Holy crap, never heard Double Trouble play this track like this. Wild but controlled at the same, like the jazzy slant at the start as well. What a master, gone too soon.
Bahahaha, he broke a string. No other explanation why we would go "false" @ the end. Thats how legendary he was. Playing "false" (which he hardly even did) when he broke a string and being able to snap 0.13 strings.
When Stevie was on, I mean really on, nobody came close. He was on pretty much all the time. But, sometimes he hit a level even too amazing, even for him. This segment captures SRV at that freaky level.
Reese is a bad Ass on those keyboards ! what a great add to that band Stevie knew just what he wanted, saw him play with the lonely Boys excellent show !
He was asked once about his live aggressive playing style. He said believed every show should be played like it was the last one because you never know when it will really be the last one.
The last night of his life he went on stage before Clapton at Alpine Valley. Listening backstage, Clapton asked Buddy Guy how he was supposed to follow that, meaning SRV's blistering performance. Buddy Guy told him, "just do the best you can do."
@buchris2001 You sayin Hendrix is crap.....He wouldnt have learned to play the way he did if it wasnt for Hendrix, Albert King,Freddie .B.B. ,Johnny Copeland, T-Bone Walker and all his other influences....Learn how to appreciate all guitarists for what they are......Then you will start to understand what music & guitar is all about...

the riff from 3:19 to 3:23 really reminds of something Derek Trucks might play for some reason
