  • Really tho whats the point in it being stealth if the amp is still visible? I'd rather have the subs visible than the amp. Bahh this install is a fail.

  • idk if anyone said this but if the sub if obviously in a sealed box like thing then also hid under to layers of carpet hmmm how does it move air to make any noticeable bass the top is muffled by carpet and the guts and in a sealed box nice idea but i get subs to hear the bass so muffling it in anyway makes no sense to me

  • Hide the damn amp and put a computer fan on it.

  • dude just put it in your trunk and tell your wife or who ever made you do it to fuck off

  • Hope you don't get a flat tire.. lol

  • thats a small car it would be loud with small subbs but put in box not fucking hiddin thats gay!

  • плахая идея

  • Should have done a band-pass and ported it into the cab...

  • it's not all carpeting? that's a wooden panel he lifts up, i agree that it would reduce alot of bass resonance, but it wouldn't get fucked up

  • wat ah failer....

  • damn dude. thats pretty fuckin nice! i personally however prefer to show off my setup d:

  • sounds shitty

  • the scion tc has three areas under the mats, the far left contains the parts for the spare tire, in the center the spare tire, and the far right the emergency kit. What these guys did was turn the foam design for the emergency kit into a sub box. They just cut a piece of mdf designed to cover the top and stuck a hole for the woofer. I had something similar done to my tc but I put a custom box to fit that area fully. We used the foam as a model for my new box.

  • sik kafali baska yer yokmuydu...

  • sik kafali baska koyacak yer mi yok tu

  • Wow some serious idiots in this thread.

  • F.A.I.L !!!!!!

  • is that a stock or did you add the subs? i know scion you can get stuff customized. i personally wouldnt because everything is propritary and if you upgrade you cant sell the stock setup easily. pretty nice looking though dosent sound too bad

  • fail.

  • dumb installation i bet it sounds like crap

  • hm are you dumb ? maybe put something to protect it not fucking just leave it there it wont maybe even sound so good, with high volume it just hits the carpet and messes

  • hmpf, tobad i cant hid my system =\

  • I'm going to buy me one.

  • its okay but you should of cut a hole through all those matts put a grill to protect the subs and your good! :D

  • FAILLLLLLLLLLLL.....

  • retarded install..

If you put a bag of groceries in the trunk... what the fuck do you think is going to happen?

The sub is going to get fucked up.

Sink the sub lower and fucking put a grill on it idiots.

And for fucking god sakes, hide the fucking amp if your going to go through hiding the sub.

    Fucking retards.

  • rite after everthing you say you should say just my opinion like fastfive5 down there..

    just my opinion

  • you must be a woman, you seem like you need your hand held.

  • @CriticalTech I agreed...need free spaces for the air to work out to its max...dumbshit installation....

  • That panel is stiff enough to protect the sub, I doubt the excursion is enough to even hit the covering. That enclosure is a direct fit replacement of the stock on one that the manufacturer put there. I Think Toyota Motor Corporation took groceries into consideration.

  • @CriticalTech also the rubber around the cone rubs on the carpet and eventually it will tare

  • @CriticalTech so true! LOL wat a fail

  • @CriticalTech ahahaha I laugh at how you actually get MAD at them because they make a video with an install you don't like. Thats pathetic and shows you care too much about the internet and about people you don't know. You COULD say "hey maybe you should put a grille on it so when you put stuff in the trunk, granted you do, you don't hurt the woofer" but you call them fucking idiots, using the word "fuck" quite a bit. And people only say fuck when they don't know how to get their point across...

  • @masterwolf1212

looks like you got thumbs down there and critical tech has 39 thumbs aimed right up your ass.

Go fail somewhere else you "master wolf" lol....

  • @greenrolaids I have no thumbs down! Ahaha! Funny you get so mad at my comment. Take Youtube a bit seriously? Hehe. Well, whatever, you see, I really don't care what my comment gets, or whom replies. I got my point out to the world and I'm fine with that. Nomatter what you say, there is always someone to disagree, as demonstrated here, in a rather rude way. As I can see you know your point won't get to me so you use cuss words, which just shows how unconfident you are! Have a nice day, I will to

  • @greenrolaids Oh, and just a little side note from my other comment, I do not see how a comment can "fail" as you say, especially when I am just trying to make sense of this video, which apparently most people are too lazy to do. Oh well, let them do what they want. And I agree, I don't like my name "masterwolf1212" aswell, I just thought it sounded cool, but now I don't really like it. But too late! I have 250 subscribers so no change! I would bother replying cause Im NOT reading your comments!

  • @masterwolf1212

theres a difference between mocking a retarded installation and being mad.

I would hope that you would proof read your comments before you try and act like an adult.

