  • I had not heard of you until I stumbled across this clip.Charlotte you brought me to tears, this was stunningly sung and played. This is my favorite ballad by the Rolling Stones and I've never heard anyone elses cover touch your version. I bet Mick and the boys love it too.You have a brand new fan!

  • @4:22 AMAZING.

  • I love you mamma, love Shane Collins , your the best mother a son could ask for.

  • Easily the most beautiful version of this song that I've ever heard. It seriously almost brought me to tears, especially the acapella portion of the song that starts at 4:02. Absolutely stunning!

  • such a wonderful cover

  • I love this song!

    :)

  • baby got pipes

  • B E A U T I F U L <3

  • Much too princess pretty for me. I don't feel any real adversity in the soul of this singer...I don't believe she can comprehend it.

  • Ive heard so many versions of this song... but this is the only one thats actually made me break down and cry. wow.

  • Beautiful vocals. Thank you for sharing!

  • Great cover! My personal favorite is by The Sundays.

  • 4.03 <3

  • very nice but she has nothing on the Melissa Ethridges of the world.......

  • my dance lyrical solo songgggg <3 <3

  • this is by far the best ever besides the original rollilng stones.....

  • It's a great song and I love any version of it.

  • I like cry when listening to this<3

We're doing this for our majorette routine this year. I'm so happy. This is absolutely beautiful.

  • Charlotte Martin isn't Tori. Charlotte Martin isn't Susan. Charlotte Martin isn't Kate. Charlotte Martin isn't anyone but herself.

People can't appreciate songs without ruining them for everyone else. Post on all CharMar songs you think need to be more famous <3

  • Beautiful cover.

  • one of the best renditions... I also love the way she sings Just like Heaven by the Cure...

  • does anyone have the sheet music? or a link to it?

  • Juste la plus belle version de cette chanson! >.<

  • wonderful

  • She has such an amazing and pure voice - truly fantastic

  • It's really stupid to compare different artists, that's all I really have to say.

  • I agree with the comment just below mine they both have their strengths but i will say Susan boyles version gives me gooseebumps, i just feel it more when she builds her voice, but thats just me.

  • I think Charlotte's and Susan's both have there own strengths. I like both. Charlttes beautiful though.

  • Hey. Dont flood the feed with your arguement.

  • David - of course I'm biased - I'm a fan after all ,and I'm not so arrogant as to be oblivious to this fact. Let's face it ,we come from totally different sides on this and we will never agree. What I think is more interesting is that Susan engenders such passion on botrh sides. At least no one seems indifferent to her. That is good ,because ask any married couple - It is indifference that is the real killer. No more to say on this. Kindest regards!

  • Susan Boyles version is far superior to this. It is beautiful, but perfectly restrained.

Charlotte on the other hand gets carried away, trying to be too clever and actually undermines the excellent effort she put in earlier.

  • @dossery100 ARE YOU KIIDDING?? that talentless fat lump is no better than a second rate pub singer who now acutally beleves her own circus freak hype. Susan Boye is an embarrsement to the country!!!!!

  • @davidrubiomartin That's your opinion and you're entitled to it. But why oh why do you feel it necessary to denigrate the woman in such a way? Don't you think that is really childish? I do. Never mind, have a good day anyway.

  • @dossery100 the show she was "discovered on" has as much musical credibility as the xfactor. Fine i retract the comment regarding her weight but i still stand by the rest.

  • @davidrubiomartin Sorry David, but you just seem a little biased because of Susan's passage to fame. Like many others ,you just seem intent in crucifying her ,on the cross of Simon Cowell. Your comment that she is an embarrassment to her country was really quite ridiculous. Since you made it ,she has been crowned Sony's international artist of the year and Hmm' is Grammy nominated. So embarrassing! - really stupid comment.Maybe ,you will honesty to retract that one also.

  • @dossery100 First of all thankfully i dont pocess the narrow minded arrogance that you seem to have in spades over the almighty brilliance that is Susan Boyle. Oh please and your talking about grammy nominated artists?.. so what. So is Cee Lo Green with that beautyfully haunting track "fuck you" What you seem incapable of wraping your brain round is the clear fact that her voice is at very best, mediocre. She is mearly the product of good marketing and song writers.

  • @davidrubiomartin Just give this some thought. If each of us, in the UK ,generated one tenth of the income generated by Susan Boyle for the country ie 14 million albums shifted worldwide in 14 months- our dreadful deficit would disappear over night. So much, for being an embarrassment to the country. Susan keep on embarrassing us - please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We can't afford you not to.

  • Its so sad so I hate it lol

  • Hate this song

  • This was my lyrical song, for dance, and was the closing for the show. Throughout the whole time my friends and I were crying as we were dancing!!! Such. Sad song :(

  • Wow thank you

  • cryed,....and cryed again y-y

  • good cover!

  • Bela melodia ...

  • she was buffy?

  • Charlotte does such a beautiful version of this epic tune! I saw her in concert several years ago...Jason Mraz was the main event; he's one of my favoirtes too...I saw him play in a little cafe' in California before he was made famous.

