  • is anybody else surprised this hasn't been blocked yet?

  • I got chills watching this scene. Of all the eight movies, this scene is in my top 5.

  • @Ad70ex NP:)

  • please don't get mad at me ....

i went to watch this with my girlfriend the day it released but you know, i'm a metallhead and these movies are not my taste ...

the moment this story began i was like : " fuck that i wanna see this again replaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay " .

and i bought the movie only for this part, it's really really awesome, i'll pay for such stories anytime .... AAAA MORE :D xD

  • @Ad70ex Well if you really like it you can get the actually book The Tales of Beedle the Bard at any book store.

  • @ThatPotterTribute7 wow thanks buddy, didn't know that .... cheers.

  • At 2:22 kt was wierd how the second brothers wife desintigrated as hermionie said

''yet she turned sad and cold, for she did not belong in the world''.

  • this beauty came from the mind of the queen Rowling =) Chills, all over the place

  • Some of my favourite animation to ever appear in a movie in the last several years

  • Cool bro, story

  • @spittingbloodhc you mean cool story bro? Ohh wait! now i get it :D

  • At first i thought that was harry's dad giving the cloak ti him

  • So beautiful :'( at firsta

  • 11 people are Twilight Fans

  • @Mexmrslovett

How can you still think of Twilight after seeing this clip? You obviously still have a long way to go, friend.

  • @aryllia i know

  • what kind of animation was this? 3d?

  • The three brothers actually correspond to Harry, Severus and Voldemort. Harry, who corresponds to the wisest brother, lives to an old age. Voldemort, with the elder wand, is greedy over power, and Snape, who corresponds to the brother with the resurrection stone, loses his loved one (lily potter)

  • Best part in the whole damn movie

  • @KiwiDillan actually its the other way around with me and my younger brother

  • Its always the oldest brother who is arrogant and just wants power lol. and the youngest is always humble. movie cleche

  • This scene gives me the creeps!

  • is the stone their talking about the "sorcers stone" and is the guy who recieved the invisibility cloak harry's dad?

  • @JDUDE736 No, the Philosopher's stone was destroyed as Dumbledore said. Sorry if I'm spoiling you, but the resurrection stone was in the Golden snitch which Harry caught in his first Quidditch game. And the three brother's go way back, so it's not Harry's father. Harry's father got it from his father, who got it from his father and so on. So the third brother is Harry's great great great great great great great grandfather or something. I hope it made sense lol.

  • @JDUDE736 I know right?! Who knows???

  • That was one of the best scenes out of all the Harry Potter movies.

  • Harry potter is by far better than Twilight. Twilight is wishy washy love nonsence. This is magical and exciting. Like if you agree,

  • the tale of the three brothers

  • When I first read the book I wondered how they would show this scene.... it was even more amazing than I expected! This and the scene where they dance in the tent are two of my favourite HP scenes ever!

  • Congrats to Ben Hibon & Dale Newton + Alexis Liddell of Framestore for putting this amazing sequence together :)

  • @1bulma1 Why are you comparing Harty Potter to Twilight when they are completely two different things?

  • Did anybody notice the Three Brothers' silhouettes made them look like they might be of different "races"? One brother kind of appeared to have African features, another appeared to possibly have Semitic features and another appeared to have European features.

  • The way this story worked into the plot was brilliant. I think it would be cool if there was a full length, live action movie about the tale of the three brothers.... kind of like a brother's grimm type of story telling, I think it would be AMAZING.

  • @crushxcrushxbaby I actually want to write out the story

  • @reave91 NO

  • this scene is far superior to all the three twilight movies and the upcoming 2 twilight films COMBINED

who ever thinks twilight is better than harry potter is INSANE.

  • @1bulma1 no,it's just homossexual

  • @1bulma1 Who ever thinks twilight is any good is INSANE.

  • It looks as if it were from a Tim Burton movie

  • @Recruit173 Maybe it was him that did it cause he is the husband of the person that plays Bellatrix:)

  • quality?

  • the harry potter and the deathly hallows never came 1 year ago!

  • someone must have cast a replay spell on me because i can't stop pressing the button!

  • When I have children, I'll always read the Tales of Beedle the Bard to them =)

  • Love it (:

Do you people know any more vids like this?

  • Did Tim Burton do this part of the movie? It looks like his work.

  • 5 people got their throat slit while sleeping...

  • 5 people couldn't cross a trecherous river

  • Three Billy Goats Gruff

  • Comment removed

  • 5 death eaters watched this

  • i tought you are talking about the jonas brothers silly me!!!

  • @TheNicole2016 Other than the use of three characters this story doesn't relate to the three little pigs

  • is the stone that brings loved ones back the philosephers stone or w/e its called

  • @ryuchigo no no, they are completely different things :)

  • why is it backwards? Copyright issues?

  • aaah nerds. all of you

  • @MrBedify then why did you even come to this video? lol...

  • if voldermort have the wand would harry potter be stronger than him if he had the stone and the cloak and BTW when they said the stone do they mean the scorer stone in the first harry potter movie?

