  • Can you share one of any PRS guitars you got there with me?! :)

  • Hey what settings do u use for your amp.

  • @arkman117 Hi Dude. Here's what I use:

Herbert - Focus on Bottom and High.

    Gain (10:00), Volume (9:30), Treble (5:00), Middle (10:00), Bass (2:30)

    Master: V2 (0), Presence (11:00), Deep (2:00), V1 (7:30)

  • Awesome vid thanks for posting

  • @arkman117 Thanks for commenting. So much fun to play. Beats the hell out of my right elbow. ;)

  • Awesome vid

  • Dude what did you notice the difference in character is between the sc250 pick-ups and the tremonti pick-ups bridge and neck? Which has a hotter bridge pup with more harmonic qualities and which had a smoother or more muddy neck pick up? Thanks!

  • nice job man this is awesome

  • Can I have a couple of those PRS guitars, please and thank you :)

  • @abiguitar Abi, um...no. =^}

  • wheres the educational part?

  • @TheMikoolio ? What do you mean?

  • @garynoon "for educational purposes only" there is no education in the video. its just you rocken out

  • @TheMikoolio Means, I learned the song for educational purposes.

  • @garynoon The educational purposes are my own. I use this song to learn how to better play the guitar. Thus, it's educational.

  • sir like i see theres too much guitar here and its wrong what is wright is to send me on of'em :) ---

    awesome cover !!!

  • you kinda look like mark tremonti with the beard and all.. plus ur guitar playing is superb!!

  • @27kdon Well, Thanks, but I think Mark wouldn't agree. ;)

  • got enough guitars? xD wanna send me a free one? :P just jokin. :P

  • @youremadwackyo I love playing. ;)

  • tell Alter Bridge they don't need to cancel any performances if Tremonti is sick, you can don it!

  • @josuecarnivoro Very kind of you to say. ;) Thanks!

  • You're awesome, but I sincerely hope that your facial hair and that arm band aren't a copy of Mark Tremonti because you're good enough to develop your own shtick.

  • @Jurassic55 Thanks. Got my own shtick, thanks :)

  • @garynoon good shit! Keep it up man.

  • @Jurassic55 Thanks!

  • much of a prs fan?

    nice playin'

  • @Xidkwhat2callmyselfX How'd you guess? ;) Thanks!

  • with all that equipment and shit you can barely hear you..and i know u know that when you watch this video turn your shit up man or equalize it better or somethin..so wat if u screw up its better than turning it down and pullin a 50 percent ashlee simpson by lip syncin wit your hands instead your mouth man....

  • @LegendofDimeBag Hi Dude. You might need to listen with earphones or something. ;)

A lot of guys think my guitar is turned down, because they can't distinguish me from the recording.

That's usually because my tone is almost the same as on the record (same amps, btw).

I definitely got to polish up the solos (my solo tone sounds much better now),

but I'm usually dead on with the riffs, etc.

    Thanks for watching dude!

  • where do you live? i wana break and steal that beautiful collection of prs guitars you have

    so jealous of you

  • im guessing you like PRS lol

  • dude i would kill to have all your guitars

  • yeah that was the shit. you make it look easier than it sounds.

  • @07donegan Thanks. Still need to polish the solo a bit.

  • you dont happen to have tabbed the song down on guitar pro?

  • @flyinginabluedre Sorry. I worked this out by ear.

  • @garynoon ah fair enough dude. cool vid though :D

  • Dude are you like marks brother or something?? That was sweet!

  • @ChristianBurrell Thanks Christian. ;)

  • *appaulse all around*

  • @japaneseladysamurai Hi. Thanks. I had a great time playing this song. :)

  • heeeey ! its you again! :D:D:D the rock face :D hey man..:( do you learn by guitar pro or what? how can guitarist learn a song by ear if its in a special tuning? its very hard to lern on guitar pro too ...omg! but fuckin cool cover again!

  • @Xpert9H6 Hi! I learn all by ear. Sometimes, I'll use QuickTime pro to slow the track down to get faster parts, but in general, I start by figuring out which the lowest notes in the song are (that helps me to figure out tuning), then I work from there. I'll block out chords based on the root notes I hear first, then make adjustments to each individual chord to make sure each note is correct. AB doesn't like to use the standard type of Drop tuning power chords. ;)

  • @garynoon

and when you was young and learning a song in your first years, what did u do first or learn, good teacher? can u say something inspiration? i appreciate it

  • @Xpert9H6 I practiced matching notes I heard on the recording, with songs I play on the fretboard. I'd also work on each section of the song at a time. Once I completed a section, I'd move on to the next.

