What's up with everyone immediately thinking it's going to be used to suppress any and all demonstrations rather than ones that are turning violent just like tear gas and such? Last time I checked riot control technology didn't eliminate all peaceful demonstration in America.
I am creating a similar device to this for my senior design class. I demoed it to a couple defense contractors I am interviewing with and they were impressed. :)

A solid metal surface would block EM waves in the Microwave range of the spectrum, but i agree that we just don't know the lethal capabilities of this sort of weapon. If the machine were modified to fire concentrated gamma rays at a target, the penetrating power would go through anything; even thick lead or concrete will only slow down gamma rays, and not stop them entirely. This way, they could kill people while they sat in their homes, at their computers...silently.

2. This cannot cook a person, the microwave would only heat up a few mm of the exterior. That is the nature of microwaves. Unless you blast at ppl for 10 minutes straight, nothing would happen to them.

A solid metal surface would block EM waves in the Microwave range of the spectrum, but i agree that we just don't know the lethal capabilities of this sort of weapon. If the machine were modified to fire concentrated gamma rays at a target, the penetrating power would go through anything; even thick lead or concrete will only slow down gamma rays, and not stop them entirely. This way, they could kill people while they sat in their homes, at their computers...silently.

1. The "heat beam" is non-lethal. It just makes your skin feel like it's burning, but in reality is nothing worse than a minor skin burn.
2. It's only to be used during riots. Peaceful protest are allowed under the 1st amendment just as long as they don't interfere with other people's lives (Ex: Protesters stop traffic to prove point)
3. If you honestly think the government is going to become so corrupt that all basic civil rights are withheld, then you need to brush up on your politics.

this is to protect vital areas such as hospitals, police stations, fire stations, military installations, important government buildings from riots.
Basically any place you ARENT'T allowed to protest.
But anywhere else is fine..
This changes nothing, if they truely want to stop a protest, they could always resort back to laughing gas, mustard gas, non-lethal bullets, fire hose.
So, nothing that needs to be afraid of. This will just be a non-lethal version of the listed above.

However, recent executive orders put in place by our wonderful president scares me enough to where I won't protest anything as I expect folks will get zapped by the new ray gun or worse. 1. This is safer than any other methods, so don't complain about this. Complain about the riot police, not their new toy.
2. This cannot cook a person, the microwave would only heat up a few mm of the exterior. That is the nature of microwaves. Unless you blast at ppl for 10 minutes straight, nothing would happen to them.
Keep in mind this is SAFER than Laughing gas, which is toxic, Police batons, which can kill with a single swipe, Water hose, which can cause injuries, etc.

It is torture if it is used as a means to coerce one to do something (like move). If they are in the act of a crime, then it is torture to get them to stop doing the crime. If they are not doing a crime but peacefully exercising their first amendment, then it is torture to get them to move and disperse - essentially preventing them from further exercising their constitutional rights. It passes through most organic matter almost uneffected. Thus if it would be heating up some person to the degree of burning, it would kill the person by heating the target up overall temperature.
Microwaves on the other hand cannot travel more than a few mms of water.

Does the army want peaceful protests or war with the civilians in America? It sure appears that our tax dollars have been spent to put us people down and give us cancer with the microwave technology they are using.

People have the right to demonstrate peacefully. When they cross the line to violence and property destruction, then they are violating OUR rights. If you surround my car, and cause me to fear for my life, I can guarantee you that you will get shot. And not with a Taser.
The ADS gives a very low risk means of breaking up a riot. Safer than water cannons, dogs, batons, rubber bullets, CS gas, smoke, flashbangs, etc.

Abuse of the people is what causes the riots to get out of control ... WTO, the police never arrested one of the anarchists because the anarchists were police in discuse. Why else would the police do nothing to them, and the court never prosecute one of them?

I don't think your going to be dealing with peaceful protesters, or even slightly aggressive ones in the near future. Your going to be dealing with the same type of crap you've been dealing with in Iraq and Afghanistan. Except this time its going to be pissed off Americans with lots of guns.
The government has essentially plundered the country and given the proceeds to there pals, this is going to be ugly, and I doubt this will do much once the situation deteriorates.

On a more serious note, the ADS beam penetrates less than less than 1/64 of an inch. So unless she is on her back, actually delivering the child with her vagina pointed toward the machine, the fetus is safe from the direct effects of the beam.
If she falls or gets trampled, it is another story. Of course rubber bullets or billy clubs would be even less gentle.

This weapon is described as non-lethal, but the truth is this ray can do serious and perhaps permanent damage to a persons eyes even on lower settings. You are correct- only if the ADS uses Microwave Energy. But it doesnt. Hold on a second, aren't you the one on the other ADS video?
Either way, i'll say again. The ADS uses millimeter waves. Amplified and concentrated microwaves is not an instant kill method. long exposure however, will lead to death, if not, injury that will.
Even if the ADS uses microwaves, it is designed to expose targets for small phases of time. On a finishing note, you seem to think that the ADS is a conspiratorial weapon.
