i have often been envious of homes ability to remain awake and alert for so long; that is, to be so enthralled in a case or problem as to forgo any possible distractions like food and rest. this is one of the qualities that makes him superhuman and enduring. if someone woke me up after 2 hours of sleep, i would not be so cordial.
