  • It started gracefully.

  • buy a new battery if you got problems with your car starting up, and spark plugs

  • you know you have to hold the key in the start position until the engine starts, right?

at least thats how it works on most cars.

  • @isays depends on the car, my old 2009 300C simply started by putting the ket in the ignition & giving it a quick turn to the start position & immediately letting go.

  • @canthony1019 wierd... what if you have to crank it for a while? did it just know to keep cranking until it started, or did it just crank for a preset amount of time?

  • @isays computer in the car keeps starter solenoid powered on & cranking until rpm's meet set level somewhere around the 400-450 range & motor is powered under it's own load. or until switch is turned to off while doing so.

i could keep it held but that would be pointless & most cars made after 2004 have fail safe solenoids in place that open once the motor is turning under it's own load so you don't energize the starter motor and strip off the gear teeth while it's running.

  • I love the 1993-2009 Honda beeps and 2010-2012 ford beeps

  • Why the heck was this in my "recommended for you"?

  • I HATE that beep!

  • If I only turn my key for a second that happens too, don't be a fucking idiot.. people like you shouldn't be behind the wheel at all.

  • LOLLL THE FUCKING ENGINE START MEN ITS JUSTE BECAUSE SHE MAKE NO SOUND HAHAHAHAHAHHAHA FAIL!

  • nfs undergroun 2 gauge

  • Good 'ol honda quality....

  • @LogoRifle

yes, good ol Honda quality, fired up perfectly fine, as they do...Only reason it didnt start right the first time is because the idiot behind the wheel didnt hold the key in the start position long enough, so the engine barely even had a chance to properly crank over.

  • tats normal dumbass.....

  • this post sucks

  • Comment removed

  • Digital RPM make you beleive civic are good

  • @QcLoneWolf the tach is not digital, the speedometer is digital

  • @willowcairns Wrong. The speedometer is digital, the tachometer IS digital just has an analog display.

  • :l Fail video. HURRDUURR IT WON'T START IF I JUST TURN THE KEY FOR A MILLISECOND.. DDUURRRRR SOMETHING'S WRONG.

  • this is normal to honda

    unreliable

  • @blazzing4321 hondas are really reliable just learn how to take care of one and before you trash talk look up your information before you look stupid alright?

  • Comment removed

  • @blazzing4321 your funny kid hondas are about one of the most reliable cars in the market these days and japan makes mostly the stuff that is imported to the U.S. go back to your gay ass muscle cars....

  • @blazzing4321 really.....you have to do some serious amount of research then......do you know that Hondas are more reliable then toyotas these days!!!!!

  • @blazzing4321 shut the fuck up unreliable is ur mom

  • @blazzing4321 AHhahaha honda being japan made there more american made than a chevy these days and same as a ford!

  • @walkingfreak my mustang was made in america, as well as most/ all of the newer ones( to my knowledge at least) The only 2 assembly plants for civics are brazil and canada.

  • @admiraljimmy actually dude sorry to burst your bubble, very few "american cars are actually made in america these days. Most of them are made in mexico, and most of honda's are made in the united states

  • @willowcairns Actually dude I know where most cars are made, I get 'em brand spankin new with the shipping tags working from hertz dude, and dude you can like totally look it up on the internet dude and see where civics are like totally produced. And like totally my awesome dude mustang was like totally made right here in the U.S. totally dude. But on a serious note a lot of American cars are made in mexico and canada. But not all imports are made in America. You wont win this DUDE.

  • @admiraljimmy If you could read, show me where i stated that all imports are make in america? I said most hondas are made in the united states, as in 85 percent of them are. I never said that every single one is made in the united states. I searched that internet and i found that civic are produced in Ohio

  • @willowcairns When did I say you said that? I was stating a fact, I know that's hard to comprehend with the tiny IQ you seem to have. That's pretty cool though, all mine come off the ships in Charleston, and a trucked to me with shipping stickers from brazil though. Haven't seen one from ohio yet, I'll have to keep an eye out.

  • @admiraljimmy Well you never actually got my full thoughts on cars. Its a fact that imports make the better cars. They may not be the most powerful cars but they are more reliable and last longer. Of course any car can last well over 200,000 miles if they are taken care of. Ford makes the best american cars on the road today, they have really become a better company and are producing more reliable cars then in their past. On a side note every company has manufacturing plants all over the world

  • @admiraljimmy i am just stating a fact that more cars are made in america by Honda then by most american cars are. I should of made myself more clear in my first post. What mustang do you have? the 2011's are really nice and i would love to have a 5.0

  • @blazzing4321 Racist american...

