Me, I am getting the feeling that this boss is purposefully harder specifically so that we have to battle Shadow Mitsuo multiple times. I think the point is so that you would take more time enjoying the homage-ridden dungeon. (After all, how many of you return to old dungeons aside for grinding or quest purposes?)

@dkcmaster45 They butchered Mitsuo far worse than they butchered Kanji. The worst they did with Kanji was use his issues and insecurities for somewhat insensitive comic relief, but they turned Mitsuo into an absolute monster.

That is why I cannot hold the anime above the game. (I liked Mitsuo, and I actually hoped they would treat him better in the anime than they did in the game, like with Hanako in episode 8.)

@Majorasword64 the anime isn't bad, but only to compare it with the game is just stupid (no offense). The game never be overcome by any anime, movie, manga, or any shit that they do. The game is a best experience compared with the anime. Extended storyline, makes you use your wits, and when you beat a boss, is comforting as hell. Like I said, the anime isn't bad but never be better than the game

Anyway I beat this boss with Yukiko, Yosuke and Teddie (in that order). Forget MC's personas but I used Sukunda and Tarunda to lower his accuracy and attack. Also keep in mind thatwhichever wall he uses (red, green, etc) is what kind of type he'll be attacking with (fire, wind etc) so if he used red wall then have yukiko heal/guard.

This dungeon is actually rather easy if you spend your time right. If you're playing on Normal, just train for a few days and make sure you reach the top floor of his dungeon. Then once you hit about lvl. 40, ONLY train on rainy days from there on. Spend the rest of your time on social links. Once you're about level 46, he shouldn't be too hard to defeat. Oh, and Mind Charge and Agidyne work like a charm (it also helps to have some kind of healer in your team). :)

He actually did kill King Moron. If you pay attention to his insane ramblings as you make your way through the dungeon he only says that he 'defeated' the reporter and Saki. With King Moron he says he killed him. Other things he mentions in his ramblings is that he's bullied and ignored at school, fueling his desires to be noticed and known to other people. Mitsuo is EXTREMELY immature and has a slight god complex.

She can tell you helpful things like what your opponent's weakness is, and what to do if your character gets afflicted with a bad status like poison, fear etc. But most of the time, she just likes to point out the obvious and be of little help.

When I fought Shadow Mitsuo on my second playthrough, and Mitsuo the Hero reformed for the THIRD FUCKING TIME, he said "I have to prove to myself that I exist. That's why I have to kill you!"

Starving for personal attention and interaction with the real world, Kubo kills Morooka and takes credit for the other killings. Anything, even the hatred of the public was better than the empty feelings that his shadow takled about. To have some measure of influence, even a bad one, is important to people.

Just some info about the shadow. Mitsuo's Arcana is the hermit. Shadows represent the reversed Arcana in this case the Hermit. The reversed Hermit Arcana represents a socially isolated person who has failed to master himself or come to terms with his isolation. As a result, he is both narcisstic and delusional, distainful of other people but paradoxially in need of their attentions for self-validation. Info from Megami Tensei Wikia :)

Pretty much yes. Shadow Mitsuo represents how he's pretty much a big, spiteful baby that craves attention and will go to horrible lengths just to have people pay attention

As for his Shadow saying he was nothing, my guess is that Mitsuo secretly believes that he's completely worthless. That's why his Shadow goes berserk when he starts ranting about how he can do anything, because it conflicts against how he really feels about himself

Okay, something's been bugging me about Mitsuo's Shadow for the longest time now.

What's it supposed to represent?

All the other Shadows pretty much blabbed the inner feelings of the people they came out of. But all Mitsuo's Shadow said was "I feel nothing....I am nothing....."  What does that mean? Like, he's empty inside or something?

@BluntmanEXE It represents how he actually feels, he feels like nothing.. like nobody notices him and that he is worth nothing. He had to actually admit he killed someone to be noticed by people. He also takes the blame about the other 2 murders.

And the Shadow represents his Inmaturity and how he hides behind a video game characters (Mitsuo the Hero) to cope up with his emptyness. Also the Baby has a programing code flying around his head to symbolize that.

I just finally beat this battle. My god this was a bitch on expert mode. I really wish I could go to medium, because when I started this game I didn't think it was this hard and whenever I face a boss I end up having to grind before I can try to tackle them. Switch Chie for Kanji. This is because

Youske will have a full party hit/avoidance boost

Teddie will have a full party defense boost

Kanji will have a full party attack boost

Plus they cover most of the elements, all you need to cover is fire, light, and darkness. Hope this helped.
