  • he ends up with a little cut piece! wtf? terrible, rule of thumb people and HOME DEPOT. you try and not have a cut piece less than half of your full piece of tile anywhere. Example-12inch tile should not have any cuts less than 6inch anywhere.

  • This is a very confusing video. He lays the first full row of tile on the longest wall. Then later in the video he's measuring tile off that same wall because a full tile wont fit there? After that he places the tile he just measured on a completely opposite side of the room.

  • I like Trolls NeverDie's comment. I thought the same thing. Use a DAMN sponge

  • @4:18, that look shitty

  • What a crummy job. Remove everything that is not bolted to the floor. Including the stove.

  • Just how many different ways does the measuring need to be performed? Just start at 2:20 point . Everything before that is unintelligible

  • very crappy video thx alot h.d.

  • USE A DAMN SPONGE! 3:58

  • what a jackwagon!!!!!

  • yes kinda useful but like someone else said how come after stressing the importance of centering on the floor. check out the small cut on the right side and how come the brickwork effect appeared half way through the video. If you want a decent director or continuity expert to do you next video call me

  • It went from normal tiling to brickwork effect hmmmm?

  • You know what this is borning am going to look up cort room fights.

  • so much easier to just unbox the tiles and lay them out one row wall to wall and then figure your start point. These tiles are also the wavy edge type and they typically have arrows on the underside and its super important to have them all pointing the same way or else look out. Also as for the grout coming out if you drop you're tile tight to you're already laid down tile then press it down and then slide it away into place it will actually suck the grout away from your tile seem.

  • he sealed dirty tiles ?

  • I watched the finished floor and it isn't even the same layout as he had going on to begin with...

  • I have tired on waiting on my husband to lay some tile we bought...I was going to do it myself but watching this...I'm pretty confident I won't be able to do it. My personality is way to impatient and I would be dealing with a soft colorful slate. How can I hire someone and not get caught?

  • omfg she just swar she said use a damm sponge

  • Definitely a DIYers video.... That's not how the pros do it

  • if he laid the tile down butt close to the other tiles and pulled away, instead of laying the tile down flat at the proper spacing, he would prevent the adhesive from squishing out.. then he would have saved an hour.. also, all that excessive pre-planning didn't quite work out did it? tiling is all about illusion, working with walls that aren't square, and purposely making areas uneven to give the illusion of symmetry. perfect geometry doesn't quite cut it, as shown in this example

  • haha! all that layout for 25 square feet?

  • As a child, Did the bathtub ever looked out of place to you sitting in the side of the restroom? Meaning it is out of geometry in a square room?

  • DO NOT GROUT LIKE THAT. you should move the trowel in small oblique movments as to not pull any grout from the line. and it saves grout

  • ha! so much 4 centering the floor, hes end up with a full tile on 1 end and a small shitty cut on the other. which means he shod of had a cut slightly bigger than half a tile on both ends 2 make it look even, idiot.

  • lol crap all this to tile your floor lol i can see im gonna cock up lol gonna do my kitchen nvr done nothing like it not got a clue lol

  • Seems like a lot more work then needed for layout

  • i thought the lady said use the damn sponge. I was like woo she means business.

  • "... use a damn sponge." .. lol

  • They don't have a clue!!

  • Can anyone please explain to me how you do your setting out for the floor tiles?

I know how to do it for the walls i get a long thin piece of wood one with the height of the tiles marked and the other side with the with and then mark where the tiles are going to be exactly on the wall until I'm happy. BUT THE FLOOR I HAVEN'T GOT A CLUE???? CAN ANYONE HELP ME PLEASE?

  • @chrismcmahon333 Start from the center...use a tape measure to find the center and then mark it with a chalk line or you will fuck the whole room up. Preview the tiles on the floor before you mortar them. Before you start tollin' me, I'm an amateur so NO I don't do this for a living, just savin' a few thousand bucks by doing it myself

  • hey buddy you forgot to take the stove out! must be a home depot contractor!

  • wow

    bs video!

  • you only need 1 centre line.... if you cant work off of this 1 line, you should not be tiling your kitchen floor...

  • lmao i know right. they doin too much

  • good layout.... he got a little rip at one of the walls..... retarded or what?

  • WOOOOOOOOW the grout is way to thick

  • Home Depot also give REV - AL - SHARPTON $50 Grand a Year...

  • Boycott the home depot for fired man that wore a button that read "In God we trust!"

Thanks Fox News for letting us know!

  • nice. a^2 + b^2 = c^2

  • What does he use to cure the grout..water..?

  • He starts measuring from the centre, than when he gets to the end he stops because the remaining space is not a full tile. He moves the centre line, cuts the tile along the far wall. After that, int he other half of the video it's visible he started full tile from the far wall, not the centre!!! At the near wall he has a row of small pieces of tile... The tiles at the far wall werent even cut?!?!??

  • Starting from a centre line is usually the way to go, except this time. The small tile piece on the right was not necessary and should never have been there !

  • yeah, you shouldnt have a tiny strip like that on the right. thats tiling 101. otherwise it was a pretty decent video

  • good job