  • @sasukefangirl4lyfe I believe the sorcerers stone was something different. It was said to be created by Nicholas Flamel, not by death. So I think they are different.

  • Emma Watson's hot

  • I -3 Emma Watson

  • this is absolutly amazing. i wish they'd make a collection of animations like this based on creepy stories. Keeping emily watson as the narrator! her vioce adds to the beauty of this scene.

  • I love Emma Watson's voice <3

  • The reason this scene is so good is because it illustrates ,instead of just having a dialouge, the Deathly Hallows. I'm sure they did it this way because this tale is the whole key to the entire two part movie. If peole who don't read the book didn't understand the Deathly Hallows then they could lose money (people won't come to the next one) So they DEFINETLY had to hit this out of the park and make it completely mesmerizing and interesting. And they did a FANTASTIC job. I tip my hat to them.

  • I give them points for doing the story this way...

  • harry potter is the new lord of the rings or star treck i hope she write more books

  • can emma just narrate my life? kthanks.

  • lol this is vierd i just watched the movie and in the movie version that i watched the camera was on the other side

i mean the look was on the left not right side :)

  • I adore stuff like this, so mysterious and beautiful :)

  • ▲:)

  • Is this really a story you want to tell your kids?

  • @leskj33 'Little Red Riding Hood 'and 'The Three Little Pigs' were scary but I remember reading those as a kid.

  • I love emmas voice. :) Its so nice.

  • its short stories, like these that can teach people things, that are soo neat to hear. Makes me think of countless fables that ive read in greek mythlogly and what not

  • Best bit in the whole movie.

  • Was this reversed from the film? I swear the candle blew the other way when the dude died and the guy was hung up to the right, not the left. And the wielder of the Elder Wand was right handed...

  • @Cavin8r yes

  • @Cavin8r I believe so

  • @Cavin8r mirrored so then it wont get taken down because of copyright

  • This is nightmare before christmas, with a touch of harry potter. This is art!

  • @AlbaFlavius More like 9.

  • @Cavin8r Haven't seen it. ^^' Tim Burton did that one, right?

  • @AlbaFlavius Yeah, it was pretty good, the idea behind it was out there. Loved it as usual :P

  • @AlbaFlavius nope, wasn't Tim Burton, this animation was done by Ben Hibbon

  • Great special effects looks sooooo old

  • i cant wait till july

  • 5 people didnt part this life with death as equals

  • @JordanKellyH

1 person left a crap comment on youtube

    GROW UP

  • My favorite part of the film.

  • I loved this scene

  • the story is about the peverell brothers.

  • Epic story, epic animation, and it's narrated by Emma Watson.

    <3

  • In HD at watch?v=omaXK9JIZh0

  • Favorite part of the entire movie. :)

  • @take5only not me! James' last name was Potter, not Peverell. and that story is much older than Harry.

  • @take5only Well I think no. Maybe James Potter is just a successor of the youngest Peverell.

  • @SuperKimana yeahi think so 2. :-)

  • @take5only No one agrees. considering the invisibility cloak is part of the deathly hallows and Dumbledore has been in possession of the elder won (a deathly hallow) before James Potter was even born. The tale of the three brothers are about the Peverell brothers and the owner of the invisibility cloak was the youngest Ignotus. If that was James Potter, then Voldemort would be his brother since he had the resurrection stone and made it into a horcrux unaware that it was a resurrection stone.

  • @mcshanna897 ok umm i am sorry???? 0_0

  • @take5only James is a descendant of Ignotus, but ISN'T the youngest Peverell, and Voldemort is a descendant of Cadmus, the middle brother. The story of the Three Brothers, however, has been around LONG before either James Potter, or Voldemort were born. BUT they both are descendants of a Peverell.

  • This is one of the cleverest use of animation in a movie I have ever seen, this is the reason why I love the Harry Potter series so much! the creativity that this franchise generates is inspirational!

  • Anybody else notice the 3rd brother popping up at 2:36 / 2:37?

  • @Kirawry Yep. That was the point. ^__^

  • @DragonFlame87110 I found it funny. x3

  • *it

  • I really like this scene (: Ik reminds me of the Pardoners Tale by Chaucher. Probably J.K.Rowling used it as an inspiration.

  • ahhhh i love this part! ive just now started reading the books, but the characters have grown up with me, and i dont know what it will be like without waiting for the next movie :( obviously best part ever, i even bought The Tales of Beetle the Bard to read it over and ever, even though it is encountered in the deathly hallows. i am such a geek. tomorrow im going to harry potter world. lll

  • my favorite part of the movie ; with out a doubt

  • i like how Hermoine says "figga" instead of "figure"

  • my favorite part of any harry potter movie ever♥

  • to be honest, i liked these three minutes better than the whole rest of the movie. the only part that gets you thinking...