  • I spy a Killswitch Engage T in the background! It makes this video so much more win. ;)

  • @FairyNinjaFtw Yep. You sure do. ;) I was once mistaken for Adam backstage at Mayhem. ;)

  • Was that an SE btw? Or a SC 58?

  • @Luiginerd10 I'm playing an SC 250.

  • May i say that was EXTREMELY WELL PLAYING!!!! I am so jealous of all those PRS's you have up there too. Did you use your own revised tabs or did you get these stright from online, if so, do you know?

  • @Luiginerd10 Thanks! I learned the whole song by ear. No tabs. I just work hard to figure out what I'm hearing, or at least, what I think I'm hearing. Makes it fun and challenging at the same time.

  • @garynoon Wow, i always play the SC 245s EVERY time i go to guitar center....its gotta be my dream guitar, if i own one of those, im in heaven.....and ok, ive been lookin at tabs, and they seem really off....:( i guess i better start touse my ear as well

  • @Luiginerd10 Tabs can help point you in the right direction, but it's best not to rely on them.

See if you can block out the chords in the main riff (play chords using the 1st finger across the 6, 5, 4 strings) by using their bass notes as a guide, you can start listening more carefully for notes that may need to be played above them (like on the 3rd string). Hope that makes sense. After a while, you're ear will recognize the chords when you hear them.

  • @garynoon wow, i never thought of it that way, that acctually is the first time anybodys ever givin me advice like that, that makes sense. I will deffinately try that! Thanks Gary! Keep on Rockin! :D

  • @Luiginerd10 Sure thing. I'm kind of an odd guitar player, but I like it that way. ;)

  • @garynoon Whatever works!! :D

  • @garynoon you know wats up...tabs for the most part suck..if your ear aint tuned yet then they do point u in the right direction but when you develop your ear you will usually find somethin wrong with them throughout a song if you learn it to the album

  • @LegendofDimeBag Agreed. Tabs can be a good reference, if you've developed your ear.

  • Nice, the solos seem a bit rough though, but overall nice job.

  • @Songwriter4God Thanks dude. You're right. The solos need work. That's another reason why I cover their stuff. It's always a challenge, and I get better every time.

  • @garynoon I don't know; the solos sounded just fine to me. The energy was definitely there through the whole song, and pretty tight. I'm more in favor of solos that have good feel than are note-perfect, anyway.

  • @XMattingly Thanks. I'm trying for both, but as I'm not Mark Tremonti (or Myles), I have to settle for what I can bring to the table. It's so cool having great guitarists to look up to. That's why I play covers, to learn and have fun. ;)

  • @garynoon Heh. Yeah, just playing along to my favorite music I learned how to solo. Do you take lessons?

  • @Songwriter4God That's cool. I don't take lessons. I use other people's songs to learn, and I use a lot of Troy Stetina's books for reference. His books are the best. his website is stetina.com

  • @garynoon Cool, Mark likes him. :P Yeah, that's exactly how I learn to. Although I also know Jake Bucher from Evil TV (Just recorded a demo, but his bandmates won't pay for mastering. XD) who went to college for music and he's teaching me a couple things, but otherwise I'm purely self taught.

  • Would someone please explain to me the whole 10 top prs thing? I want a prs custom 24, in a nice charcoal burst, some pictures i see look great, and they say they are a 10 top and cost about $500 some more. I see some 24's with a charcoal that looks okay but not as good as tens and those are varied prices. I dont get it im new to prs.

  • @TheNohcim Hi. Here's the answer for you: A very small percent of the maple trees cut in North America are actually figured. To make "10-Top" status, a PRS top must have clearly defined figure across its entire top with no "dead" spots. A guitar designated as a 10-Top will have a small "10" written on the back of the headstock in the upper right corner. In some cases, the top may be remarkable through about 90% of it and a little dead through about 10% of it. (direct from PRS' website).

  • I love those shoes. Without them I will never rock :/

  • @cikane I agree. love my boots! ;)

  • How do you compare the PRS SE models to the higher priced versions? And by the way mate- brilliant covers :D

  • @surflouis1 SE's are Korean-made guitars, but PRS-designed. They are very good, but lack features such as adjustable bridges, locking tuners, bird inlays, etc (some of the latest SE's are featuring that stuff now). Sometimes the SE models sound a bit 'thinner' as compared to the American-made guitars, but they are excellent, especially for the price you pay. I own 5 SE's and I'm happy with all of them. Hope that helps.