I am truly sorry for your loss.

    Your loss of intelligence.

    BURN !

  • @CriticalTech Ok, I will burn. Tell me how I will burn, I will not go and burn myself since I actually like my life.... :P And tell me how I was stupid in the comments? You say I lost intelligence from posting a comment, yet in school I have a B+ average. Not the best, but Spanish is holding me back, I really don't do good in that class. So tell me CriticalTech, how exactly am I stupid. Why did you put a space before the exclamation point, and how should I proof read my comments.

  • @masterwolf1212

You are stupid for one glaring reason.

  • @CriticalTech You know what, your just a big ball of anger. You call these people fucking retards after putting effort into a sytem. Maybe for your application it wouldn't work. Maybe, though, these people have another car to put groceries in, maybe they don't put items in the trunk here. So they arent fucking retards, retards are people that have to sit in a wheelchair because they cannot walk because their brain is not developed. These people hooked up a decent system, and you put it down.

  • @CriticalTech So you know what, prior to what I said in my last comment, I am done dealing with you. You just put peoples things down when they don't suit you, and assume they are crap. Well, you know what, forgot you man, lol. People like you arent even worth trying to talk to, because no matter what you'll be arrogant and will not even attempt to take other peoples veiws into slight consideration. Then call them stupid for sticking up, and not telling them why they are stupid. Good day sir.

  • @masterwolf1212

It's been fun watching you try to form a cognitive argument.

Here's how to do it, state your thesis, back it up with details regarding your thesis.

You could then try and prove or disprove the opposing argument by pointing out the others flaws based on his or her statements.

You not even scratched the surface in teams of approaching a valid argument.

This is the most common problem among adolescence and the majority of the immature irrational comments on you-tube.

  • @CriticalTech lololol! :D

I was wrong, you were right, blah blah Please explain how you are right in this argument about grocery bags being a problem with the subwoofers.

Btw, if you notice the subwoofer is sunken in the enclosure a bit, and the floor with the carpet on it has a solid backing so it wouldn't really pose a problem. And they could put a grille or something over it to protect it.

  • @CriticalTech You were a little harsh, but if you was paying attention. The cover over the sub was a thin shit of mdf wood or plastic. You can tell this by, when he lifted it up it was hinged and was stiff not like the rug on top which flopped over.

  • Hide the sub so that it hits the carpet but keep the amp laying out. Doesn't seem well thought out but that is my opinion.

  • If they would just add another piece of MDF to make the sub more flush it might be okay.

  • EPiC FAIL

  • why?

  • the sub is gonna hit the material covering it if it is turned up. duhr durh durhrhrh

  • ok i get it

  • @M50SNIPER These guys are failures....It was a good idea, but like whats been said, it wasnt fully thought out. Especially with the amp layin there.

  • Hell yea. Even considering this is perhaps a business that did this I think some people opt for laziness over thought.

  • Doesn't the tC already come with a subwoofer?

  • VraiDiouf yes but it's horrible. They did it right for the most part minus the fact that the sub has a chance of hitting the carpet.

  • I think thats a good idea but now the next time you break down you wont be able to change tires. I guess thats what a tow truck is for huh?

  • u need grills for ta subs. the way u have em will sure to kill ur voice coils.

  • @imani99a if you was paying attention. The cover over the sub was a thin shit of mdf wood or plastic. You can tell this by, when he lifted it up it was hinged and was stiff not like the rug on top which flopped over. And it isnt the voice coil, its the cone.

  • @TheGamerPalace THANK YOU! The voice coil doesnt get hurt, the cone will rip or tear from its surround. Lowering the sub an inch more would fix it, but honestly the sub's excursion isnt enough to even matter. But true to the fact the amp isnt hidden kills this whole stealth...

  • now all you need to is to put concrete on top and you're done :)

  • LOL they way you put the subs robbers will never steal them. Not the best place for subs but if you live in the ghetto and a lot of car break ins then that is the ideal spot

  • waht happens if you throw something heavy in your trunk?

  • then the wood cushions it, and i'd hope your not throwing something in your trunk so forcefully anyways.

I was wanting a setup like this but I heard one and it sounds crappy unless you have at least 2 12's and 800w amp to each.

  • The thing that covers the sub is hard, the weigh won't weight directly on the sub.

  • its not so bad, I have a 12" with a cap, amp, custom enclosure and here is no noticeable difference in performance or weight. My bud has 2 15's and you can't even tell when you drive it. neither of us have lost any mpg either if that is what your worried about. heres a tip though, bolt the box and amp onto something because they tend to slide if you drive a bit vigorously.

  • Wouldnt that cut down the sound of your bass

  • is this a good spot for a sub??

