  • hi can i ask whatt do u use to edit ur vids

  • @TechTV9 I used iMovie for this video.

  • I did da same test n i got lik 19087 on da top one n bottom was like 1096 or so

  • 1:50 what was that

  • Wifi was obviously faster

  • As I have unlimited internet with at&t on my iphone, I don't use the 3g of my ipad because I will lose the unlimited internet of my iphone. What I do is use the The 3g of my iphone when I don't have wifi access.

  • do u have to have a plan with AT&T to use 3G....im guessing so

  • Wifi é o melhor é claro

  • If anyone can tell me if I have a wifi iPad 2 will have Internet anywhere?

  • @Kuikli2 u will only have internet at home if u have a wireless router, if u got ipad 2 with wi-fi and 3g then u will get internet anywhere,

  • can you just put your iphone 4 sim card in it and if so will the 3g work on it???

    plz answer thank you.

  • 1:49 dog bark????

  • resumo: wi-fi é bem melhor que 3G

  • YOU ARE SUPER

  • i cant get wifi for anywhere on iPad 1 ?

  • This video could confuse some people since it looks like it wants to say the iPad is available as either WiFi or 3G model. In fact it is available as a WiFi or WiFi+3G. So one model only has WiFi connectivity (you can access the Internet by connecting through a WiFi network) and the other model has both WiFi and 3G capabilty (WiFi connectivity through your wireless LAN at home or 3G connectivity through your 3G carrier if you're on a boat in the middle of the ocean or on a bench in a park).

  • im thinking of buying an ipad2 from verizon but some people say att is better which one sould i get? ( verizon: 10 att:1 !!!)

  • Hey, i was thinking of getting an ipad 2 off of the three network company but I don't know if 15gb per month would be enough the cost is 12.50 per month. Do you know any better deals than that? thanks!

  • @igadgettricks You're in the UK so I can't advise you, but that sounds like an incredible deal. In the US, 10GB/month on Verizon is possible for I believe $60/month.

  • @igadgettricks hey where do you find that on 3 i am curretnly subscribed that plan sounds pretty good i am in uk as well dont want to pay those roaming rates from att

  • @igadgettricks i know its an old comment but 15gb on an ipad is not that much, if you also download the most of your apps at home you should be more than fine :D

  • I imagine streaming video could get pretty pricey over 3g anyway.

  • @DejectedPanda It will absolutely eat up your montly data quota, 2GB is nothing if you stream video over 3G. I'm fortunate to have unlimited, but that is no longer available.

  • I would so get the ipad 2 with wifi only, 3g seems the lesser of wifi compared to quality, speed, and even app usage!!

  • would you get a 32gb wifi and 3g or ipad 2 with wifi 32gb

  • @commandokid23 3G is unnecessary for almost 75% of iPad users. It decreases battery life like air when surfing with 3G, twice as slow as Wi-Fi, pretty expensive data roaming monthly contract (at least £15-20), and you pay almost £100 more just to get the 3G iPad. By the way, most places nowadays have Wi-Fi available, such as coffee shops, hotels, airports, offices, etc. In the UK, there are over 2 million Wi-Fi hotspots and counting. IMO, get the Wi-Fi only model. You'll save money! :D

  • @sUpErHeRo15xx You certainly have a point, but if you take your iPad out of the house, it's great to have absolute freedom to stay connected. It's hard to judge the value on it however, I would say I don't get my money's worth because I don't end up using it too much outside of home...but I still want that freedom of mobility.

  • @commandokid23 I would get iPad 2...3G can be gained through tethering on your smartphone now if you decide you need it.

  • @DetroitBORG thanks i got my ipad 2 on launch i love it since i sold my original ipad, and i do have a smart phone so thanks for the tip about wifi through the phone.

  • @DetroitBORG Nice Video.....I was just wondering after seeing this vid do you think I should get the 3g/wifi model of the ps vita or the wifi only ps vita.......I want the device for gaming wise...so I can play anywhere but it cost 300....Wifi only cost 250..I'm not used to 3g at all....So if you can answer this last question aswell I would be very greatful....How did the 3g even get on your ipad..did they have to install it on your Ipad Some how or do they have to see your Ipad to activate It

  • Why have you two iPads? oO

Do you sell me one of this? :)

And as well in one week the iPad 2 release! :D

  • @UebertreibenChannel1 I bought one when it came out April 1st, and the 3G version when it came out April 30th. I'm planning to keep both for now, and buy iPad 2.

