  • Yeah

  • O yea- the 2nd half of the REALLY GOOD PART on cd 2. Too bad it doesn't plat the art like 6 min before this. I HAVE NEVER HEARD ANYTHING LIKE THAT WHIRLEY CHIMY GENEMBRANO that plays on the track just before this one. The 1st 3 &1/2 min of that track is a true dream. And the last 4 tracks of the CD 1 from GU:19 is the darkest soundin shit I ever heard.

  • showing our age...was at the summer of love 88-89. Some craic.

  • No Progressive house for years. Antiques now...

  • Just spin u all over !!!!

  • ah lpmqmrmp

  • fuck yea bro bedrocks got guy j hernan cattaneo fuckin mad prog hs n im 98 ol skool way out wests the fall feat. here

  • fuck yea bro bedrocks got guy j hernan cattaneo fuckin mad prog hs n im 98 ol skool

  • super ii ike it:)xd

  • One of the best GUs, my favorite of digweed's. First CD is great, but the second disk is still the most intelligently dark progressive mix I've listened to. I haven't heard any other dance mix that sounds much like it before or since, and all the transitions are brilliant.

  • @DJChrisBradley Anthony pappa new breed mix is similar to this and is better i think.

  • This has to be one of the best recordings since man since ever......listened to this a billion times.....was hugely popular (considering it's not really top 40 stuff) summer 2000. boy do I remember that

  • Niiki - Stability Spot Cool Fastevil (4 Bootleg)

  • Amazing

  • amazing mix!

  • 8 people suck..

  • @ianbrox i agree!

  • @ianbrox no they are 9 ppl SUCKS

  • one of the few tunes, one can get lost into for hours

  • My personal response to garbage music is returning to the classics that paved the way.. just listen to this? One of the reasons is drugs.. or lack thereof, most of the best djs we all know are cleaning up and the music suffers sometimes. Another thing to consider is the growing popularity and merging with genres like rap and pop, people wanna jump on the 'club' bandwagon and as a result I have to hear whatever disney star just made. Nostalgia keeps it alive though :) and all the wild memories

  • one of the best dj's

  • Whats the name of the song (at the begining of this video) ?? Just love it.... Classic!

  • @virilicius listen to the bedrock remix of The Baguio Track - one of the classic bedrock remixes of all time, a stunning tune (especially the way dave seaman mixes in on GU 016 Capetown)

  • @reverendraver247 perhaps my fav pro tune of all time and GU capetown is awesome. though i will let you in on a 'secret' Seaman uses pro-tools to perfect his mixes, well actually he sits with with an engineer who does what he asks, they time stretch stuff out and loop stuff to make the impossible mixes possible. fair game though as it is a recorded mix and its gives something not possible otherwise, but just keep it in mind as its not not normal mixing.

  • @HaroonK74 listen to this if you can on the cd, mixed well, ' King Kooba-Bleu ( Mark Farina Remix )' in youtube, a tune id say. interesting, re the pro tools,so all you really need is a good ear for what goes with what and anyone could do it? i was listening to that today at work.beats the quality conversations going on around me... like you say cheating a bit though he can mix (not as good as dave pearce though;-) ) as long as it is born slippy/one more time/ hideaway (im gunna be sick) :-)

  • @reverendraver247 well a good ear but knowing the key and phrases of your tunes and having access to the newest stuff ;) Dont get me wrong Seamo is great, seem him dj live and he can mix, which he feeds in into pro-tools - so i wouldn't call it cheating just giving it more polish and finesse. good tune though on different vibe listen i was just listening to this Chateau Marmont - Antapex (Chromeo remix)

  • @HaroonK74 as i was soooooooo busy at work today ;-))) :i found the 'make a playlist' option on my ipod' 41 amazing tracks on it already - (including your lovin' apollo vibes and my release from gu019 and two versions of sirus 'eye for any eye !) no pro tools mixing but my next project is the 'genius mix facility' on itunes, (will be interesting to see how it copes with pre mixed tracks?) ...

  • @reverendraver247 interesting endeavour and I applaud your commitment to the cause, let us know how you get on. I've been busy with my Akai APC 40 and ableton, traktor scratch, two technics 1210 mk 5g's, an allen and heath 92, not to forget the 1d for the effects and looping and some random downloads :)))

  • @HaroonK74 im actaully really 'LMFAO' at that one !! care to come and help? !!! do you think I could get away with a desk full of kit though at work? whereas the nano is quite discreet!! it pays dividends when the boss walks past !!! if i send you my all time list and a memory stick I think you could make my LIFE!!!!