  • So nice! Really nice sound in the Sci-OOOOOOOOoooown!

  • my uncle has some of them omfg them are some loud ass motherfuckers!

  • Si molto molto bello e azzeccato come sistema, sia per lo spazio che per estetica...ma la ruota di scorta dove l'hai messa?di solito è sotto i portabagagli....

  • damn man i hope your remember you have your sub there when u put stuff in the truck wouldnt wanna fuk it up or anything.

  • yea if that gets excurion its gona die

  • tight low key spot

  • ay u can still have the spare tire right?

  • if that has any exersion its gona ruin it

  • its all ABOut the fi btl' series

  • Says every single tard who knows nothing about car audio...

  • awesome i like the hiding spot n its still hitting decently

  • hide tha amp and it will be perfect

  • Song name

  • Yeah, what are those 10's? get a cover they are like 10 bucks and it still will hit the same.

  • kindy cool, more spacy but you should get somthing over the sub so it don't touch the madrass thing.

  • ok thats about the dumbest video ever cant hear any bass

  • Hey, hows that piece of plywood sound smacking against the woofer box?

  • gay.

  • , check out the dj poverello poltergeist track , wicked b-line

  • completely retarded setup

  • fuck, i would never do that.

  • man why the fuck would you put a nice rockford frosgate or something behind a view layerz of wood and stuff

  • thats a woofer built by Elemental Designs

  • rofl. yeah i "get the point"

but do you not know, 2 layers of some kind of wood and the a mat thing on top of your sub cancels about 50% of your bass.

the question is, do you get the point?

  • I think "elementaldesigns" needs to do some homework before posting Crap like this!!! I'm sure he doesn't get the point!

  • Elemental Designs is a highly respected speaker building company, do your homework before posting crap like this.

(also, thats a countersunk box, its not gonna hit the rug)

  • respected by who??? 8 year olds??? even the dumbest installer knows that cancellation takes place with even the smallest coverings and under a trunk mat??? come on man, be real... it's stupid! it doesn't have to hit the rug to cancel amateur!

  • bah, I still like elemental Designs speakers, look at the woofers they make, and before you decide to hate on ED, ED makes some of the most badass woofers out there.

  • no they dont

  • its easily one of the best SQ brands out there.

  • The subwoofer can be designed well. In fact, even if it's the best subwoofer in the world- you can ruin it's output levels and sq by bad placement.

  • yea, but ED still makes some monsterous woofers, the haters are the ones who havent heard the setup, so for all the fucking haters, Listen to it in RL before you hate on it, internet haters are the retards.

  • ur dumb

  • and a small dick to compensate for.

  • what dick?

  • rofl 718 hp... well jus a comparison a kawasaki ninja is 33-35 hp

yeh.. u must be a fuckin jet aeroplane for 718 hp

  • i am :D

  • asshole i got 2 custom 20's in my house nigga

  • who r those 20's made by? cuz last time i checked it goes from 18' then 22'

  • i dont remember

  • idiot

  • i did the same thing with the same woofer but in a subaru and it actualy sounds realy nice.

  • OMG

  • If you put stuff on the trunk and it somehow rested on the speaker, won't it get damaged? :?

  • @Doppelgangergang nah i think that wooden panel is quite tough.

  • @Doppelgangergang He has it like, sunk in a good inch or so if you look at it carefully, its not just wood then subwoofer, it's sunk in some with a felt covered plastic cover and another trunk mat, so it shouldn't really pose a threat to the subwoofer unless like something is being stored ontop of it for long periods of time, so I say, doesn't mean i'm 100% right though >.>

  • How did you get a 10 in that spot. I was thinking about putting a 6.5 rockford mid bass in that spot, but not a 10. what sub did you use?

  • elemental designs SQ10 subwoofer is the sub

  • how is that possible u should of made a detachable woffer box with a porn hole, how u did not use woffer sand, it adds a good effect this is just a waste of money, time, & sense

  • your stupid...get the point? LOL. If you want to save room, get a bigger car. Don't hide the sub under the carpet you idiot. Bet you thought you were smart when you did that. What about excursion or the port hole? ever thought of that? Is your box the right diameter to get the best quality for that sub? You should have hid the amp and left the sub out.

  • Cant believe all the retards posting here. Its a sealed enclosure, there is no need for a port. The cone doesnt hit the carpet because the enclosure is flush mounted which allows the driver to be mounted deeper down. Some people want stealth installs not huge enclosures in their car...

  • but under carpeting sub frequencies will be cancelled!!! nothing is wrong with trying to save space, but y give up bass by having to cover your sub with a trunk mat... it will kill ur subline

  • Total moron.