  • Nice video. I find it helpful to see what other marketers and trainers are posting. Thanks!

  • Although even the 3G is slower than the wifi, you can use 3G to go on internet everywhere.

  • i know ipad is here hes using it right now ....

  • what dose 3g actualy do please reply I need to dcide but I dont know what it dose please help all it looka like it dose is put some plastic on and make it run slower please please please reply as I dont whant to make the rong decision

  • @beatdash102 With wi-fi you need to be next to a "wireless" internet port.

For 3G you can access internet wherever you are. on the bus, in the middle of the highway etc... (as long as there is coverage)

  • it's only internet test not testing between the wifi model against 3g model. this should be name the test for internet test between local wifi and 3g network not the device test . the device is only used not test hahaha

  • of cores wifi is faster but you cant use wifi with out wireless router

  • @XDJxEKOX. I know that shitbird. How is that relevent ?

  • In his head this guys pissed that he blew another 700 some bucks.

  • And you have to think about what speed u got on the WiFi too. ;) And btw... This i don't know for sure, but on iPhone if it's jailbreaked you can download an app from "Cydia" so the 3G quality is as good as WiFi, if you wanted to know that. ;)

  • And you have to think about what speed u got on the WiFi too. ;)

  • now u have to remember that hes on his own WiFi at home that no one is using but himself, and on a 3g at&t that multiple people are using around the world. A better comperison would be going to a coffee shop with other people on the WiFi and then deside wich ones better

  • @area51topAlien There really is no controled way of testing the variability of these networks, this was mostly done to demonstrate the effect of latency on these different networks.

  • @area51topAlien dude ur paying for 3g which is designed for multiple ppl around the world, that isnt supposed to make a difference. its a fail.

  • your 3g network is better than my wired internet haha

  • try comparing 3g with wiFi in antartica =D

  • It's actually ok to have 3G...it's jz for ur inconvenience when u r outside...

  • I see iPad 3G and iPad Wifi Background is same but its different photo ;-)

  • so which one is better 3g or wifi???

  • @megajacky101 They are the same devices beyond one having 3G and the other not, so it's up to you. I recommend the 3G version just incase you decide you need to activate the feature.

  • @DetroitBORG when u get the wifi only model do u have to connect to the local wifi or is it connected already???

  • @megajacky101 You will need to select your wireless network and enter a password if neccessary.

  • @DetroitBORG but i don't know my password

  • the wifi one beats the 3g for shit sucked in all u people who paid more money for a way slowed device

  • @glambamcatamnosh The 3G model has the same WiFi Speed as the WiFi model, but 3G enables internet access everywhere...good speed is better than no speed.

  • @DetroitBORG yes but 3G is twice as slow as WIFI, costs a sh*t load of money to buy the data plan/ipad, and eats up battery like air. Although you can turn 3G off, in my opinion most people can survive with the WIFI only model.

  • @DetroitBORG Well the speed can be the same, but 3g reception isn't allways good everywhere.

  • @glambamcatamnosh You dumb shit the wifi performance is the same on both, in this vid the 3g one had the wifi disabled, so we have paid for a device that stays connected everywhere

  • @glambamcatamnosh iPad 3g + wifi and iPad wifi has the same speed when using the same connection but in this video it is more on 3g vs wifi speed. iPad wifi + 3g is better because you can use internet everywhere

  • @6insane6freak6 I have the same question, i think you have to buy a whole new ipad because the 3g model has that black window on the back and i think you have to have that to have 3g, but that what i think

  • can i have one of that..pls

  • nice bro but ipad wifi is better

  • @nazoojan89 WiFi will always be faster, but cellular internet is far more flexible so it's nice to have.

  • Everyone who says that ipad wifi rulez, hey, are you stupid?, an ipad wifi+3g will have internet in anymoment, and you will choose wifi to have the same speed as the ipad wifi, come on, don´t be jelous!

  • Comment removed

  • @6insane6freak6 No. because the regular ipad with wifi does not have the 3g hardwaree installed.

  • If the 3G model comes with wifi also, why couldn't it connect you to that app?? Was your Wifi turned off at the time??

  • Thanks for posting. This video helped me make up my mind. I'd rather have the wi-fi model.