  • @blazzing4321 i believe that car started

  • how come you have tpms in yours if i have 2010 model exl and it dosnt have it ?? Was it optional ?

  • I think the real fail is how you couldn't get the key in lol.

  • Maybe you let go of the key while it was starting. :D

  • how does a vid like this get almost 100k views... baffling

  • maybe its speedo calibration?

  • its most probably the tps. throttle position sensor.

  • Honda is so quiet and still it seems like it didnt start at all! =)

  • your emoblize key or secruity system is malfuctioning. dealer repair only

  • the car started

  • what are you drunk? it started if you didnt know

  • pointless video is pointless.

  • my 2009 RS focus reves out 2 2500rpm when it is cold!

  • riveting video.

  • automatic suck

  • @15432Joce That has nothing to do with it you fuck

  • @15432Joce

what a dumbass,if everyone had automatic accidents would drop dramatically.

If u like everything manual, get a Ford Model T,im pretty sure you have to crank the engine to start it up (manual)

Oh and maybe you should drive manual and automatic cars so you can actually know the difference.

  • @quatroportte A stick-shift requires constant attention to hill grade, engine speed, and a host of other things. It keeps you alert, since falling asleep at the wheel is much harder to do in a standard, than an automatic, where you're basically meat in the seat. Acceleration is much better in a manual, so is winter driving. Even the gearbox is less sensitive to ever-so-slight variations in the transmission fluid in a stick-shift. Have you ever driven stick?

  • @mrfoxboy

i own a manual 1993 bmw 318i and a honda CRV 2005 both manual and both gay.The honda's transmission is a joke,i have to grind the clutch to get it going.

i had a 95 mazda mpv that was automatic and it's a whole different story.

About the sleeping part...i can start with the crv in 3rd gear and keep it there till 140kmh(diesel) i dont have to change for a long time, same as auto.

the real question is.Did you ever drive automatic?

  • @quatroportte you either cant drive stick or there is somthing wrond with your trans. honda makes great manual transmissons

  • @2002j30a1

check my drifting vid of my bmw which is stick...i can drive standard i just dont like it,its old technology, and its not getting any newer

why dont they make a actual stick shift but cluthless??? That would be absolutely

    P E R F E C T

  • @mrfoxboy abo the honda's gearbox.

I drove a 2009 Honda CIVIC type R and the gearbox was manual and it was really smooth,i liked that but the thing is that only high spec cars have good manual transmissions

  • @15432Joce

I'm sure you never drove manual in a sticky sitiuation such as avoiding a car crash with a manual then;)

    Oh and one more thing

People will swear that manual is the best BUT they will NEVER tell you that they ever stalled their engine.NEVER,which is funny:))

  • @15432Joce civic si's arent automatic retard

  • @781edawg this car is NOT a Civic Si. It will be a major insult to Si owners if this is. I have a Civic Si (which is, by the way, a LOT more nicer than this one) so 15432Joce is right... automatic SUCKS!

  • @eirenepearle

When you've only got 100 pound feet of torque you can't afford to lose any in the torque converter.

  • the keys!

  • This is normal for the newer Hondas. If you look in the owners manual or "quick start" guide there's probably a note somewhere. Something about reducing emissions at start-up.

  • the car started u faggots

  • Let your foot off the gas pedal

  • its natural for most fuel injected vehicles to rev high for about a minute at most when it starts cold-ish= my 1990 Nissan Stanza does the same thing

  • yeah my 01 civic revs up to about 1500 rpm when its cold

  • and your rear differential.

  • My dad almost bought an 06 civic LX and whenever we went to go for the test drive (only me and him) The car was cranking like crazy for like 10 seconds.

  • how can the car be cranking like crazy for 10 sec? tell your dad to let go of the key when he drives.

  • why would he try to start an engine when it's already started. It's the fucking key that's doing that.

  • ok you dont have to be such a meanie about it D:

lol never heard of a key cranking itself but ok

  • no I never heard about it and never will

  • naw thats just natrual for these civics they just crank weird, but 10 seconds its a little extremem you just have to get used to it, but for this guys problem, check battery or clean terminals....

  • Well for a brand new car I don't think it's maybe for an older car okay. Battery on this guy car should be fine cause he did the video in 2007 and the car is a 2008 so it should be fine.

  • do you have anything non stock attatched to the terminals?

  • no the car was brand new

  • somethin fuel related then, what was did you finally figure was the outcome?

