  • John Starks' face at 5:11 is the definition of helplessness.

  • game 3 22pts

    game 4 54 pts

  • Watching this shit again feel like it was yesterday. Bulls vs Knicks get the blood flowing

  • Watch something like this and then observe the counterfeit impersonation that Kobe does. Kobe has never been on this level. Jordan did this for a decade, against real defenses.

  • @buckdunn21 dont kid urself

  • If John Starks can't stop Michael, so who else? Vs any other guy, Michael would've scored 80 that day.

  • 50+ points against a very tough defense like the Knicks' one that's incredible !!!

  • Notice how professional Jordan and the Bulls walk off their own court! No beating their chest, no snarling, no gathering at center court and celebrating. Miami heat aren't on the same calibre and Bosh cries when they lose after he pounds his chest during a win! 70's 80's 90's Basketball is gone

  • @vincespell TRUTH

  • John Starks probably do not sleep untill today because of these matches, he was like a punk kid the thought could beat everyone, but Michael was just reaping off his defense

  • 4:50 serious facial

  • 1:25.. "u reach, i teach"

  • Whose scores 50 or more in a playoff game today. Nobody!

  • @SwaggerLikeUz And that was then!!! Imagine Jordan playing against these teams today. Can you imagine what would happen to the Heat if Jordan had been sick instead of Nowitzki and those punks Wade and LeBron mocked his illness?!? He would seriously challenge Wilt's record of 100 and the Bulls would win by 30.

  • Gotta love Pat Riley's reaction. It looks like he saying "There's nothing more that we can do!"

  • 8:00 poor doc rivers :) :D

  • michael jordan didnt retire in 93. he was banned for being too good and murdering john starks. lol.

  • That's an extremely difficult shot at 7:01.

  • bought tickets to bulls vs heat 1/29/12

  • "He can't guard me. He can't guard me!"

  • Starks is a big defender but he can't defend on the God of BB...

  • Michael Jordan : Half-Man...Half-Amazing!

  • Even though John Starks was Jordan's bitch he brought out the best in him as a player...

  • 54 points against the one of the best defenders in NBA, it's amazing!!

  • Michael Jordan would score 75+ points against today's knicks..

  • @BPTVReggae LOL, yes, today's Knicks might be fresh and young, but they lost the bumpy and tough play from the 1990's squad with Pat Ewing, Anthony Mason, Charles Oakley and John Starks.

  • most alltime 50+pt vs.#1 D, not #20 or # 30.

  • if you didn't get owned by MJ during his time in the NBA....you probably weren't in the NBA....

  • cant belive this, MJ was just amazing...

  • @deimiankm8 yeah, most younger NBA fans only know MJ from his time as a Washington Wizard or the second three peat.

But MJ before his first retirement was way much more explosive with crazy hangtime

    and great in game dunks.

  • jordan: who else?

  • The vast majority of his points were off of JUMPSHOTS. Against one of the premier defenses of that era. Incredible.

  • every.single.time. Poor poor Knicks fans.

  • I wish everyone would stop comparing Michael Jordan to God...I mean he's good and everything but he's no Michael Jordan.

  • @mustang4sho god just clicks a finger and it can be chicago bulls -500 and celtics - 0 and there u go end of the game

  • @mustang4sho

LMFAO! Fucking LOVE that comment! lol

  • @mustang4sho that my friend you will find out someday :D

  • holy shit howd u get it in such high quality

  • this is what basketball is all about... intensity!

  • awesome ~

  • starks did a pretty good job by being a moving target for jordan, and jordan shoot him pretty well.

  • Job ve., ve,,, bc rd cvx dc 'm

    Cm dm.

  • Its hard to believe that MJ and Pat EW are great friends after these battles.

  • MJ tearing that ass up. MJ simply the best

  • who says jordan couldnt shoot better than kobe!!???

  • Great video my man, ANYONE with a PS3 can download my rosters on 2k10 with THESE TEAMS that play LIKE this video, and a HOST of others great rivalries, check my channel, you wont regret it. Peace. P.s. for those with other systems I'm making video's of the teams so the stats can be entered if desired of other systems, plus relive just about ALL the BESt rivalries to '87 Showtime Lakers, to '92 dream team and MORE, check description for more info, take MY legend's World's Greatest Startin' 5's

  • That pull up jumper is the most effective move in the sport if you manage to hit it effectivly, this game proves my point...

