  • That's prob cos the song's built on the bass riff, Lil.

  • The bass line's the simplest thing ever, but without it the song would be nothing. Amazing how the simplest of things adds so much to something.

  • He's standing towards the back!

  • This is my favourite live version, as the radio parts fit perfectly!

  • in every country they play some rare radio track in diferent languajes, it's awsome, for example in barcelona they play some catalan chats on the begining, sorry my english.

  • Yeah, in Ireland we always seem to get football scores at the beginning!

  • It's almost always the news they put on, on televison or radio. In holland Johhny actually picked up the actual news with the radio it seems, it looked like it anyways ;p, it the same thing about the traffic i heard the day before! so awesome. But what they should have done was the murder on a politic here in Holland called: Pim Fortuiyn, fits perfectly with this song, he destroyed himself by being to open about everything he thought.

  • Its a radio

  • wats that thing jonneys using in the beggining

  • SNL version was the best ever.

  • Agreed. SNL was the best live version, even though the drums sound very out of tune. Thom is acting weird here :) I love him.

  • oh my god that would be the most incredible thing to be there

  • This is the best live version of "National Anthem" I've ever seen; much better than the Paris show which has been on Showtime. Thom's guitar and intensity rock and make up for the lack of horns heard on the CD.

  • i think thom's superb grunting made up for the lack of brass!
