you are super cool yummypopcorn! i've been using aloe for almost a year and i found a real easy way to clean it. use a veggie peeler on the bottom side and peel off to the edges. then take a big sharp knife and fillet the gel like a fish! you get the whole inside in one piece and it only takes maybe 5 or 6 peels with the peeler. hope this helps :)
use smaller knife, place plant on cutting board, press sides down to make it flatter and try to skin it along the grain in single motion, like you will skin fish. then scoop also along the grain. it will be much faster & less messy.
I am also a big fan of the aloe vera plant, but I use it as a facial when im about to get some pimples but you have to used it daily for about a week and repeat it after two weeks, for it to work and some mouisturiser after you wash it out.If you wanna used it as a spray I WOULDNT recomend it for colored hair because aloe will take the color faster but other than its good it also make your hair grow.

If you don't want to massacre your aloe plant (lol) you can get a ready made aloe spray for your hair, it's called 'Aloe First' . It's got stabilized aloe, so it's safe and pure and has herbs added and is fab on my hair! Check out my channel for info.
Miss Yumy, that is one huge Aloe Vera leaf. Does it grow in the garden where you live? I just returned from Thailand and my Thai friend's garden was full of it. Came in handy when I burnt my leg on my motorbike exhaust. Great vids by the way.
You are a very nice Lady! Thank You for your videos. I feel we have the same type of hair I do want to keep putting draw string ponytails in my hair till I get some length to my own hair so if you have tips on that I would love to hear what you think.
when i use it in my hair i don't boil the plant firstt but when i use it for my face, i gotta boil it for about 5 minutes or so, and my skin is soft and also the pimples disappears. You should try it
hi yumypopcorn, it looks as if your aloe vera has on a tag on it which leads me to believe that you bought it haha, i am from jamaica but live in st vincent(west indies) down here aloe vera plant is so commonly grown in people's yard. I like your video and its nice that you are using the natural plant than buying processed hair products. I also use aloe vera for my skin, but i boil it for a while first caz i got sensitive skin.
Wow, I never known that aloe vera leaf is that big. Mine is much smaller than that. That leaf is huge. I use a butter knife over a spoon; therefore, I get more of the aloe vera flesh, than the spoon can.
I tried your spray and love it!!! I have tried the oil ones and they don't work for me either - and I hate sliding across the floor after I spray. This aloe spray seems to make my hair stronger - use it w/moisturizer for twists - THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH.
I use a potato peeler it's easier.

aloe vera is easier to cut with a duller knife...not sure about a butter knife...but dull knifes work better, they're easier to slice with
