Rubinstein once was asked: 'who is the best piano player of the 20th sentury?' He replied: 'I think, Horowitz'. "What about Rachmaninoff?' 'He is not a piano player, he is God himself". Listen to Rachmaninoff.
I'm amused how a game like saints row the third led me to a musical piece like this in their in game classical radio station. For a game about mindless immature fun, it sure took me somewhere great.
@Julian9ehp It was originally called the dog waltz, as Chopin had a small dog, and one day when a friend of Chopin was visiting, and as they chatted on the patio in the garden Chopins dog was chasing its tail, they both watched it, and something probably went click in Chopins musical brain, and when the friend left Chopin went to his study and composed this piece. Genius.
@abethebabe94 You mean you play it a bit more romantic and less jovial? But i agree with you. In order to make the piece more current, one cannot play the piece like this version from Rubinstein. Simple. This valse is simply very well written!
ArRubMusic, Still love this Chopin Waltz from the time I was a little girl piano prodigy & won competition with this to perform in NYC - through music career - to today. Such fun ! - penny
Rubenstein's version has so much more dignity.

Not a [must be performed in a] minute waltz, but a minute [meaning tiny] waltz.

@Puzzoozoo Great anekdote. I completely agree with the last word in your post.

@Ianthe22 Well the anekdote was the story I have heard about that piece. Yeah, the last word is fitting for him.

I play this song, too. Just a little faster and more powerful in the middle, which is not to say I'm better, there is just a style difference.

The 'Minute Waltz.Op,64,#1 in Db is also endearingly called ( French) : "Valse du petit Chien" - 'Waltz of the little dog.'
Magnificent performance by Artur Rubinstein. Merci beaucoup!