  • The best scene by a long shot, and quite possibly my favorite animation in the history of animation. As for the rest of the movie...don't get me wrong, it's chock full of good stuff: The horcrux sequence blows shit (and Ralph Fienne's head) up real good. Then there's that one scene where HP and HG sorta dance and cuddle...okay, it's a bit odd but DAMN that's some serious acting right there. But the whole thing seems like a setup for a much better movie...can't wait for part 2.

  • why does death look like general grievous?

  • @HeVoNify Because he's a stone cold playa. And you gotta look like a total pimp if you want to tell people you're the fucking reaper without resorting to the ol' scythe...Farming implements are so last decade...

  • @HeVoNify LOL

  • I love this story :D

  • Beautiful animation. Its art and superb technicality is stunning.

  • go to your address bar and type win after you and before win

  • this made me appreciate chaucer even more.

  • It's like poetry..

  • best masterpiece ever

  • This is one of my most beloved scenes!!!! <3

  • Thanks so much! I am going to take some ideas from this movie for making my game!

  • This was actually my favorite scene in the movie... I'm not really sure what that means.

  • This is probably the only part from the movies that made justice to the books.

  • This is one of the most gorgeous bits of animation I have ever seen. Honestly this could've been submitted to the Oscars in the short film category by itself and probably won several awards.

  • One of my fav scenes in the whole series!! It's so ... different. I love the animations!! I can't wait for the DVD release! <3

  • Its funny that they just forgot about crossing the bridge and left to do stuff lol

  • This was so cool...

  • The story is very original here. It amazes me how well J.K. Rowling managed to do this. Harry has the cloak, dumbledore once had the wand, but what is the stone?

  • @ArcKing01 you should probably read the book to know where the stone is :)

  • @ArcKing01 if you have read the book and not figured it out i could tell you in a pm if you want

  • Yea nice.

  • uuuh can you say goosebumps.. so good!

  • harry got the invisible cloak, dumbledore got the wand then who has the stone?..

  • @jellomellox3 Marvolo Gaunt's ring. One of Voldemort's horcruxes.

  • @ttorres1021 uh, spoiler alert, dude!

  • @jellomellox3

    SPOILER!!!

The resurrection stone is in the golden snitch Harry got from Dumbledore as a legacy.

That snitch is in fact the one that was caught by the mouth of Harry in the first book during the first quidditch match. So the snitch opens up and reveals the stone only if Harry touched it with his mouth. A good idea by Dumbledore again to use this ability of the snitch :)

  • My favorite part in Deathly Hallows, movie and in the book. I've re-read this chapter about 5 times. JK Rowling is a genious. Harry Potter is my life & I'm proud to call myself a fan. Peace, love, Harry Potter :)

  • I remember when we saw this at the VUE in Leeds. When she started narrating the whole theatre went silent:)) I caught myself holding my breath back :). She has a unic way to narrate this. Very catchy!

  • Love this scene. Has a great moral to it.

  • @maplesyrup234 OMG OMG no shit... the whole thing is backwards so that it has a fighting chance of staying on youtube. If it overlays or matches a part of the movie going the right way exactly, they'll usually take it down for copyright infringement. Sure they can search the name and find it but that's not exactly what they're looking for, is it?

  • Hermione's (Emma's) voice is perfect for narration. It makes the story more magical.

  • Death looks like general Grievous from Star Wars

  • this caught me off guard, brilliant!

  • oh my god. oh my god is it just me or is the scene reversed..what i mean is that in 1:41 the third brother is on the elder brother's right not left. i've seen the movie only once, but im pretty sure it's reversed?

  • @maplesyrup234 I don't know why but most things are reversed to be able to keep them on youtube. For example some show scences that are put online are reversed. and yes , I do believe its reversed

  • "figa" lol :) british accent

  • interesting story, terrible quality

  • I was so happpy that they did this little scene. They could have saved money and just had Hermione read it and have the camera on them. But they went the extra mile and made an amazingly artistic and beautfiull short for the story.

  • I love how Emma Watson says "figure" :) her voice is so soothing and calm.

  • omg, amazing

  • Beautifully done especially with the fair Emma Watson's voice. Part of the movie that exceeded my expectations.. Good post!

  • Hmm...your video appears to be mirrored...as in flipped.

  • This is Beautiful....

I had chills watching this scene at the theatre during the film and it was unexpectedly Great and so cool, a true masterpiece of creativity...

  • why is it mirrored?

  • I remember reading this fro first time in the book and when I finished reading the three brothers tale I said to myself...O..M...G.... WHAT a huge moral point did that story have ! and then i 've read the 3 bothers story 3 times not believing what genious J.K. rowling is by having a very small story that had a very big moral in the end !!!!!! :O

  • For me, this was the first HP movie to have several moments that actually exceeded the book, and this was one of them. For the first time, the movie actually SLOWED DOWN to give us information, and knowing what the Deathly Hallows represent and what they mean to the whole story, this came in at the perfect time, right near the end, to give the audience an overall sense that "the end is nigh" and this is just the calm before the storm. It's so foreboding, and perfectly sets the stage for Part 2.