  • there has to be some sort of bushing to allow the distance of the surround right?

  • Did you guys wire the sub in Neg polarity?

  • dude that got to sound bad when that sub hits against that mat

  • more room to fit hoes in the back lol

  • how does that not fuck up the sub when it flexes?

  • Ummmmmm..... you better hope that your foam isn't rubbing against that...

  • ok ...all this idiotics comments. JACKHAMMER WAS TESTED ON 9K RMS RF AMPS , NOT MTX SCORE : 148.9 MAX DB HANDLED BY SUB.

    2 JACKHAMMERS : 153.9

  • you should put a grill so you dont blow the sub

  • so how much was it to get a custom box? my box takes up the whole trunk..

  • you should put a little spacer between that piece of carpeted wood and that sub. you may end up with a blown voice coil if that sub keeps hitting that. Otherwise great clean install!!!!

  • eD is just as good as Fi and others...

  • i want a jackhammer :P

  • I'm sorry to say this but MTX Jackhammer sucks.

  • so you have one?

  • did I say I did?

  • how would you know if one "sucks" if you dont own one?

Did your friends cousin have one?

  • Psh I doubt your friend's cousin has one. Pretty sad such a big beast only hits 130dB. A Alpine Type R 12" with 1000 watts rms can hit 138dB. Many other smaller subwoofers (18", 15", 12") can hit louder than that 22" fat expensive sh*T. Professional car audio installers say they're wack too. They're for looks, not for power which is really useless.

  • u faggit dumbass they hit 160 plus dB my ucul is paid to go to db drags by mtx so no it dose not suck that sub is more expenceive then ur house so dont go talking smak about the jackhammer unless u have herd ont then bye all means talk smake i frankly dont give a fuck

  • this sub costs $20,000+ right? Ok so, my house is 32.5x more. If you didn't give a fuck, then why did u even reply to me? Can you show me it hitting 160dB? What amp was it being powered by? Just by subwoofer, 4 18" Fi BTL's can do 158dB. Hmm...

  • your mothers ass cost $20.000

  • Nice... you know you didn't diss me at all. You just told me that my mom's worth a lot!

  • Dont blame Calvin you have to pay for sex...

  • they do, but not the 18" jackhammer..

  • 22 inches lol

  • nice equipment! is that an Audisson amp? all is nice i think you should get some type of spacer between the sub and floor mat other than that looks good.

  • seriously good idea, but you need it enclosed to get the most out of it.

  • You're gay, and my mom said you were a waist of money. The only point was the tip of your dick.

  • lmao elemental designs is a great company with superb quality, why don't you do some research. It is a great idea and great design, props to you eD!

  • if this inclosure was built in a way to have the ports comming into the cabbin of the car that would be a pritty good idea (if it were ported)

  • that just kills the airflow from the sub.

sound quality can be much better if it wasnt covered.

  • u got pretty good subs man but da only problem is dat u should'nt cover up ur subs like but da placing of it is good!!!GOOD SUBS MAN!!

  • bad way to put your speaker

  • Great Video! Your video has been added in the new Car Audio Video Sharing site. It is strictly for Car Audio only!!! Check it out CarAudioClips . com

    Enjoy!

  • this just rattles ur car like hell and has a mufled sound

  • Thats about what they did to the sub in all 2008 tC's, and it's standard. Now it saves even more room for your cargo.

  • bi sike yaramaz

  • how does this sound with the mat covering it?

I dont think it would sounds so hot

  • how to break in a car

  • yea but the amp is still visable...so who ever is breaking in is gonna check everywhere

  • badbadbadbadbadb wanderfull funny

  • Where did u put your reserve Wheel?

  • Still there right next to it. You don't lose the spair when you install it.

  • my brother in law has this same box and sub, powered by a Nine.2, and it hits hard. looks what we got a bunch of haters on here.

    ED makes high quality stuff.

  • lol that has to sound so shitty

  • Thats stupid. That wouldnt sound good at all. The subwoofer cant push much air at all where it is, since your blocking off the cone. Thats a horrible install, looks very clean though. A smarter idea would have been to get a custom made box to mount it one of the sides of the trunk.

  • the customer is always right

  • Actually it sounds very good. Have you had the oppertunity to hear this? It's quite common in OE applications to have a driver firing through porous cardboard material. The trunk cover is nothing more than a light cardboard (which is what many speaker grills are made out of in production vehicles). Really it's just using make sense materials to protect the speaker :)

  • To protect the speaker? At high excursion your gonna have the speaker hittin the cover! Not smart my friend. I stick with the side theory, that woulda been best. Just build a custom box to mount on the side of the trunk.

  • which E.D amp is that?
