Battlebots was a great show, but for the constructors, it is such a money sink. I think the entire format should be redevelop into something with smaller size robots like the Japanese and focused in less violent activities like soccer, sumo robot, or racing in a maze.

That way the bots can still be used and be improved instead of having to make a new one each time. What do you learn each time you make a new one from scratch? not much... you spend all your time rebuilding.

I know that Spike (then TNN/The Nashville Network) had Robot Wars: Extreme Destruction hosted by Mick Foley around the same time frame. Back then, American stations weren't too enthused about airing programs that had inspiration from British shows (Robot Wars was British), so I think Comedy Central wanted to fill time slots. It might also have been tongue in cheek fun being poked at robots killing each other

@theheadshot45 This fight to me symbolised how badly made Mauler was, and that if anything was to go wrong it could have the potential to seriously injure someone, it was supposed to enter the World Championships in the UK, but got disqualified because it was too unsafe. What does it say then about Health and Safety in America that Mauler was DQ-ed in the UK but allowed to compete over in America?

Loving Warhead! Bit of style and drama about it. That's what fighting robots look like in my mind. ... that or tiny versions of Grey Fox from Metal Gear Solid.

When I was in my elementary days, I've done a reactment to battlebots by using legos and construction paper, those were the good days. My parents loved watching this show too.

And then a few years later, the show and genre was gone and i was deeply sad and disappointed and a few more years later, they replace it with something that it has to do with vampires, a shore that is from new jersey (i think?) and a kid that his last name rhymes with beaver. Today's shows, are not entertainment.

Nightmare was the reason they had to put a ceiling on the battlebox. he was going after spinister in a rumble and one of the teeth flew of and hit the owner's (don't know who the owner was or what he owned) sister...she was holding a baby...They even caught it on tape...epic.
