I love Anno 1602! I like the 2D Graphics and the difficulty.

I think Anno 1602 is better than Anno 1701. Anno 1701 looks like it's made for 3 old children ^^ Of cause, Anno 1701 has much better Graphics but I played the demo and after some minutes I got bored and de-installed it!

Anno 1602 is never getting boring ;)

You have to have much patience to play because it sometimes takes much time till you can build a big Ship!

btw Does Anno 1602 work on Win7? I hope so

This game is so perfect. Only the battle system lacks a bit more options. The Wii version (Dawn of Discovery) looks totally as a remake of this one.

@6ch6ris6 haven't tried any other platform. Wii version is really similar, with some minor buildings missing like gallows or gold statue and aditions like the irrigation system or the subquests. Also the battle system is new, quite Risk-esque, but overall for me is an improved version of 1602. Watch some youtube videos to find out more.

i like empire earth better but this game is the closest it gets to its awesomeness. can you believe it, the NDS has anno 1404 which looks exactly like this (its on a nintendo DS!!)

1998 was a really good year :) Anno came out, starcraft came out and much more very good games too. Starcraft is the best RTS game ever made.

Anno 1602 is the game i played for over 5 years with completing alot of misions.

But when you've XP or vista or windows 7 it suddenly blacks out :P

Not necessarily, for me on XP it worked just fine. Or you might want to try on a Linux (maybe Ubuntu), under Wine or CrossOver Games.

1602 war Bombe, spiele das heute noch seeehr gern und lange! 1503 danach fand ich nicht so toll... 1701 hab ich gar nicht erst gespielt aber 1404 find ich wieder seeehr gut gemacht meinen Respekt. Und mein Hass an Ubisoft, das ich nur die Demo zocken kann... solange die Publisher iwelche Scheisse einbauem wie Spyware und Installations Limits werd ich die Games nicht kaufen. EA hats schon gelernt und hat aufgehört. C&C AR3 und paar andere müssen also sehr scheisse gelaufen sein.

I love(d) that game! I still have it, but I can't play it, because from Win XP you're not able anymore to install it. Need 98 or 2000. That is sad :(

If you still have a copy of older Windows, you can install this in a virtual machine like VirtualBox.

And run the game in that Virtual machine or copy over the installed folder.

It runs under Win2000 and under Vista (also x64).

So it should also run under XP ;o)

I don't know about installation as I have backed up the game folder for years.
