@goodlife404 Yes I still don't understand why either. I'm from New Orleans and they said mandatory evacuation, which means you have to leave. But they didn't have weeks to leave, a evacuation order was only out 2 days before the storm hit. But still, thats plenty enough time to leave.
I went through hurricane Katrina in Metairie, a suburb of New Orleans. The reason New Orleans got noticed more was because a lot more people were affected. People say New Orleans wasn't hit as hard as Mississippi are wrong. We got 20 foot waves off Lake Ponchartrain. The winds were also very severe with gust over 115 mph. I was 10yrs at the time Katrina hit and I will remember it for the rest of my life.
For the places that were completely underwater, you can tell. Okay the storm already flooded out have of the eastern new orleans area from what i can see, so when the levees broke. It really made things worser which put those areas completely underwater.
Finally, where I currently live approx. 8 years ago. My entire county was submerged by two stories of water. Many people died, there was lots of damage, the river over flowed and inundated thousands of people. Since then the Govt. has re-directed the water flow into the ocean. However, no sooner than later. My sincerest wishes to the people of New Orleans, Mississippi and Alabma. Stay strong, stay smart, and mostly stay informed ...
Firstly, to BNVN1 for making this video , as we should never forget how dangerous sometimes the forces of nature can be.
Secondly, to all you ill minded people that post shit, and no remorse for people that have suffered in a natural disaster. Carefull what you say, You never Know if it will happen to you .
Thirdly, as an American teacher living in Taiwan My very first experience with hurricanes ( typhoon's in the east ) came from Typhoon Haitang which was enormous and a cat.5
That "wind and rain" was Hurricane Katrina. It devastated New Orleans, Billoxi, Gulfport and many other areas from Florida to Texas. Have some respect please for the people who suffered and perished in this terrible disaster. I am from England and all over the country we were praying it wouldnt directly hit New Orleans. Think of all those people whose lives have been destroyed by this "wind and rain" before you make smart arse comments like that
What a intentional blunder new orleans was during Katrina. Like it was some accident the city wasn't notified to evacuate. The National Weather Service had issued at a warning a day in advance. It's such crap. Bush and Co. tried to demean the definition of accountability by calling it "The Blame Game" when they were all to blame, but of course... this was all intentional. Population reduction has been accomplished. Marshal Law and Lawfully owned gun confiscation has been achieved.