  • Charlotte Martin - you ,good you!!

i can listen to this song all day

    (:O

  • Ms.Martin could sing this acappella and she would still bring tears from my heart. Music is indeed the universal language of all people.

  • buffy :(

  • anyone know where i can get an instrumental version of this song? all that i find is the boyle and sundays versions...

  • i hated susan boyel, i thought (and sorry to the susan lovers) she sucked at singing. and i swear to baby jesus if anybody says shes better then lady gaga i will have to punch somebody in the face! lmao

  • @ilyxxMusicLuverxxily She not better than Lady Gaga. She's Way,Way better. Actually she's in an entirely different,(higher) leaque. Sorry, but it's true, you may not like it, but best get used to it. Have a good day!!!!

  • wild horses plaese take me away

  • dios que voz, esta cancion esta de lujo hermosa

  • I <3 this song!

  • way more earthy and passionate than susan boyle's 'operatic' style, and thi song is so much better through a youthful voice. this girl's voice is really lovely

  • Love love this version...10 thumbs up for this artist and version.

  • i think this version is better than the original really.

  • @Dennycranium: The original song is played with guitars drums and a piano.

I prefer the original, some things should just not be messed with (although Charlotte Martin has a BEAUTIFUL voice).

  • haunting version- tough to play with just the piano-song is best when played on an acoustic guitar. Its gonna be tough for me to pick my fav version.

The stripped version? The Sundays? Charlotte?

    Great job

  • IT'S A GOOD VERSION, NOBODY CAN TOP THE STONES, CHARLOTTE, DOES

OK VOICE A LITTLE TINNIY. SORRY GOOD NOT THAT GOOD.

  • such a beautiful and amazing song!

  • Charlotte is far superios

  • wow i'm crying

  • I love her version of this classic song...I saw her in Flagstaff a few years ago; she came to town with Jason Mraz...he's one of my favorites (I saw him before he became famous)!

  • So, did everyone have an aneurysm and forget that Charlotte's version is also a cover? I think her version is better than the stones version, but that is my opinion, so it doesn't matter one way or the other. Get over it.

  • @acercrea1 well u probably think that cause she is a better singer than whats his face and i 100 percent mean that for all u rolling stone fags who think im sayin it to get a rise out of you

  • dude charlotte martin is way better at singing then susan boyle!!

  • sorry...I like BOTH versions...it's like the difference between a t-bone steak and a rib eye steak...they're both great steaks, but are best for different times.

  • @elaisa1961 Thumbs up for comparing music to steak. I use sexual metaphors to make my point : )

  • this is nice :}

  • Susan sounds ok....but Charlotte is AMAZING i love this song!!!!

  • beautiful!

  • love her. her voice is so pure... love these words...

  • I Love this song!!

  • i love this song! this version is WAY better then the susan boyle one...this is WAY WAY WAY better! susan boyles version doesnt even compare!

  • she is fucking great.

  • L-O-V-E CharMar! <3

  • Hey Guys!

I'm in love with this song! If you go to my page, I do a cover of it in my "Room 5" video!

Check out some of my original music and let me know what you think! Thanks!!

    OfficialAlexHopkins

  • This is the version I first heard this song. It remains my favorite

  • beautiful cover, song composed by Rolling Stones! ;) By Italy

  • WOW.....This version is just beautiful!!!! Wish I could sing like that, I would serenade to myself all day long ;-)

  • I like it

  • Great version, sounds close to Susan but different enough, beautifully sung 5 stars from me.

Watched a great version of this by a 15 year old called Sarah Billington.

  • @vanizorc

I must disappoint you. Charlotte was not the first to come up with that song as it was composed 1970 by the Rolling Stones.

But Charlotte was the first to come up with that song in this beautiful Tori Amos stile. And Susan Boyles version obviously covers Charlotte's version. I like both, but I prefer Susann's version a little bit more as it is much more dramatic.

  • Chantal Kreviazuk has been playing this version since 1996.

    and KILLS it.

  • similar but different to charlotte's version, especially the chorus.

boyle's version is almost identical to charlotte's.

  • one of the best versions of wild horses i've heard.

boyle's version is obviously a direct copy of it and not as good imo.

  • It is more raw than Susan Boyle's version I think. Excellent. I like them both for different reasons. I love the way Charlotte says 'horrrses'! :)

  • **By "tune", I mean "version."**

  • Both Susan Boyle's and Charlotte Martin's versions have their own unique pros and cons, but personally speaking, I find Boyle's more haunting. But I give props to Charlotte for coming up with such a beautiful tune first.

  • so beautifully raw ~ favourite version =]

  • The BEST Cover for "White Horses"!

  • I really love susan boyles version of this song, but Charlottes is more pure and natural!! Bravo!!

  • Sorry, but Charlotte owns Susan.

  • @geekoftheweek27 I found this song searching for james dean on You tube Years ago Way before Susan Boyel did it its in C minor same key and the same flavor ,When I first herd it she remind me of kate Bush , But Susan Boyle Is nothing to not hear on this song Susan Boyle is a wonderful singer Charlotte Martin, kate Bush and Susan Boyle all are Wild Horses all three have great talents Susan is just so moody makes her very interesting , She is a joy to hear and watch Love Susan Boyle very much!!

