  • I like to play Phrygian...

  • play A minor and C mayor scale, its perfect

  • awesome

  • B Minor pentatonic it is then....

  • On Bm7 my first choice would be the Bm pentatonic (b, d,e,f#,a) or you could play the A major scale over Bm7 and the E9 that follows it.

  • What to play when change to B chord?

  • @fredwyese the way to sound good isn't knowing what to play on Bm7...its knowing what to play on the F#7 b13 leading into Bm7 and also what to play when coming out of the Bm7 leading into E9. it doesnt matter what you play on one chord as long as you use good resolutions to the next chord you will sound good. thats why when professionals play "outside" the key it doesnt sound bad because they know where they are and where they are going. write the chord tones out and find the differences

  • @fredwyese from chord to chord and then make those distinctions in your playing and it will sound good

  • first