  • @surflouis1 And one thing he forgot which detracts me from a lot of SEs despite their awesomeness, a flat body. :(

  • he has soo many guitars and the best room to set up for music. if that room were in my house i would have all the guitars i wanted and a couple nice amps and some other stuff. i would change it aroundfrom the way he has it

  • @JPC0104 Yep. That's the cool thing. You can set up your room any way you want. ;)

  • @neuracer Hi. It's actually a PRS SC250 (The Tremonti is basically the fore runner of the SC250 and SC245 and all other PRS Singlecut models).

  • Dude this is sooooo good. I've watched a lot of you're covers, really good man. You definitely should cover Show Me a Sign off of AB III, that solo at the end is sick. You should also do a cover of Remnants + Asylum by Disturbed off their new album Asylum. That would be sweet. Wish I could play like you. Great job!

  • @hvymtl8089 Hi! Thanks for the compliment. I'll get back to doing more AB covers after I finish recording the demo for my band, White Knuckles. Been in the works for a while now. Heading into the woodshed to finish developing the songs, and build my chops up.

  • where did u get this tab

  • @drdrw10 Hi. I didn't use any tabs, my friend. i figured it out by ear. Sorry. - G

  • @garynoon too bad i dont have the time to figure it out by ear, oh well thanks anyways

  • @drdrw10 That's the best way to learn it mang. ;)

  • hey what are your settings for your mark V? its sounds great with the herbert

  • @guitarnick914 Hi. I have the Mark V set for the Orange Channel, and I have the Mids turned to 5pm, Treble, Bass and Presence at 10pm, Gain at Noon.

  • well done mate your a machine!!!

  • @yikky1 Thanks! It's such a great tune...

  • hey dude what effects pedal are you using

do you use a ground controller

  • @tremolister1 Hi. I'm using the Full tone Ultimate Octave. I didn't really have it dialed in properly to tell the truth.

  • Respond to this video... I'm using a ground control pro to switch channels on my amps, but all my other effects pedals are mounted on a Pedal Train board and are in between the guitar and amps.

  • hey dude what effects pedal are you using

  • Haha I see you Alter Bridge poster in the background (; fav band along w/ Disturbed, LP and Shinedown... Amazing cover bud!!

  • @GNRrockergirl Yep. It used to be a hoody, actually. ;) The whole wall is a tapestry of tshirts.

  • @garynoon haha yeah i just got the black bird hoodie. it's awesome

  • I have go to say! YOU SIR! Have a lot of guitars! Haha what is your favorite PRS that you have? \m/

    -Dax

  • @DiveBombProductions Hey bro. My favorite is my Black SC250. It's a very solid guitar, and sounds amazing.

  • very good. no mistakes

  • @cwrowe Thanks dude. I actually make a few, but I tried to play with conviction. ;)

  • nice cover i think i might have heard a mistake or 2 to in the solo but it was totally metal bro

  • @sup7300 Yep. Good ear. I finally figured it out, but I don't want to re-record it. ;)

  • DUDE you have a DIEZEL head? OMFG! those RULE!

  • It's bad-ass!

  • from what i see your rig looks a lot like Myles Kennedy's rig.. very cool!

  • @firstgearlead Yep. It's pretty close. It's perfect for a well-rounded sound.

  • @garynoon

that's sweet, I draw a little bit of inspiration (not really too much, but still) from Mark's bi amp set up

its just that i owned a JVM410 before i was an AB fan. lol.

  • @firstgearlead ;) Nice. I owned a Crate GX-212 up until 2009. You might find it rocking in some of my earlier

    Disturbed covers.

  • a PRS fan's heaven *.*

All ur missing is a throne now dude lol

    Awesome playing btw

  • @My6StringSweetheart Thanks! I have a chair that looks like a throne in the corner. ;)

  • Do a gear video?

  • Hey dude. Actually working on it. Just have to finish deciding about my Wah, then I'm doing one.

  • damn bro ru in a studio or do u just got hella money oh and great cover.

  • Really nice job man! You've got some skills. And i'm pretty envyous of your gear...

  • This may sound like a dull, typical question, but what guitar is being used? =]

  • got enough gear damn!

  • Hey Garynoon :) WERE in the hell of Gods name do you buy the PRS guitars?? Is there some special website :) ??

  • Nope. I get them from PRS.

  • wheres the flying bird inlays? :)

  • This one has moons on it. It's my absolute favorite guitar.

  • Ever tried to drum cover ?

  • Nope. I have them just for working out ideas. Guitar is my main thing. Chad is the drummer. ;)

  • i think you need another guitar

  • I totally sense the sarcasm there... ;)

  • you look like tremonti lol, word up.

