ja si myslim ze quattro system je najlepsi aj ked zabera neskor no ide o to kolko clovek prida autu aby mohla ist sila do prednej napravy aby z autom pohlo.inac pekne video :)
@Talybanu88 If you dont know how to use tecnologie i recomend a donkey for you , especially as a taliban it´s much better than a car in the mountains . Quattro is not Torsen , there are the old quattros with a centerdiff wich you can lock and there is the torsen typ .
There is no point saying that, that took forever because look how old that car is it is like 1997-1999 they would have synnetrical AWDs like 2000 plus.
jakieś to dziwne ze to auto nie chce jechać nawet jak przód jest na rolkach... przecież to tak jakby było na lodzie... a u mnie w Syncro nawet na lodzie auto rusza płynnie ;/
if the central diff was actually a TORSEN, then it would just lock 100% when the rear or front axle was on the rollers. thats the way torsen works. it can work from 0 to 100% lock without any wheelspin until engagement...
this one looks like a haldex clutch which is not working properly...but not a torsen
I fact this Audi has Torsen central differential. It's function is based on equal torque distribution between the axles. Torsen -> Torque sensitive. The rollers reduce the toque to the minimum and Torsen was not responding. If a driver applied a handbrake for a while (this creates resistance on rear wheels) Torsen would work instantly and the car would go.
yeah good for you thats how audi esp works cuts power to the front when it slips and reduces power to the rear when it slips. but always cuts power to the front even if the slip is in the back. Reduces understeer.
This car has Torsen (Torque-Sensing) diff locker so it is obviously that it didn't lock the front and rear axles together as the rollers provide 0 resistance on the rear or front axle. Light press on break pedal would solve this problem instatly.
if it was one of the new audis 06-08. it would have moved because the new ones have EDL (electronic differential lock) which basically applies the brakes slightly to provide resistance to the wheels on the rollers. this "tricks" the quattro system to send up to 3 times the torque to the front wheels. In the new B8 S4 in 2009 audi will introduce its new vectoring quattro system which is supposed to have a sport differential on the rear axle which will distribute power accordingly to each wheel.:D
wrong. audi has a torsen center diff, it multiply the torque from the wheels thats spinns and send it to the others (up th 3 times), but when the car is on the rollers there is no torque (0*3=0). but all you have to do is hit the brakes, the the frontweels will start to move (1*3=3)
Aren't all four wheels supposed to be spinning at the same time?

This car don't have ESP!!! It's an old car, the ESP was optional for the A4 and Passat 4MOTION made between 1996-2001.

He pull the hand brake
is the only way to work
Is in the instructions paper of all torsen.
and you can hear the sound of screech hand brake .
is easy to understand.
But it better be this way. this kind of differential works like this, needs a bit of traction on loose wheel for activate the differential.
Is normal
discovery110 1 year ago
thats either a worn out center differential or the drive shaft is broken
dracolnyte 1 year ago
@dracolnyte there'd be a massive clattering noise from the free ends of the drive shaft if it was broken.

@spankeyfish check the video , take a look at the rollers , wich rollers do have contact with the wheel when you here this noice ?!

Torsen is a good choice but not the better, try youtube.com/watch?v=Z6-ERc-DfhA and see how Subaru solves the problem

press the gas pedal harder and it will move. Otherwise the power that goes in front wheels isnt enough..

these A4's didn't have haldex only golf based audi's have haldex

this is fucking torsen, in that conditions it works like an open diff, cause it only fell difference between torque, not axle speed!!!

hehe to nie jest torsen tylko haldex
This is not torsen this is haldex very shit!!!

tidusXIII13 : the audi 1.8T aslo comes with QUATTRO!
that's why it's called 1.8TQ (Turbo AND Quattro)
powercar1 2 years ago
if the center diff is torsen, he just needs to drag the brake slightly and it will it drive right off that.

Know why this video looks like bullshit? AUDI NEVER HAS REAR WHEEL DRIVE. ESPECIALLY the A4. It Either has front wheel drive (1.8t) or quattro 2.8.

The 1.8T is also Quattro...

Can you tell me if 3 wheels will be on rolls, and one on the road? does the car moves??? Very interesting!!!
DimitriyA4 2 years ago
Why is it moving to the left and right in the last part of the video. It almost fell off the rollers. Uneven axle in the front?
83ls 2 years ago
Yes, probably has un-equal half shafts in the front, causing a little torque steer when he accelerated.
atomicfire001 2 years ago
neah, it's because he wasn't pointing straight forward, even with a few degrees off a "straight line" and the car moves left or right. AT ANY CAR
antichrist2death 2 years ago
He was definitely pointed straight, but the car moved to the left on its own.
83ls 2 years ago
maybe the home made rollers weren't pointing straight

no brakes applied on either test? Torsen fucked up because it didn't "lock" center differential?