  • oh man john starks had a really bad day that day.lol. he played good defense but michael was just on fire.

  • 60% shooting with a bad shooting wrist vs the number 1 D in the league at that time, Starks was the only guy on the floor there that could d jordan decently, not like reley never tried other guys on him, They both fed off each other because they both like to talk off the court and during the game. God help any defender when jordan is feeling his jumper like he was that night.

  • His ability to take over a game at will when it really matters never ceases to amaze me. One of the greatest (or imo THE greatest) athletes in any sport.

  • This was a tough game for us to lose and I remember knowing that The Bulls were going to win the series because of the momentum they had after Jordan put on a show on my Knicks.

  • 4:43 he Michael Jackson'd the shit outta him.

  • why did they put starks on jordan he loved to score on him

  • @j7x54

No one else on the Knicks roster could guard Jordan 1 on 1 besides Starks. Jordan was just feeling it that night~

  • how mant threes did he hit he was lighting starks up

  • starks actually played some good D. almost every shot was highly contested. but was just too good

  • Every single shot Jordan makes=The Bulls fan's orgasm

  • DAMN 3 people that hit dat dislike button must be from New York!! Jordan just toasted John Starks!!!

  • mj put a style in doc river face.

  • The 3 people that dislike this video is Starks, Riley, and Ewing.

  • @moeschizlac Good one...made me smile

  • @moeschizlac and Charles Oackley xDDD

  • What makes this even more impressive was that the Knicks were the NBA's No. 1 defensive team in 1993.

  • @Bullsfan2008DR Not to mention this is playoff basketball which is even tighter and more defensive than usual.

  • 55 points whole point of it being called the double nickel game

  • Jordan greatest ever no doubt any1 who thinks anybody is better than Jordan has brain damage. I love how MJ toasts and burns Starks every way possible

MJ greatest basketball player ever and is the greatest competitor I've ever seen in any sport.......

  • I know MJ has gone off with the jumper before, but the next time I hear some idiot talk about "you know who" having a better jumper than MJ I'll post this as a response.

The dude scores 54 points, 17 FG's on jumpshots, 6 three pointers AND 1 LAYUP...ONE!

And this is against the best defense in the league, in a 1-2 hole, in the ECF, trying to do something no team has done in 30 years (lead a team to a 3-peat)!

Who else shoots like this against that kind of pressure? Seriously...

  • @TyroneNBAFan And I forgot to mention he shot 60 fuckin' % from the feild.

  • its like he dont miss anything..and when he do it seems like he shouldve of it was a mistake lol..this guy is a beast!!

  • This was right after a columnist published a piece saying that Jordan was losing his edge. I'm a Knicks fan and all I can remember thinking was "He's pist...and he's unleashed holy hell on us." I was 7 at the time. Jordan made kids think of such things, tbh.

  • The two people who dislike this video are John Starks and Pat Riley.

  • To me this was Mike greatest playoff performance outside of the garden party...Why i say that? well let see...his team was down 2 to 1 and if they had lost then the knicks wouldve been up 3 to 1 and i dont think this bulls team wouldve been able to came back and forced a game 7 and the 1993 finals wouldve been suns vs. knicks instead....so he had to drop 54 cause this was a crucial game 4 and the knicks were the number 1 defense in the league which made it more amazing

  • and one more thing, i still think patrick ewing is the missing link

  • new york coach reminds me of greco from wall street

  • i hope kobe is watching this at home, kobe this is what a man that can bring a team together can do, even IF you did get that 6th ring you will never be jordan!

  • What's funny is MJ almost seems a little bit slower than his normal self in this game. Seems like he was playing slow motion, and he still scored 54. Amazing.

  • starks a cry baby take it like a man hes just too good

  • man i would love to see him do that in this day and age of basketball

  • @dazeguy513

do you think MJ wouldn't translate to today's game? Because he could, he wasn't far off from today in the first place, he dropped what 43 points in 2003 at the age of 40, and back then you could hand check, if all those hand checks were fouls he'd have dropped 20 more in free throws or allowed shots

  • @dazeguy513 he ll pro score 100

  • @ta4life27 he would probably score more than that we all no first half mike would get his players involved first then second half it's all air jordan

  • @dazeguy513 lol yeah wat a player

  • Look at Michael's quality of concentration. Relaxed and focused. Free from expectations. Just THAT

  • 2 things his spring his legs looked real strong this game esp on his first shot and second what is that song playing in the back ground after the game was over, it sounds like an old school Hammer song??