  • I have a little question: Can I use the Ipad 3g in mode wifi? And if the answer is "yes", the Ipad 3g in mode wi-fi speeds become how the speed of the normal Ipad wi-fi?

  • @pincius92 The WiFi Speed depends on your service, the iPad's maximum WiFi speed is 12mbps, it can't go higher than that.

  • you can still connect a 3g one to wifi right?

  • of course Wi-Fi is faster, because the signal of Wi-Fi is much better than 3G, because you`re close from the modem, and far from the 3G tower

  • 3g is better you can go on the internet anywhere also the app store

  • doesnt the test depend upon your internet speed on the wifi? ie i have a 25mb line therefore my wifi is lightning fast in wifi, what internet speed do u have as part of the wifi?

  • wow the 3g sucks

  • How do u get those little bookmark tabs on underneath ur web address bar? My iPad doesn't have that other than the regular bookmark thing. I have a wifi iPad

  • @6insane6freak6 I suggest you get mifi which makes a wifi hotspot from 3G connection

  • are those ipads both yours or one of them your friends?

  • @6insane6freak6 No, the WiFi Only iPad doesn't have the 3G hardware. You could get a Verizon MiFi or other mobile internet hotspot, but it typically costs much more.

  • @DetroitBORG what is the app that connects to your mac?? please respond

  • i would get 3g becuase u would have wifi with ipad 3g anyways

  • You could've tested the app at 6:22 by jailbreaking the iPad and getting 3G unrestricted cracked.

  • to me either Wifi + 3g or Wifi version ipad are same speed... but it depands on your internet speed....

  • ipad wifi is better!

  • @reem8293 why?

  • @reem8293 you say that because you don't have the money to buy the 3g

  • @H3MetalC0rE no the wi fi is faster than the 3g

  • @reem8293 Ipad wifi does not have wireless so that kinda makes 3g better

  • @reem8293 not really. its faster but not better

  • @Penguin3366 I think so, can't complain. Latency is a bigger issue which is not easily cured with cellular data.

  • Looking at the speed of the 3g on the ipad i think it is pretty quick compared to 3g on iphone, however i think that it all depends on what your home connection is like and what 3g is like in your area and connection levels so i dont think its fair to say that 3g is quicker i think it depends on your location cool video some goood info :) thumbs up

  • So which one is faster the 3g model or the just plain wifi model im confused?

  • @dredre142 The 3G model adds a cellular antenna and a GPS chip, there is otherwise no difference between the two.

  • why does one of them has the a black thing on the top : / and the other one doesnt?

  • @jklhklb the 1 on the left has the black thing on top cuz its the 3G version. the black thing r the radios for the 3G to work.

  • Stop whining about the price...It's much much lower than it is in Europe

  • if only the avverage joe could affford one of these. i wish i could cause i live in cold ass colorado so you dont want to go outside nothing to do

PS how do you get 2 damn

  • @cat101ism I bought two of them because the 3G came out a month after the WiFi version, so I ended up buying both.

  • @DetroitBORG that sucks, you should've waited.

  • awsome that 3G sucks XD

  • i dont get this test. the 3g model can match the wifi model at everything, the 3g is just an added extra that can be used where wifi is not available.

it also depends on the wifi speed, you might be at home getting 5mb, but what about if you are in college and need 3g and it's 3mb, that would be very ideal!

question, in the uk, can you pick and choose when to purchase bandwidth on the 3g plan or do you constantly have to buy it?

  • @moulinyan This was mostly done to illustrate the latency differences between WiFi and 3G, speed is otherwise very variable on WiFi.

As for the UK data plans for the iPad, I am not at all familiar with them. You are not under contract so you can cancel or limit your data plan at will. In the US, you pay monthly and may cancel at anytime.

  • Make that test in Sahara desert with 3G and no wi-fi ;)

  • @stanek007 I'll get on that ;)

  • @DetroitBORG ok, i bet wi-fi would be faster xd

  • @stanek007 OOH try it in south New Mexico or central Nevada or the rest of the country with the so-called "yokels" who don't get att signal at all or even 3g verizon with iphone... i'd get one

  • @stanek007 And no 3G coverage either ;)

  • @Jonesy0708 ee..i bet there is some 3g coverage in Sahara desert :D

  • @stanek007 Do you think there is 3G reception there? Nice thinking, you need satellite shit dude

  • no mamen ke dedos tan chuekos jajaja

  • brilliant test.

  • Not too surprising.