  • I'm sure it's the key because of how the transmitter is place in the key. Cause a key without a transmitter will let you crank the car but won't start so if the car as a hard time reading the transmitter it will crank 'till he can read it completly. But except that the car is fun to drive but my dad didn't get it cause they didn't give enough for his escape.

  • sweet english and grammar

    F-

  • boring

  • Wow,,, Do you know anything about cars....you should allow the computer to gather data from all the senors or you just have a very cheap battery that have very low CCA. Plus It very normal for the car to idle at 1500... It call cold idle were the car need to warm up..... ^_^

  • great u bought a automatique honda lolololol

  • bkuz its cheap.. but ...

  • You should turn the key halfway first to let the computer warm up a bit first, after the beeping stops, turn the key all the way to start the engine.

  • warm computer .... LOL , who tell you that XD , hope it sell you a computer blockheater LOL .. don't forget to preheat the radio before turn it on

  • my dealer

  • computer don't need to warm up, anyone tell you that juss bulls***t you , if your car does not start , its propably a key issue or antitheft problem that cut fuelpump or just won't let the car start , your dealer tell you just see exit with a smile and nor a 100 $ bill ... Honda car are not the GOD car , thay have lot of problem too

  • wow yeah it makes perfect sense to believe you more than a dealer's technicians who have actually worked with Honda's before. From what I can tell, you can't even write English correctly so I'll just stick to my dealer's advice

  • keep wasting your money to your dealer with WARMING UP COMPUTER ... ITS NOT A ENGINE ITS A COMPUTER do you warm up your PC before start them ... i hope you will pay 2000 $ each year in repair with this kind of stupid information , warming up computer , warming up your seat belt before seat down ... a** hole

  • and don't forget before start turn half the key , open the close the door 3 time , clap your hand , press the hazards button , say I LOVE HONDA and then it will start ;) its 100 $ for the repair advice ;)

  • You forgot to do the hokey pokey, but thats an extra 25$

  • You dont know what your talking about ! You want your computer as hot as possible i hard wired a soldering iron to my computer for those cold morning. Check your blinker fluid and make sure your muffler bearings are properly lubed. The radio on the other hand should be preheated in a 450 degree for 10-15 minutes before using it, 20-30 minutes if you are playing classical or easy listening. dont forget to rotate your spark plugs every hour of driving.

  • hahaha

oh and dont forget to check piston cable... rpm gauge wont be working ;)

  • Yes, yes, Advice to live by :)

  • The muffler bearings are very important.

  • not to warm but more to earn data from the sensor

  • Go and call Honda

  • yes not the new civics i dont have a problem with those at all, its the old civic that every one and their dog drives

  • a car that doesnt even come stock with a tac kind of bothers me, i doesnt prove to me that hondas are built for speed haha but if a honda can run a 7 sec qtr, then i will give it respect,

that takes a ton of work!

  • before 2000 a lot of cars didnt have tac. Nissan sentra, some honda, some ford focus.. who cares? They are not built for speed.

  • and i rest my case, you said the exact point i was making, not built for speed

  • I heard that the accord can have a hard start because of the immobilizer. I don't know if it could be the same problem as yours. All because of the key.

  • civic and camry are not the same type of car

  • where did you hear that from because its not true camry is still the #1 car nd the F-150 is still the #1 truck and has been for 30 years not a decade

  • same happened to me :s except mine is manual.

  • yea i guess your right, i cant stop seeing honda's as crappy ricers. sorry for arguement.

  • fwd 4 cyl wont do 7 second quater mile you dumbass, holy fuck lol there was a suped up turbo front wheel drive crx, tube frame and everything, it was running 10-13's it beat a mustang then lost horribly to a camaro. trust me honda's arent that great. audi and chevy are much better, not as 1 dimesional aswell

  • 8 seconds is weak for modern drag strip times, + you they cant 4x4 or move any thing, acura is nissan isent it?

  • to bad hondas are for old ladies. they dont drag, they dont drift, they dont haul or 4x4, they dont really do anything cool, well there cheap to drive so if you have no soul about vehicle buying then honda works for you.