  • Well, thanks for the compliment, but I was hoping to look like myself. ;)

  • Holy shit, you must be loaded, all your gears amazing. Where do you live? im robbing you

  • @ShootingTheMoonBand im guessing he lives at the guitar store...

  • Nah. ;)

  • I live somewhere on the East Coast. ;)

  • @garynoon

Hey saw the Tremonti SE and was wondering how that guitar plays, I mainly play Alter Bridge, Shinedown, and Creed, including other stuff, and was wondering about that since im getting it as my next guitar. Great job!

    -AJ-

  • Very nice, dude! Awseome work and great song choice.

  • Thanks! My favorite now is Couer d'Alene.

  • is it just me or do you have like 5 PRS Tremonti Models hanging on your wall

  • Well, I got one Tremonti, two Tremonti SE's, a SE Custom semi-hollow, two SC245's, a Zach Myers,a Mike Mushok SE Baritone, and an SC250 :)

  • Comment removed

  • dude ur fucking sick! u should tour with Ab and test marks equipment before a concert.

  • Thanks! Mark has a great tech already. ;), but I appreciate the compliment.

  • Kickass shoes

  • The better to rock with, my friend. :)

  • @garynoon oh yes, that's true. maybe do close ups of your fretboard for future videos? would love to learn from your vids. \m/

  • Yep. I've done that on my last three covers. Did that work for you?

  • I hate you.. you're collection is magnificent!!!!

  • Thanks. I love my PRS'. :)

  • @garynoon I love mine as well!!! Prs standard 24 run through a Mesa Mark IV Short head Rackmount w/ BBE 328i Sonic Maximixzer, through a mesa 212.. Fucking mean as hell!!!

  • Be happy for me dude. ;)

  • God damn dude this is incredible. Major props

  • Thanks!

  • um not sure, I am looking for a great all in one, I cant afford too much stuff, but my orange is incredible, anything from dark jazz to ultra gain metal, but the mark v seems so appealing because of how many different amps are in it, although I really dont consider myself a tweaker, more of a plug and play guy, which is the only thing keeping from buying the amp

  • seriously you kick too much ass!!!!! I have no idea how you so much incredible gear, but good for you and your playing is top notch

I am considering a mark v (I already have an orange rockerverb 50), what your thoughts about the amp?

  • Thanks! I use the Mark V as a nice compliment to my Diezel Herbert. On it's own, it has a wide range of tones that you can easily dial in, so it depends on the sound you are looking for. What kind of tone are you trying to achieve with this amp?

  • seriously you kick too much ass!!!!! I have no idea how you so much incredible gear, but good for you and your playing is top notch

I am considering a mark v (I already have an orange rockerverb 50), what your thoughts about the amp?

  • Trying too hard to look cool bro...

  • Nope. Just trying hard to play with everything I've got. If you take a good look at me, 'looking cool', just isn't in my overall makeup. ;)

  • @garynoon

I'll go with that. That riff would haul a locomotive in its wake. You're just right in the pocket of the moment. Great Rocking Stuff (and that looks like a very inspirational space to hold a guitar (or two) in !

  • That is a sick collection of instruments and good cover, really rockin,

  • Thanks! Took me almost a year to get them all.

  • @garynoon

only a year ?? what you do for a living ??

  • @garynoon And ALOT of money its seems O.O

  • Perhaps! ;)

  • Badass song. You are in a band with Billy Fisher from Afreudianslip and Chad Szeliga from BB? Wow... how did you guys get together? That is amazing.

  • Hi Dude. Long story, but suffice it to say Chad and I are good friends. We talked about forming the band, and I connected with Billy through another good friend, Keith Thompson.

  • Kick-ass!!! as usual bro!!! my best wishes from Mexico!!! Good luck with White Knucles!!!

  • Knuckles*

  • Thanks Hugo!

  • Jesus H Christ u have a shitload of PRS's, can i have some? hahaha

  • Bust ass and someday you can. ;)

  • As you're having that kinda gear, you could make the audio a little better.

  • Very true dude. The USB mic doesn't quite cut it, eh? ;)

  • did you put American parts in your tremonti natural se sitting next to you?

Will your group ever play any venues in southwest ohio?

  • Hi. Yep. Got US PRS locking tuners and 57/08 pickups in it.

  • Im going for gain that melts your brain like a Buzzsaw I absolutley love that kind of sound but with good mids and bass to shake the roof are tremontis good on the bass side I mainly play lead but come up with a lot of rythm
