  • Fine version

  • I listen to this EVERY DAY! What soulful singing.

  • FANTASTIC SONG..NEVER TIRE OF LISTENING TO IT!

  • That 1 person who disliked that- was that David Clyton-Thomas?

  • Jerry Fisher ROCKED! I liked him better than DCT!

  • He looks like Beach Boy/Beethoven Brian Wilson. This was the genius era of the human timeline.

  • Mister Big showed Carrie Bradshaw his Blood Sweat and Tears album when he told her he was leaving New York City for Napa Valley. This was the song he was dedicating to her in his heart. And Carrie ended up kissing Aidan in the second Sex and the City movie. Will Carrie ever let Aidan out of her heart? All I can say is that I am in still in love with Aidan from when he played Chris on Northern Exposure. Something in the way he moves attracts me like no other lover.

  • One of the best live preformances ever

  • camera quality is brilliant. ^_^

  • @leif011 The camera rose to the occasion of this brilliant performance. Cameras are like that.

  • Fabulous JF vocals, a great song and the band are fabulous as well. A classic BST track.

  • Hell yeah! I recorded this concert in German tv on a vhs tape once, now that I see it I remember. Man, this dude sings great, the band plays as a unit, the compositions are complex, this is M U S I C !!!!!

  • Great stuff...always loved this album the most and the live version is fantastic!!!

  • Everyone's looking at Jerry Fisher and then trying to compare to DCT... just doesn't work. Thought he sang "And When I die" well but he totally nails "So long Dixie" - so much soul in one toon!!!!!

  • great quality on this video!

  • @lschmoopie PAL color... genuine German!

  • I had the pleasure of meeting Jerry Fisher once. We have a mutual friend and he owned a bar in Bay St. Louis Mississippi. One of the nicest guys you could ever meet.

  • Good stuff. Colomby sounds great.

  • Fantastic, I think Jerry, DCT and Al K were ALL flippin Great, you don't need to compare, If you swap the singers and their signature tunes around they are all less impressive!

Great video, saw Jerry and this line up in Leeds UK in early 1970s when I was a skint student, Great memories brought back, CHEERS!

  • Knew Jerry in when he was in high school at US GRANT in Oklahoma City ....

and later when he auditioned for BSandT had a really tight Band back then...

Most people don't know that Jerry Fischer is also a VERY credible Keyboard player...

And he was More Noted here in OKC for that...

  • Mitch Hedburg?

  • thelungpipes i doubt your abilities as anything let alone a "vocal trainer!" if you can't hear how beautiful this sounds. I#m guessing sour grapes on your part.

  • beautiful!

  • I agree with jameykeys1, and no one can replace DCT but this too is a signature song for BST.

  • This guy needs music lessons. I am a vocal trainer and if any of you know him have him come to see me. You can reach me through my youtube channel The Lungpipes.

  • YOU are full of crap!

  • Did you even hear me sing?

  • I don't need to hear you sing.

Jerry is no David Clayton Thomas, but - WHO IS? Fact is, his voice fits this song perfectly and his intonation is spot on.

  • @TheLungpipes

Lol ! Oh yes! When you listen to the quality of the band (and orchestrations) behind him, they certainly must have had many difficulties to find another singer... :D

  • @TheLungpipes i doubt your abilities at anything let alone as a 'vocal trainer!' if you cant hear how beautiful this sounds. I'm guessing sour grapes on your part?

  • Jerry Fisher couldn't sing a wrong note even if he tried. Hope to see him sing live somewhere down the road.

  • this is a great song used to play it excellent live version

  • Jerry and the Nightbeats were one of my biggest influences in OKC in the late 60s and early 70s, a classic

  • jerry plays in texas/louisana area..he here and he there but he still singng.. and caring for his mother...and needs to go see his favorate couzin LindaH..hehhe...

  • He looks like one of the GEICO Cave men.

  • hmmmm, i just dont remember dating this guy........but maybe..... lol you know the 70s .... SMILE!

  • frickin awsome ,,,,,,,,,,,

  • Honestly I always preferred Jerry's vocals to DCT's Vegas style crooning!!!!!