  • jesus. jordan was quick. and could shoot lights out. and play tough D.

  • You'll NEVER see a matchup like Starks/Jordan or a performance like this under these defensive conditions again.

The offense and defense dished punishment. Starks clawed, pushed, and grabbed Jordan almost every play. On the other end Jordan dishes it right back. He slaps and elbows Starks hands out of the way to get free.

If this game were officiated with today's rules Starks would have fouled out, Jordan would've shot 25 FT's and finished with 70 points.

  • 1:46 ... now THAT's a JAB step!

  • lol 1 disklike pat riley

  • didnt he lose that game against the celtics??

  • U-N-B-E-L-I-E-V-A-B-L-E!!!!

  • there was jordan and the bulls and then there was everyone else

  • Michael Jordan is wanted for the murder of John Starks :)

  • Personally I think Starks was heavily overrated.

  • Does the 63 point record still stand today or has someone passed it?

  • @MadmanAndMystic26 Jordan still holds the record.

  • MJ's best games always against Knicks, the most excited series during those years.

  • at 2:04 michael jordan killed john Starks ankles on that in and out move!!! lol

  • i never get sick of watching that little dance at 4:44. no dribble all about footwork and body fakes and look how much space he creates from there.

  • It was one time when starks was right there its like jordan said fuck you, take that!

  • at 5:04, I felt bad for Starks...looks like his soul just left his body.

  • thanks a lot for this video!!

  • Starks was freaking great defender!! People dont know it untill they watch NY games.

Jordan's every shot was taken with the hand on his face. Starks was using great technique against MJs shots, something like Battier today, just trying to cover eyes of the shooter, if you consider the fact that he was not tall then the impression is even bigger. Starks was 6,4-6,5 according to different sources, so guarding taller and stronger Jordan was extremely hard

  • riley was like "dear god, please foul-out michael" and the god goes " bro, i'm his assistant"

  • lmfao MJ was making everyone get technical fouls for frustration lol

  • ...and 6:58-7:02 - perfect shot. btw why did starks guard jordan? lol

  • @markwaldron

starks was the best player to guard jordan... jordan said himself starks is great defender. But that night, jordan was one fire llol

  • 4:45-4:50 - reminds me of this guy that plays for l.a.

  • @markwaldron no u mean kobe reminds of jordan

  • 6/9 3pt shoting

    Not bad!

  • If wasn't for Jordan, Knicks would have win NBA 92-93 championship ring.

  • now that i think about it.. MJ has won the scoring title in every complete season as a bull... am i right on that statement? lol

  • Starks= Douche

  • 54 pts, 18 / 30 , 6 / 9 3 pointers... against a TOUGH defence.

  • Thanks for uploading Balthus23!

Beginning of 1990s that was the best time for basketball!

  • 6:29 who is that guy next to Scott WIlliams? anybody know tell me. I'd appreciate it.

  • @frusionnn Corey Williams

  • thing is people just start a conversation of kobe and lebron on a jordan page for no reason and theres always a lebron talk on kobe page and kobe talk on lebron page and these players dont give a shit about anybody

  • Greatest of all time. And it is not even close! Especially with any players playing today.

  • Jordan is the best of all time.

  • I could watch Starks getting ripped like this all day and all night

  • I'm starting to wonder who in the current NBA can guard MJ in his prime? Tell me.

  • @mjoaquin23 Nobody in the history of the league could guard Jordan in his prime, and to be honest nobody could guard him at the end of his days with the Bulls either. Hell, he was still having 40 point games in his late 30's with the Wizards!

  • @mjoaquin23 No one - another reason why MJ is the greatest of all time and comparing any current player to him is a joke

  • poor starks...

  • starks played GREAT D... but jordan is too much

  • UN-STOP-ABLE

sidenote i love how Marv was so used to seeing Jordan light it up that 54 points was nothing to heat up about. Nowadays, if a player scores 30, everyone starts to scream like it's fight night. Jordan downs 54 and everyone accepts that as reality because MJ is Mister SCORE

  • @HonoreT35 Add the tough physical D Starks and other guards like Dumars, Dennis Johnson, Michael Cooper and GP later on played plus the inside presence of shotblockers, like Patrick Ewing in this case, and voila...u got what many people consider the GOAT! And Im a Knicks fan saying that!