  • 4x4 + v8 are sweet, there not failed white kid cars that like honda because its cheap on gas. Honda is a trashy brand of vehicle, they suck compared to nissan, mazda, audi and of those other cars are better. Honda makes shit 4x4 vehicles and you no it... well shitty vehicles period ( no offensece to guy who made the video )

  • whoops i marked some ones comment as spam by mistake, sorry

  • hmm my 94 blazer has 240,000 miles and we've only replaced the 50 doller water pump.. dam your right they do suck, and jeez it has 4x4 and a v8, why didn't i buy a honda

  • that tach looks like a neon in vegas

  • We have had very good luck w/ American cars. My 94 Ranger has 153,000 miles on it, no problems, 2000 Dodge Dakota, 116,000 miles, not a single problem, 2005 Ford Freestyle, 62,000 miles, no problems

  • rofl who drives with automatik :D:D

  • american car companies are dying because they still cant meet the standards of japanese cars! hondas and toyotas will soon cover the US!

  • to bad you probly dont drive a car.

  • the engine will die out if it half starts. especially when cold. you have to wait until all 4 cylenders are firing. geez why do so many ppl have trouble starting their cars.

  • I forgot to mention...i had a Chevy S10 that also blew a tranny at 85K. I never towed with the truck either. Just one day...bam. No OD, then shakey 2nd gear. Then no gears. Its sad when you try to buy American to support your country, and terrible, terrible things happen to them.

  • I've owned a Pontiac Grand Am, a Chevy Lumina, and a Cavalier that all had either massive tranny or engine problems, and i baby my cars. Makes me ashamed of American built cars.

  • no, you shood be ashamed of your chevy cars, buy a FORD!

  • Did you ever find out what was wrong? Mine didn't start on the first try tonight.

  • Am I missing something here? It started just fine.

  • 1) your english sucks. 2) japan only allows american made cars if theyre slapped with a huge terrif. 3) yes, ive driven a honda it had barely any power. my aunt had a honda and the thing was less than a year old and rattled everywhere. and gas mileage? my buick regal gets 33 mpg highway and has twice the space of a honda civic or toyota camry.

  • why post a stupid fuckin vid like this, wanker

  • Shit, I want that instrument cluster.

  • hondas suck. they have so many problems yet people still consider them so reliable. buy an american car. honestly, there is hardly any difference in quality if the cost is below 30k. if america loses GM and other big names it will be deadly. also, japan doesnt allow american made cars in their country. so while people worship honda the japanese only buy their cars while we pour in money to them too.

  • okay but honda is still beast

love the civic si and the accord and the pilot

the car fails 1 in a million you cant help that American cars fail 1 in a 100

and this is coing out of an American's mouth

  • This comment is so beyond logical thinking it's ridiculous, of course Japan imports American cars, and yes we should buy American cars as I just got laid off yesterday because of troubles at GM, but be fair, Honda as a manufacturer makes very solid vehicles, They don't have very many problems at all and they last a very long time, most of the time the engine will actually outlast the body, I own a 2002 Mustang GT and a 1995 Honda Civic

  • 1) You can buy american cars in Japan. Japan has a free market!

    2) Just like in Europe, there is not very much will to buy a unsafe, tursty ugly much to big american GM car in Japan

    3) Have you actually drived a Honda once?

11 years, not a single problem.

Buy such a fancy all-american PT Cruiser, and you can every winterday start him with your hairdryer...

  • 1)your english is terrible. 2) your fucking stupid if you think american cars are unreliable, stop living in the 80s. my car and my familys cars never have problems, including my dads chrystler that had close to 300 thousand miles on it. 3) GM has nice looking cars and not all of them are trucks and SUVs. toyota and honda have trucks and SUVs as well do they not? 4) yes, ive driven hondas, they have little power and suck. 5) my buick regal has no problem in the winter at all, curtisy of detroit

  • 1) Maybe I don't live in an Engish speaking country? Do I expact you to speak german, dutch or french fluent? Pax america patriot.

2)Maybe not that much unreliable as they once where, but it would surprise me if an american car could level the quality of a Honda.

    3) GM is about to go banruptcy and with reason if you ask me.

    4) Honda is the Power of dream. Buy their CRX if you want power. But for a responsible driver, my 66kw Civic is fine to me.

    5) Buick Regal? The ultimat gangsta car...

  • whattt the crx is just light. they get owned all the time. and no, my regal is an 02. not the 80s kind. so its not really gangsta... but the reason these companies are in such bad shape is because they pay their workers health benefits, adding more to their cost and theyre stereoyped as being bad on fuel economy. GM is bad, but companies like chevy and saturn have very good cars. the public just thinks that only japan has fuel efficient cars, even though gas has dropped considerably. only $1.80

  • Problem in Europe with american cars, is the are just not addapted to our roads...

American roads are straight. Is not really a problem then to have a very large powerful czr then.