  • @geekoftheweek27 and Jewel owns them both

  • i like CM version but i love SB's version more

  • @Chickofmanywonders ...But CM is a Pianist also!

  • no im saying its not because of the piano but because SB her voice gets across to you also its stronger has alot more amotion(srry its spelled wrong) to it then CM thats all (no offence if u think diff)

  • Have to say i prefer the Rolling Stones version-gives me goose bumps every time i hear it.

  • I love Susan Boyle, but this is obviously a more beautiful, heartfelt version. My schools colorguard does a routine to is, because it's so beautiful and easy to flow with.

  • Although I like Susan, and both version are good in their own right. but I prefer Charlottes rendition over Susans. Wild Horses is a song for rebellious youth asking for freedom from their overprotective yet restrictive parents. Susans smooth tone is somehow unable to deliver such mood.

  • Done with all her heart and soul;and my tear. Thank you young lady, from 70bonnie.

  • I doubt Susan Boyle selects any songs. She's just a puppet singer for the suits.

  • @manco82 With a voice like hers - who cares?

  • At least Charlotte does not look anything like Jeremy Clarkson ,therefore a lot more pleasing to listen to or even Kiss..Should you get the chance ...Kiss Jeremy/Susan Boyle or Charlotte your choice...I know what my choice would be...

  • I actually perfer susan boyle singing this song. I dont know why but I just perfer the tone in her voice better.

  • i liked the Susan Boyle version heard it on Americas got talent...was randomly reading comments and found mention of this...wow Susan either obliviously made an identical cover to this or blatantly ripped this off...They are both practically identical. beautiful stuff...thanks Susan for causing me to inadvertently find me this women ;p I'm a fan.

  • chills :P

  • Charlotte blows away Susan Boyle in any department.

  • Im a Brit, and im sorry this is a million times better than SuBos - I love the song so any version I'll probably like. But as this and SB are practically the same cover - this is better.

  • This is just so much better. Truly exquisite.

  • I have literally just bought this song online because I was looking at Susan Boyle's version and someone mentioned hers ripped off this track. This is a much better performance - the emotion in it makes tears come to my eyes for only the second time this year by a song!! Thanks you tube - if it wasn't for you i would have never have discovered it and bought it. Who says youtube prevents artists from making money - rubbish!

  • I'm going to see her play this saturday at the Pablove benefit show

  • Wow moment at 4:00. Very intense.

  • Does anyone know from where I can get notes of her songs,it's so beautiful and I play piano a little,so I'd be glad if someone could help me. Thank you.

  • i really dont think susans version is superior. Charlottes version is more nihilistic but with more emotion, I love this version and btw I really dont like the way susan prenounces some words, I feel likie Charlotte really understood and felt this song.

    good job

  • I love the piano! Beautiful voice too. Why has this version never been mentioned in the cover comparisons since Susan Boyle's release? I prefer Susan's voice and would love to hear these two sing together

  • But still, SuBo sounds better than this, period, as you yanks like to say!

  • I love how people think Susan Boyle herself ripped this off. Susan is just a pawn, she sings what she is told to sing.

Do you really think a little old lady from Scotland had any say whatsoever in the direction of her album? They just want to make money out of her.

  • b e a utiful

  • Andyaabba76, what do you mean, because they are British?

  • chalotte it is a great cover - YOUR cover, and I thank you you for that....Thanks to madforbooks for posting it!

  • It never bothers me if someone sings a cover, it's the emotional and personal feel that makes a song, and this woman sang her soul out. I can very much appreciate that. No comparisons need be done, when each person sings from their heart as this woman did. I't was truly something.

  • Not bad arrnagement-- Susan Boyles arrangement improves upon this one-- remember - it is a Rolling Stones song-- and thus that means that Charlotte's version is also a cover version. but Susan's version is superior-- (slightly anyway)

  • its a shame that she is getting no credit for this amazing cover

  • Cover bands don't get the same bashing that you guys are giving her... Her album's called "I dreamed a dream" Did you honestly think she wrote that song too? If you did you're all morons. Covering has been around since I can remember... Susan does a great cover of this song, and should not be taking this kind of stuff from you morons.

  • @watakanata Susan does a horrible cover of this song. It doesn't do the song justice at all. Basically she is getting credit for the song because it is a beautiful song. Not because she sings it well. I only wish that Charlotte got the publicity the Susan does

  • and now Susan Boyle has copied this exact arrangement that Charlotte composed!!!!

  • Susan Boyle may well have been influenced by this arrangement, but hers is hardly an "exact copy." And Susan sings more smoothly and with more emotinal clarity and discipline.

  • LOOOOOVE IT! <3333

  • Sorry, but she couldn't help but do unnecessary vocal gymnastics at the end so ruining and otherwise excellent effort.

  • This song is so calming.

  • best version

  • best bloody cover... ever.... heaven... i love, love, love this... tears... :)

  • she is so talented!

  • beautiful version

  • wow...