Wi-fi comes from your router next door, and covers your house

3G comes from a satellite 250 miles from the earth, and covers every AT&T user in the US.

  • @frenchfrys12 The 3G network is served by cellular towers connected to terrestial lines, satelites are not involved. And 3G speeds are largley limited to the speck and limitation of the technology.

  • @frenchfrys12 rejected

  • If you were to connect the 3G model to a WiFi network, would it preform just as quickly as the normal WiFi model, or is it just the 3G model in general that is slower.

  • @iSweatREDBULL The WiFi speeds are the same on both devices.

  • im sorry why do you need two ipads there freckin computers and the wifi is working great + why 64gb waste of money

  • @MrHamsterpower I bought the WiFi when it came out the first day, and the 3G when it came out a month later. I like them, why not have two if you can use them?

  • @DetroitBORG Or you can sell your 'wifi only' ipad, and keep the wifi+3g ipad since that one does both. :)

  • HAVE A CONTEST TO WIN ONE PLEASE!!!!!!!

  • please answer me whats the diffrents of ipad wifi and 3g`????

  • @FanFotball The iPad 3G has a GPS receiver and 3G anteanna built in, the WiFi iPad does not...that's the only differnece.

  • why did u recive these things to review and that stuff i want to recive ipads ipods iphones macs etc... for reviews and promo, how did you do that

  • @reno911unlocred All of these Apple products are purchased by me, I didn't receive them free for review.

  • Why would you buy two Ipad's? Thats a waste of $600. Just buy the one with WiFi and be happy with it. Why buy two?

  • @Wiimen95 I bought the WiFi iPad when it was first available, an then i bought the 3G iPad when it came out a month later.

  • @DetroitBORG Well can I have one? Lol

  • @Wiimen95 Your just jealous you know?

  • @danaruedas Actually no I'm not. I have an Ipad of my own.

  • of Course WiFi is Better Dip Weed.

  • Why does YouTube behave so differently between 3G and Wi-Fi? To have a lower Kb usage? And if you disable 3G connection and use the Wi-Fi (on the 3G model), will YouTube still scale videos down?

  • @81Sparhawk I don't know why or how it was determined that YouTube videos had to be scaled down so dramatically when on 3G, but we can only assume it's a mix of cell carriers complaining and the slower connection speed on 3G. If you use WiFi, you won't see the scaled video.

  • @DetroitBORG Allright, I got it. Thank you for the info! :-)

  • @DetroitBORG I know that on my iPhone 3gs the youtube application has really bad quality and is scaled down when i watch youtube on 3g, however, when i go on the mobile youtube website on safari on it, it doesn't scale it down and it plays it crystal clear :)

  • @liltocoroxursox Good tip!

  • can u take 3g off

  • @termenatesmith13 You can switch it off, or just not use it :).

  • you can allso jail break your ipad now!

  • ovalsy wifi is beter the right one

  • nice

  • I'm buying this to help me with my studies. Instead of breaking out a heavy laptop between or during classes, I'll just use the ipad. See I'm a science major, so reviewing pics, flash cards, and other study material (off or online ) would be helpful and attentive.

Hopefully, I'll have one before Christmas

  • @aka4god That's an interesting use for it, let me know how it works out!

  • @DetroitBORG how did u get your bookmarks under the search bar in safari? Is it just like that on the 3G? 3G

  • @Unelson23 My bookmarks are sycned to Safari on my iMac, which means that even the bookmarks bar from my iMac's Safari appears on the iPad.

  • im planning to buy the new IPad next summer , do you think ipad will help me in my studies? and does your ipad works well? im in sweden

  • @alto886 The iPad can't replace a laptop, I'm not sure it's a great productivity device, more of a media consumption device. Both of my iPads still work great, I love them but spend most of my time reading news and blogs on them more than research or writing.

  • @DetroitBORG oh ok thanks for the reply

  • would you recommend the 3g or wifi ipad?

  • @148thChild 3G because it at least gives you the option to use cellular data and GPS if you discover you need it later on.

  • @DetroitBORG okay, thanks. subscribed :)

  • hipsters.

  • lol you bought 2 of these overpriced JUNKERS LOL @ you!

  • you´re so fucking rich!!! (no offence, I would love to be you)

  • obviously the wifi is faster..

  • who the fuck has 2 Ipads?

  • @bartownsu I do! Oh, right.

  • hipsters.
