RR is a luxury car and people that own them don't really race with them. X5 can jump compare to RR, you don't even need to test drive one to tell that. just look at both of them and compare the seize. the weight of the car also matter. Believe me off road Rangy will dump X5.

Love both Range Rovers and BMWs. I own an RR and know how slow it is to 'jump' compared to an X5 of the same engine size. Maybe the X5 has a 3.0 engine and the Vogue is supercharged.

Fact, my range rover that is 13 years old , 4.6 HSE accidently managed to woop a 2 year old x5s ass about 5 months ago, the only reason i had to slow down was the fact that we were coming up to a roundabout on a dual carraigeway pretty sharpish and the old rangie dont handle i imagine quite like a new X5!

BMW is faster in every category even the 3litre diesel, yea there the same but in the RR its over 3 seconds slower to 60, i driven them both and checked the figures. Also baring Porche the X5 is considered the best handling 4x4 in the world and set the standard that others strive for again look it up its a FACT. Yea its shit off road but its notmade for that anyway, RR is.

The X5-M has 350 horses and maximum torque of 350 lb-ft where as the Range Rover TDV8 has 640NM of torque so it would be in the lead for the first 100 meters. Then ofcourse he X5 would pass by because it's lighter...But there's allways the Arden Range Rover to catch up with 520hp and 502lb-ft of torque so in the end the X5 has no chance....

Same engine, yep. But the engine fitted in the Range Rover is modified and is biased towards torque. And also BMW X5 is a "SAV", as opposed to the Range Rover, which is a proper 4x4, has proper off-road manners and is packed with gadgetry and luxurious stuff. I'd take the X5 because I'm a BMW loyal, but Range Rover is obviously the better of the two.