  • OMG! Classic!!!! The best ...

  • The Bedrock remix of The Fall is one of the most original remixes you'll ever find. Completely reshaped the song in ways no one saw coming.

  • not his best tunes....

  • Way cool, thanks for posting.

  • can anyone tell me what the first track is and who by pls. ta.

  • @rureal38 do you mean the first track of GU019 Los Angeles? if so thats 'Apollo Vibes' by Polefolder and CP

  • ahhhhhhhhh....... : )

  • @SerafinasHouse OMG... : ))

  • Steve Lawler is still an amazing tribal/progressive dj these days.

  • this song is not los angeles cd 019

    ???

  • @miakurvanevem yep mate way out west (respect nick warren) the fall, this track is on a few of mixes around that time 2001, another version of it is on gu016 capetown by dave seaman but this mix is on gu019 los angleles mixed by john 'the man' digweed....NOTE how sasha never made another GU after diggers made this? hmmmm? couldnt out do this in a million years...LOL and knew it. Best mix (of this genre) in my collection and thats a lot of mixes mate....

  • @reverendraver247 though not a sahsa fan-boy myself - you should notice how after this Sasha came out with airdrawnagger, fundacion and revolver 1 and 2 comps. The fundacion and revolver where on the global underground label so to be fair he just started a new direction for which the GU series were not suited, so he got his own.

Anyway this comp by digweed is the defining dark-prog comp of the time. Also check Lawler's Dark Drums series and Howelss Nocturnal Freqencies.

  • @HaroonK74 hmmm? not too sure, have all of them you mention by sasha, (airdrawndagger older than this though surely) nothing comes near this mix....IMHO. Its a permanent fixture in my ipod.. have all the danny mixes he has ever done, I love him, (have met him too,) lovely lovely man,and a terrrific DJ.... my fave is Nocturnal freq. 3, where he mixes halo varaga primitive into nightstalker GENIUS...plus I love his NUBreed GU - for Bushwhackas healer!! amongst other things. keep smiling ;-)

  • @reverendraver247 well i've always thought sasha's best is well in the past but diggers just get kept progressing, excuse the pun ;) I'll dig out those mixes you mention. though my real point was that sasha stopped doing GU as he started doing his ableton re-works rather than straight up mixes so it wasn't suited to the GU stream, so he got his own revolver series.

  • @HaroonK74 I think honestly that digweeds always been better, but again thats just my opinion....I love Jamie Anderson too, plays that nice dark and deep house...used to love hernan cattaneo until that last renaissance, I was soooooooooo disappointed in it, compared to both sequentials which are truly classics...what was he thinking? :-( thanks for the chats, we couldl go on for hours and hours and hours and before you know it its daylight ;-)))))

  • @reverendraver247 Yes I also think digweed's been better ever since venue44 and the conservatory back in the day ;) Seen hernan a couple of times, not impressed with is attitude, bumped into him at the cig vending machine in bedrock, heaven and he was a knob (also seen sasha, klienenberg, howells, tenaglia there and digweed cleaned them all up :) Second time I saw hernan was at Pacha in argentina and he was still a knob.

  • @HaroonK74 well, my illusions are shattered (not that I had any tbh) - arrogance cannot be excused can it, we are all human....some people just have better jobs...you should have told him renaissance number 50 is SHIT and hes lost it and he should get some lessons from mark farina lol!!

  • @HaroonK74 I wonder if GU will ever ask DAVE 'OI OI' PEARCE to do a GU LMFAOOOOOOOOOOOOO my dead cat could do a better job!!! sorry 'DAVE' (nah im not actually) !!!!

  • @reverendraver247 dave pearce lol the macdonalds of dance music compared to the haute cuisine that digweed and co - well time and place for everything. Though how he managed to swing a show on BBC 6 music, beggers belief. GU series though is rotten with old cronies though don't you think, about time for like Leger, von stroke, herve, trentemoller and other great new producers and DJ's to step forward I think.

  • @HaroonK74 YEP!!! when I saw GU39 Lithuania (everyones fave holiday spot) Dave Seaman I did do an inward groan....havent even bothered to listen to it......still I suppose it could have been nick warren again ? (ps have not heard of any of them you mentioned!!!