  • I remember watching this live like it was yesterday! F'n amazing!!!

  • GOAT

  • Simmons

  • at the beggining of the video there was a song playing, was it enter sandman? I still remember an intro for one of the games of this series, that i've been looking for ever, it was the best intro that I've ever seen, but I think it was in game 5, because it said something like 23 is back, 54 points, with enter sandman in the back, maybe you could help me, thanx

  • @kbmorrison100

    Yes, you are absolutely right!

  • @kbmorrison100 yes you are right

  • @kbmorrison100 yes you are right

    it was enter sandman

  • @kbmorrison100 enter sandman it was.....

  • yooh balthus! do u have a copy of all the games of this series?

  • the greatest basketball player on the planet

  • These were REAL PALY OFFS,no bullshits.

  • @lauroau Yeah...I mean back then they even played defense in All Star Games! They played the first half to entertain people and the second half was all about winning (but they would still put on a great show for us the fans)....Today's all star games are like watching the Trotters vs the Generals or something...

  • 54 pts in 39 minutes

    In the playoffs

Vs. the #1 defense in the league

    Not bad. :)

  • @utfanatic2000 Jeez! I didn't know he only played 39 minutes! Damn! He mighta scored 70 had he played the whole game! JESUS!

  • haha he had starks heated

  • Phil took him out of this game with about 7 or 8 minutes left in the fourth quarter due to foul trouble. Jordan had 50 at the time. He could've had a much bigger game than he had.

  • Keep it up bro!!!

  • the GREATEST, FUCK kobrick!

  • @rudeKiD fine MJ is the greatest...but how you can get 5 thumbs up for saying fuck kobrick, astonishes me....kobe bryant is without a doubt the best basketball player since MJ...so, being from L.A myself imma say this and feel good.....FUCK you...

  • @jonnyrisas hahah no FUCK YOU! i get thumbs up cause its true faggot...kobe is good without a doubt but why follow someone whos personality so fake n whack

  • @rudeKiD hate the game...not the player! punk punk

  • @jonnyrisas cant hate the game so u can hate on the player..dumbass....so i follow ppl with game and personality

  • @rudeKiD i guess everyone is intitled to their opinion...

but if you don't like kobe, do you ever watch todays nba or just watch MJ vids all day and hate on current players cuz they ain't like mike...

  • @jonnyrisas you wishhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • THE MACHINE MAN

  • GOAT, showcasing the gorgeous shooting stroke, and that incredible touch. Starks, as good a defender as he was, could do nothing. Stubborn ole Riley should have doubled or tripled MJ more.

  • @utfanatic2000 even they do that i think MJ can score or MJ will past the ball to his free team mate like pippen .. or score on 3's

  • They could have but the problem was that MJ wasn't even putting the ball on the floor maybe one or two dribbles then shoots it. Much to the idiot younger fans who claim that MJ only dunked and drove to the basket, this game is proof that those claims are false. He only had 1 layup in this game and unlike a lot of current players he didnt go to the Free Throw line 20 times

  • @sopa71479 Riley was also known to be incredibly stubborn, much like Sloan, in refusing to double players, and sticking with man to man. In addition, he had a 2nd team all defense guy in Starks guarding him. He would have been better served doubling and trapping MJ and taking his chances with the rest of the bulls.

  • I somewhat disagree. Doubling Jordan can often be a risky strategy.

Remember, MJ shot poorly in Game 3, but he had 11 assts as the Knicks doubled him quite hard, and the rest of the Bulls routed the Knicks.

In game 5 Knicks double teamed MJ more often. He had a triple double with 29 points in spite of the double team.

  • @PAZ0619 Doubling ANYONE can be a risky strategy, that's why some coaches refuse to do it unless absolutely necessary.

  • Thanks Balthus

  • Whats crazy is that Starks played really good defense against MJ in this game, but it didn't matter. MJ was on automatic.

  • @cooljjjj all of that defense are called fouls in the NBA for the past 6 or more years lol

  • Another great up! I subscribed and love your uploads on the sport scene

  • Hi man, thanks for your comment!
