Hey, could you tell me which program you used to record the Video/Audio Signal, I also own a CLP 330 and have not yet found a program which lets me record both signals at once.
It is quite easy to learn, seing as this is an old video i'm far off, most likely you would already have taken my advice without knowing, try play with "Softer" fingers if you get what i mean.
great after 4 Months :D i actually playing since ca. 4 Months too, and tomorrow i get a Yamaha CLP 330 too :) so like i see, its definatly a great E-Piano / Clavinova :) greetings Daniel
Seriously, I haven't been able to find a better interpretation of this song than this one. Apart from your slight mess up in the middle, it sounds pretty much like off a CD, yet different from the original. Well done! :)
But, in my defense - there's a problem in yamaha clavinovas (and all digital pianos): limited tone range between ppp and fff. Actually, there's no ppp or pp in yamaha.
@Jacky571201 - May I ask can you save a song into a thumb drive with Yamaha CLP-320? Does it have a usb port? Yes, I mean CLP-320...someone please tell me...
Very well played, thanks for sharing! Yamaha is a great instrument, my CLP 230 brings me a lot of joy as well :) Btw you can have a look at the Steinberg Grand Piano 2 VST module and for example Cantabile Lite as a VST host. When connecting to the PC running this software via USB it gives the sound of almost the "real" concert piano.
@ekklesiast External ones. I guess it is not possible to use internal speakers as an audio output from PC running VST - at least without modification of Yamaha's electronics. At least in the case of CLP 230, but perhaps your model allows
@arturm75 You can use internal speakers, you just need to connect your sound source (soundcard) to "AUX IN" and set "Local control" function to OFF to switch off CLP230 internal tone generator (see p.43 and p.56 of CLP230 manual).
I tried to use sample libraries, with internal and external speakers, but always returned to native CLP330 sound. Its far from perfect, but with another samples there is a feeling that samples are "disconnected" from keyboard and instrument overall.
@arturm75 Anyway, I have sold my 330 already, and now thinking what to buy next - CLP370 or new Roland model - HP307, which has very promising technology inside.
Ekklesiast, you mean you had been playing the piano only for 4 month when you learnt this? If so, you are great! I started taking piano lessons 1 year ago, I saw "The Piano" movie this week-end and I am dying to learn this piece, but it seemed difficult for my level even if I already learnt some complicated songs by now. If you say it is not, then I am going to try! Thank you for your reply! :-)
Can you tell us how you did the recording? Your recording seems way better than other CLP 340 user? How did you do it? what tone color, how to made it so stereo, Thanks
Hi again! I have a question for you: today arrived my new piano, a Yamaha CLP330 :) It sounds great and it is very beautiful but...the keys make a sound like a thud when they are depressed and also seems to tremble a bit. Does your piano do the same? Is it normal? Does it bother you? It bother me fi I play in low volume. Thanks!
If i understood you correctly, its normal, the same is with my keyboard. When key hits the keybed, it makes this thud sound. And by the way, I just sold my CLP330. Not sure what to buy now, maybe CLP370 or new Roland HP307.
Good Job! Your performance is very good! But take care of your stops when you do a mistake, just keep playing, don't stop! Anyway! beautiful interpretation! ; D
thank you for the advice on the piano. I'll definitely look at the 340 now. Where I live the 330 is quite a bit cheaper, but I really want something I won't be dissapointed with. So maybe it is better to buy the 340 non polished ebony instead of 330PE. Thanks
Can you recommend a type of piano that I can buy since I'm a beginner and don't really know what kind to get. Should it be an upright? A digital? A keyboard?
I personally think that Yamahas are the best, but some people prefer Rolands. Go to music store and try different brands/models by yourself. Among Yamahas do not go lower than CLP330 - it has realistic GH3 keyboard. CLP340 is the best in terms of price/value - i strongly recommend it - more powerful speakers, more nuances in sound (which i miss on my 330). Avoid CLP370 - much higher price without essential improvements. CLP380 is a gem, buy it if you have money.
very good for a 4 month old player.

@generalblackice audio is recorded from the line-out, not usb. video and audio are recorded simultaneously.

Just connect piano phone-out to soundcard line-in. Also add a litte chorus or phaser (3-6) and a reverb (10-15).

Well, I am a beginner too, bought this 4 month ago and never played piano before.
Buy a grand piano if you have a lot of money and your own house ) Or else you should look at digitals (forget keyboards if you want play on _piano_).