  • @reverendraver247 LOLLLLLLLLLLL hes a knob, have you ever read his wikipedia? -they had to write it extra big to fit his 'career' in which basically consists of working in the BBC (probably filing the vending machines) and clearly brown nosing his way to a presenting job.....makes me want to scream - the talentless twat!! ' roll another fat one?' should be ' roll yourself onto a railway track and do us all a favour !!! ' i bet hed shit himself if he had to mix anything other than 'ibiza anthems

  • Funny how this music coupled with what was going on back when you first heard it can mess with your mind...crazy : )

  • Very genial ;-)))))´

  • My all time favorite album.

  • MISTER NUMBER ONE!!!!!!!!

  • He is AMAZING!!! Seeing him LIVE was watching MAGIC happen!!

  • brilliant. by far the best GU set ever.

  • One of my favorite DJ's all time! I love his style.

  • love this mix. check out dj Vazer

  • The best GU set ever and the best GU track ever.. The definition of progressive underground.

  • TOTALLY agree it is the best GU EVER i would say maybe one of the best mixes ever come to that, isnt a duff track on it though he should have missed out love in traffic...the Medway tune ' My release' is a proper spine tingler, i listen to it at work on my ipod and still wanna throw some shapes in the office, its a f****ing legendary mix Digs acheived somehting here and shoull be proud

  • gungorhaydar, wanna say to you; 'it' started kinda like this, back in the 8ties!!lol....then it got harder and harder...lol then it 'weavered out to every corner of sound en space lol..and im happy it did! - sorry for my english..

  • i might be related to him!!!

  • sound is getting minimal these days which i hate!

    i miss 2002-2004

  • I agree with deepstarr... (meant to give you a thumbs up mate) Nick Warren is still top of his game. Don't write Diggers off either. His show on Kiss on a Saturday in to Sunday still has some amazing tunes getting played. Well worth tuning in for.

  • diggers totally ruled those times.

today's prog is utter cr4p sounding like electro/disco.

if u got any tips for artists releasing such music nowadays let me know... i can't find out anything, all seems to merge into one style. the more silly and obtrusive it sounds, the bigger success it has.

  • @l4d1c

    richard hawken

  • Hahah totally right on mate! The sound made a brief comeback around 04/05 imo but now gooonee lol I'll try to make some of this music again

  • @l4d1c fully aggree, but i think music is starting to get good again, electro was wank, musics geting to its roots again, thunping rolls, dark beats, listen to chiraz d the glow, thats more like it

  • @l4d1c I couldn't agree more. You definantly nailed the sound... electro/disco. However, there are some tracks, not many, that are still being released that have the sophistication of classic progressive house.

The good news is that progressive breaks are exploded again! Over the last 2 years, progressive breaks have made a strong comeback. There's a guy name DJPeaceful on youtube that has some incredible progressive break remixes that you can download. Check out his channel.

  • @l4d1c I got a new progressive house song i produced called "Paradox" stop by the channel and comment and rate. The Good and Bad.

  • @l4d1c Sasha - Global Underground 013: Ibiza... Love those tunes :) BT has also done some nice music back in those days.

  • @Hyrtsi ya BT is awesome. He does so much recording of all kinds of musical influeneces....but "never gonna comeback down" and dreaming were huge back in the day.

  • This is the sequence I have always played since I've had the CD that's what's so hilarious about me finding this lol

  • when prog was cool! One of the best dj mixes ive ever heard! :)

  • When Gloabl Underground was tha shizznits..

  • <3 <3<3

  • thats the 2nd part i think!put the 1st please!!

  • OK!

  • amazing sound

  • Slightly OT, but Nicked Warren played a kick ass set a couple weeks ago at Our House..

  • MUSIC

    RIP

    1996 - 2002

May ur soul live on 4ever in the hearts of the lucky few who were blessed 2 experience u in ur short, glorious life.

U were taken away 2 soon fr ur loved 1's by commercialism, sellout djs and the bastardization of elctrnc music. And, i guess, by the simple universal fact that things must always change. Even when they couldn't possibly get any better..

We mourn u everyday but u continue to inspire us from beyond the grave..

Love Always and Forever The True Ravers

  • Well I noticed this too, what the hell happend to Prog house, its so bad now, i stoped playing it all together, hell has bedrock put out anything of quality for the past 5 years?

  • You are kiddin, right? Bedrock is in a league of its own. Pole Folder's album, Guy J's album and eps as of late are all class.

  • progressive house is still great and its still around its just been revamped and put a differant label on tech house /minimal is what they choose to call it now

  • Nick Warren is still producing top class prog mixes

  • @keystop i agree...

