Nobody said that wolves ALWAYS waste the whole elk. It is however VERY common for them to make a kill, eat a little and not return. Some of the carcasses in the film are months old, nothing is eating them but bacteria, and the wolves have since moved on the killing other animals.

But we are also given the responsibility to provide for humans with this land. God created it in such a way that we can do both with management. While I agree Wildlife management is a necessity, it's often done by Trophy hunter mentalities and public scare tactics. I lived out west for some time and found it easy to live and hunt without much competition from Wolves which is one of the big arguments from the right as to delisting of wolves.

I met more hunters out west who could really care less about conservation and more about the trophy.

Actually, removing the wolf is the best way to manage pedation issues. Wolves are breeding beyond carrying capacities in many areas of re-introduction. Packs will not stabilize in number because their food supply is never ending as they reach further and further into private land areas. In the areas where they have been left alone they have taken to killing eachother.

Ranchers that are granted grazing rights on Public land in the Western region often kill Wolves that are simply passing thru, and Ranchers will not open their minds to alternative methods in cohabitation.
