Just another great old piece of Ford Australia motoring history butchered by a hot rod daddy. What is it that soooo many of these lovely old Fords are being souped up and molested like this? If I see another fake GT look a like I'm gunna THROW UP!! velour inserts and black engine bay, big drag scoop, black outs every where. Keep wreck'em boys, makes the orig ones are worth more.

hey i might sound like a dumbshit askin this, but what is the actual purpose for the butterflies on the scoop?

@sidevalve337 there isn't any real purpose on this kind of scoop, more for looks than anything - its supposed to look like an injector hat like you'd use on a supercharged motor - in an injector hat the butterflies actually control the air intake - the butterflies in this kind of scoop (Mr Gasket etc.) ARE hooked up to the throttle linkage but you could remove them completely and it would probably get more air and make little difference to how it ran..

My first car was a 68 XT GT. Couldn't kill it.I traded it on a XA GT which rusted out everywhere...The XT was totaled by it's new owner 2 weeks later. I still wish I had that car..

I am very grateful for this information. The more evidence I find, the easier it is to convince people that it could be the closest thing to a GT other than just looking like one while not actually carrying the status. There is so little information about these. any pictures or snippets like this one is great.