  • The man is a legend, you gotta know the history of him to comment on his music and his skill. His talented, well established but stay humble and true to the music. The name digger means digging for the best tune from underground artists, his effort open up the market for many underground talents, a big big tribute to the eletronic scene.

Marathon set at the Twilo, Delta Heavy tour, northern exposure, the original Renaissans sets... way too many to mention.

  • I really like Digweeds version of Anwil Chanwa's (spelling?) Table 5, on the GU After Hours 5 album I think it was.

    Great Progressive House.

  • Live in LA is an awesome mix (2 CD's).. I highly recommend it for anyone who wants a trippy journey. This section is from the second disk. Digweed rules!

  • Quiver - One last time?

  • Way out west - The fall (bedrock mix)

  • Hey, i want to see digweed/warren...anyone know if they are ever coming to Cali? The only thing i hear of is the love parades in the city of fags (san francisco)

  • I love his music but he sucks live. No communication with the crowd.....

    Global Underground series rocks...

  • totally agree... meet his buddy.... nick warren... he''s a cool downto earth interactive kind a guy/dj

  • Funny you should say that - I'm going to see Nick Warren for the first time next month.

  • Digweed is renound for being 'serious' behind the decks as he prides him self on being a consummate pro. I've seen Digweed many times, he blows the clubs to pieces through his intricate layering of tunes rather than havin' it behind the decks unlike some who are all show and no substance. At high club Bedrock many peeps have agreed with me that he's blown away guest DJ's like Tenaglia, Cattaneo, Klienenberg and his old mate Sasha.

  • man i higghllyyy doubttt hes ever blown tenaglia out of the waterr ... but i do aggree w. u that tehres a lot of show and no substance ... have u seen steve aoki? hes so annoying he makes the biggest show while playign some crappy old music

  • twilo essential mix blows most fucking dj's right out the water..thrashing prog house from start to finish !!

    tenaglias best mix ?

  • anything live brother but to be honest hes not playing that good lately ... the best live set ive seen in my life was danny tenaglia live @ ultra 2005 in miami ... i saw digweed in the WMC last year and he wasn't all that ... if u wanna see a good live dj check out guy gerber.. hes a fucking beast

  • Comment removed

  • @cutloosebruce tennaglias best mix? Tenaglia @ ultra 2007or any of his mixes from 2002 to 2008 before he started doing his gay house thing again .. its getting annoying after 3 years .. also try the danny tenaglia global underground @ london .. so fuckin good .. he got mad shit back in the day for that cd callin him the "The King of K House" .. back then it was drugged out music .. now its a completely fine piece of techno/minimal

  • sucks live have u actually seen him live? an if u have were u listening?

clearly not by the comment left!!!!

the guy is very clever and magic behind the decks

  • Course I've watched him live otherwise I wouldn't have commented would I?

I've also seen Armin van Buuren, Sander van Doorn, Greg Churchill, Astral, Paul van Dyke, Roger Sinclair, Marc Emmerson, Ronski Speed, Judge Jooles, bla bla bla.....

Don't misunderstand me - I like Digweeds music, I just don't think he's lively behind the decks, especially compared to Sasha....:)

  • I've seen Digweed live in Tokyo a dozen times. Once he rocked out Space Lab Yellow for 12 freakin' hours. Nobody wanted to live. Definitely a legend.

  • judge fudge

  • Digweed just layed the track.

Nick Warren/ Jodi W. are the real maestros...

  • You clearly haven't got a clue what your banging on about son!

  • GU 19 is an amazing mix CD.

  • wow digweed is something impresionant cause they play alot of trip

  • 019JOHN

    DIGWEED

What did he try to do with those numbers ?

  • It's a series of albums, this is the 19th one. Check out the Global Underground website...

  • thnx mate ...

  • Whoaaaaa fantastic tune !!!!

  • Way Out West - The Fall

  • JD is the bomb!! Disc 2 is amazing!!!

  • excellent track, sounds better now rather than when it came out.

  • Brother Love Dubs - 1-800 Ming!!!!

    The Best

  • El mejor track de ese disco es ONE LAST TIME. Un dia pinte un cuadro solo de esa cancion, significaba sus texturas, matices y colores, simplemente una continacion excelente para un final de pelicula. Grande John!!

  • wow this is one of my favorites :)

  • Heerlijke dansmuziek!

  • niezly kawalek - nice

  • groso el maricoñazo este!!! no deja de ser el mejor

  • :) :) :)