However, with the many mediaval based roads in europe, you are beter with a light manouvable car.

Yes an American car has a strong chassis and rather simple mecanics. I believe those elements are essential for an american car.

Their look is a matter of taste...

Guess lots depends on what you expact of a car...

  • if you dont buy honda or toyota...at least! stay away from pontiac, chevy, and especially dodge my butthole

  • i will buy honda in 3 months, but i dont know if i still want it. The SI has 3rd gear transmission problem and the automatic has problem on turning the engine on. does any one having problem on their honda? reply pls

  • if u are worried about the civics just get a 2 door honda accord 4 cyl or 6

  • the 3rd gear problem was fixed ages ago. and this civic doesn't look like it has a starting problem its the guy turning the key. all of the newer hondas you have to hold down the key a little bit longer than the old ones because all of the new ones have some technology that doesn't waste too much gas when you turn on the engine. i would hold down the ignition half a second longer any day than waste gas every time i start my car

  • you didn't hold the key down long enough, all newer hondas have some kinda emissions control system when the engine is turned on. so you don't waste more gas than needed to start your engine but the only downside is you have to hold it there for a little bit, small downside if it saves you a penny or 2 every time you start your engine

  • Well, Hondas generally are reliable cars but I've had some bad ones in the past but they kept on going and going even with problems. I had a 1983 Honda Civic wagon with 214,583 miles on it and I totalled that thing. I currently have a 2000 Honda Civic EX coupe and it hasn't died on me, except the battery failed because it was so old. It's a very reliable car. Try getting a 1997 Chevy Calivier and come back to me later.

  • One of my friends had a 1997 Cavilier and it was a nightmare.

  • lol my 2002 honda civic si owns that it never quits =)

  • warranty...that's why you got a new car right...not just so it looks good....right?

  • or the emergency fuel valve closed.

  • this happened to me, battery was dead from leaving light on, battery needed some water

i agree that something might have gotten in your tank, though.

  • F*** you Chevy haters

  • was it locked?

  • You have water in your fuel

  • how do you know this?????

  • Trust me syphen all your gas out and if its milky at all your car may have been sabotaged or condensation

  • I have 2 honda pilot from 2003 and 2005 and a 2008 civic and all of them works great ,not even one problem in 130.000 miles . The engine still smells like new after 8 years .

  • hey I had an 06 civic si and that thing was the a piece of shit...it had to have a 3 brand new engines put in it from the dealership. the first time it broke down at 4500 miles....it was a complete mess ppl from honda hq came out....It would breakdown like every 5000 miles....I think I had 22,000 mile on it when I got rid of that nightmare.....no civics never again!.....but new Accord is the shit! fosho =D

  • No this Civic is the worst car to released i many years . SOOOOOOOOOO much trouble whit it .

And it`s cramped like F**K !!!!!! Horrible hateful hateful ugly crap car .

  • Just shows how overrated and undeservly loved Honda is , they are horrible . Why is peple like Honda when they are so extremly bad ? I would never buy a Honda because of this engine problems and the new Accord and CrapVic are extremly cramped too , so cramped that won`t even fit inside them , neighter in the front or the back .

  • I am having the exact same prob with my 2008 Civic! I love Hondas but I am not completely satisfied with this car...

  • when i pick mine at the dealer it happened to me too ... but the salesman just moved the wheel a lil hard n it kinda unmlocked ..... after that i could start it normally n never had that problem again .... except one time when i shut the engine down in drive :D

  • doesnt this one come with push button start?

  • nope, key

  • That guy is god damn right thumbs up dude

  • i am an automotive engineer works for delara chassis, inc. ...thanks for the intelligent comment....

  • ....that can define some things and prolong ownership satisfaction....but poor engineering, lack of world-class build quality and low pride in manufacturing is not something you can change by treating the car with t.l.c.

  • Honda and Toyota are the most reliable cars in the world. Why do you think MOST Americans end up buying Asian cars over Americans? Because asian cars are reliable and looks great. Americans cars are crappy, sorry but its the truth.

  • it is the trust..........

  • agreed.....and who cares where the damn thing is made....you want a great camera..japan....great washing machine...usa.....just research it and make the smart purchase..and dont worry about the flag syndrome...

  • Civic are one of my fav cars.

  • facts don't lie....stats prove its reliability.....want cheap....unreliable...poor fit and finish...lousy engineering? get a jeep, dodge, or pontiac

  • especially dodge

  • go HONDAS, most reliable jap car out there!