  • I actually can't stop playing this, one of the best quality performances I've seen on Youtube. Really hope Jerry Fisher's still making music, what a singer.

  • Jerry stopped performing on a regular basis shortly before his nightclub in Bay St. Louis, MS was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina. He did a Blues Brothers tour in Europe a few years ago.

  • Man those two Jerry's absolutely nail this, what a pairing. Absolutely cracking performance, couldn't stop smiling at the end

  • Incredible live performance - to be enjoyed on max. volume!!!!

  • wow what a great find. I was looking for stuff on Jerry Fisher and stumbled in here. that guy sang his ass off. this not his best song IMO. . . he had an incredible joecoker meets ray charles thing going on when I met him in Bay St, Louis at his nightclub

  • what would you say his best is? so i can hear it...

  • Bill Tillman went to town on that sax.

  • "Years go by,

    some memories fade and die,

    but Dixie you're still shine"

    Great lyrics!!!!!

  • This is how a human should sound!

  • An utterly fantastic live performance by the great (but underrated) Jerry Fisher. Like afoster 103, I've always loved this song from the "New Blood" album. Who would've thought that 2 years later (1974), Jerry Fisher would be teamed with another Jerry (LaCroix) on the album "Mirror Image"? Personally, I loved both set-ups, one lead vocalist and two lead vocalists.

  • does anyone of you know if there's more video material of this gig? i found "more than you'll ver know" an "look up to the sky" but is there still more? is it possible to buy it? thanks!!

    keep playin' that rock'n'roll

  • I always loved this song...the live vocals are even better than the recorded version.

  • yes, if that's even possible!

  • @afoster103 studio version have nice choir.

  • this video blew me away,Jerry moved back to groves texas in the mid 80s and started a new band With me on drums,We had a hell of a band ,with a three piece horn section. We did some shows in houston, and around beaumont area, We also did some shows with edgar winter, who jerry had played with before BS&T.I went on to play for clay walker in the 90s. Well got to go tracy Linder- Bridge City Texas .

  • didnt he sing for edgar winters white trash

  • Great David Clayton Thomas!

Great whatiship73 for this post! Thanks

  • no david clayton thomas here,,,

  • Yes yes..Jerry LaCroix, but I love David Clayton Thomas...

Thanks for this video, my friend. Thanks.

  • Great Post !!!!

Thanks, from BST´s fans in Brazil!

  • Holy Crap! Jerry Fisher AND Jerry Lacroix. You know, I liked David Clayton Thomas but how do you compare to such a powerful duo as these two guys. And of course, what a great incarnation of this band. Fabulous key board work from Larry Willis. And lets not forget one of th best horn sections there was.

  • Timeless piece.

  • I also love this other song from the album "New Blood" titled "Snow Queen" segueing to Herbie Hancock's "Maiden Voyage". Too bad, no one's uploaded any video yet.

  • You should check out the live BS&T gig on Wolfgang's Vault (do a web search), there's a spectacular version of Snow Queen / Maiden Voyage there. Georg Wadenius's solo is the first piece of improvisation to actually bring me to tears it's that beautiful.

  • auch 34 Jahre nach der Aufzeichnung gebührt dieser Band der Status "Extraklasse"!

  • I used to listen to Jerry sing when had his own club in Dallas in the early 70's. What an inspiration. Looks like Derringer on guitar. Too tall though.

  • so much bursting emotions!!

  • Great song that was never really a hit.

  • the last few minutes of this performance are like soul-rock nirvana (not the band, the Buddhist kind)

  • Sweet song....Jerry has the "right-stuff".He could make singing the ABC's righteous!!!! Rock-on Dude...

  • It is about time to add another comment here! I mean, this is really awesome performance. Just compare this to the studio version (which is also great, by the way). I agree that Jerry was underated. See other songs performed by him posted here, if you need any further proof.

  • I agree! Fisher did a very good singer´s job with BS&T. I loved the albums.

  • i love this song he delivers such an emotional version of this song.i like this way better than the recorded version.even with lacroix trying to steal the lime light.lol.however lacroix was a bas ass too
