  • Those two song really match.

  • 75 mph...big deal.

  • Definitely a sight worth seeing. As you displayed at the end of the vid, they RIP.

  • That was awesome 5***** What was the first song?

  • what song is playing right before the Acela comes??

  • Weapons of Mass Distortion by the Crystal Method

  • That was intense; What a rush! Great job. ;-)

  • song?

  • First one is Extreme Ways by Moby. Second is Weapons of Mass Distortion by the Crystal Method

  • america sucks some times

  • WHOA!!!

  • very cool video great job on that!

  • Acela is our fastest train in the US, but is slower then the Europe's slowest train. It would be nice if the US could focus more on developing Passenger rail up to standards of other leading countries(Japan, Western EU)

  • your acela is very quick though. 150mph puts it in the middle of european standards, about the same speed as an ICE. Still way faster than anything we have over here in Britain. Our fastest is 125 mph (in service) capable of 140 when we upgrade to cab signalling.

What a train the acela is though! Huge and graceful. Much bigger than european continental trains, which may explain why it's not as fast.

  • but this speed of 150mph is only achieved in New England, namely in two areas in Rhode Island and Massachusetts, 18 miles all together. The problem is that Acela in some parts runs on old overhead wiring and tracks which prevent it from going fast as the European standard. The service is still our best, but a journey from Washington to Philadelphia only gets you there 1/2 an hour earlier then a normal regional train and only stops at major stations of increased demand.

  • This is quite possibly the most worthless shit I've ever seen on youtube, And I've seen a guy put glow sticks in a microwave...

  • ummm, people do have a interest in this so I dont think it is a worthless piece of shit. I dont really care for trains that much but the video was interesting.

  • worthless

  • How did you know?

  • Thank you for feeding into me :P

  • Well your absolutly welcome, And thank you for being so polite. :)

  • Very nice video.

  • That music that comes on when the Acela passes is so annoying...mainly because I keep hearing it when my older brother keeps playing Forza Motorsport 2 :P, it's not your fault. This was a great video though! The Acela ROCKS!

  • Nice job. Love the warm light in the shot.

  • OH, and the timing of the music as the Acela flies by was nice.

  • Nice video. I look forward to riding the Acela myself.

  • Um, I think that this is Mansfield, MA.

  • it is i was just going to say that

  • Verry nice!! The video is on my favorite list. Good job!

  • What's the music?

  • First song is Extreme Ways by Moby, the second is Weapon of Mass Distortion by the Crystal Method

  • I'm a transportation fan, nice video and good choice for a soundtrack.

  • NICE video. For a new project, if ypu're on the Northeast Corridir, I suggest filming a holiday extra train.

  • that's because we don't have expansive room in our densely populated areas...europe has compact cities with vast expanses of countryside so it's easy to build wide-radius-turn tracks to have higher speed trains. we did the acela on existing track. also, the demand is only appropriate in the NE and maybe California. it makes more sense to fly...there isn't as great a need

  • Hey,

First of all nice video I always appreciate a fan of the Acela, im an operator myself. But one thing, be vary of our trains if your train watching away from a station, the Aclea is alusive and can be out of sight 1 second, but hit you the next. But otherwise keep up the good work.

  • Great work! I love the music helping the anticipation of the train coming. Then the second part gave a little laught when you hear the train warning and then see the Dodge truck, then just to be blown away again. Very nice job.

  • Dude...That was AWSOME!!!! Keep up the GREAT WORK!!!!

  • Awesome video! I'm a railfan myself and love to hang out at Perryville,MD for Amtrak action. Keep up the great work mizlek!

  • rizlek

  • What is that song

  • Moby, Extreme Ways, 18

  • Cool, thanks!

BTW, there are three stations where you can see the Acela Express go by at 150 mph. They are Kingston, RI, Attleboro, MA, and Mansfield, MA (where you were). On my last Acela journey to Boston, my GPS reciver showed us at 150 past Kingston, 139 mph past Attleboro (and accelerating) and 150 past Mansfield. Just north of Mansfield, they slow to 125.

  • What's the name of that second song in the video?

  • It's "Weapon of Mass Distortion" by the Crystal Method.

  • Cool

  • I'm a bit surprised that there are so much security advices before the train rushes throuh. In Germany, we have a lot of platforms you can pass by at 200 kmh (125 mph) and even 230 kmh (143 mph) and there is no voice, which tells me about a train rushing throuh. There is just a whit line and some danger signs.

  • The funny thing with those announcements is that their not calibrated/ synced with the Acelas. Heck the next station north, Kingston, those warning go on a good 5 minutes after the acela went by.

BTW rnizlek, what type of SLR camera were you using for the stills and at what speed setting?

  • With regard to the camera, it was a Canon Digital Rebel, the original version, not the XT. That camera has since been stolen and replaced by a Pentax K10D. The photos were taken at 100 ISO (which in retrospect should have been 400) at 1/160 sec.

  • oh ok any way awsome video

  • that canton ma

  • mansfield

  • the best express trains in the wold are

    i TGV

    2 ICE

    3 EUROSTAR

    4 MATRAK ACELA

  • You completly left out the Shinkansen.

  • Very nice photo but please don't stand too close when trains go speed up thanks great video too

  • Oh, believe me, I was far back. I set the camera on a trashcan up close and let the train go by from a safe distance.

  • lol that trash can i use as well when i go to Mansfield, also sometimes on top of that telephone

  • I think that the digital voice should've said behind the gate because the train looks like its gonna to hit u even if ur behind the yellow line lol. Damn that train is fast!!

  • Kinda funny though, the announcements never work correctly with the Acela, they tend to continue after it goes by

  • if that thing hit u, u'd look like a pizza topping, awsome stuff

  • That little bastard was fast as hell, would be awsome to train surf that thing. IT didn't sound a horn or anything, just that robot speaking and warning about a train? Kool though

  • wow that is fast my mom is suppose to take the acela the week after next to dc it should be a crazy ride

  • nerd

  • Great video. Isn't the 150 mph track segment only twelve miles long or so?

  • Then 150MPH segment is 18 miles. The Express speeds up to 150mph leaving Providence Train station, going in either direction

  • They''ve increased the amount of 150 mph track. It's more like 32 miles now.

  • gr8 job whit soundtrax hats off

  • Nice. I hate living on the west coast. Love to visit my family in Jersey and watch all the stuff on the NE corridor there.

  • Awesome!

  • love the video.

  • Was I? I thought I was in Rhode Island...I mentioned that I was in Boston for something else...but I supposed I was actually in mass. I also think I was only in a 135 MPH zone...but it was a decent attempt anyway

  • u r in a 150mph zone, I have tracked it on my GPS tracker on the way to boston

  • I actually think your right about the 135mph zone, cause the past few times ive gone up there, it has seem like they're goin that fast. Wonder why?

  • u were actually in mansfield mass.
