Game scares me a bit too much to even watch gameplay anymore - the story is just way too much for me to deal with. But it IS a fantastic story, and the music is gorgeous. <3
I love how the game has this "Alice in wonderland" feel - only dark and twisted in Jennifer's hidden memories.. one question.. why did she have to remember all of those horrible things?? Q_Q: the molesting, the bullying, her dead dog .___.;; so sad
Not to mention the abrupt death of both her parents, the murder of at least one of her subsequent guardians at the orphanage, the self-blame because she felt indirectly responsible for the massacre of her fellow orphans, the possible molestation by Diana, ...and her dog was killed by the one she loved, who also got killed.
But remember in the last chapter, how she lamented their deaths being minimized because of her miraculous survival. The dead can only live on in the memories of the living.
The dead will live on as long as they are remembered, but some must be forgotten to let go of painful memories, like Gregory here. Man, the whole orphanage is so screwed up, unsurprising if there is a real life case like this, cause there probably is.
@usanto I grew up in an orphanage and theres lots of dark things that go on there. Not as intense as this but pretty damn close, the childen I lived with started their own clique and were extremely cruel to new children. One boy disrespected one of the clique members and one day he stopped coming outside to play. I went to look for him and his bed was stripped and the sheets were folded neatly. All his drawings were gone too.
@Jill4ChrisRedfeild If I interpreted correctly, she has to remember because a part of her WANTED to remember. She didn't want to forget her "friends" (and especially Brown.)
i found that i only played this game to know the story! :D
sure, the gameplay is pretty sucky compared to most games, but the story behind it really makes up for it! i can never find any games with a creepy horror story that can best this one. :[[
i have Rule of Rose, and u wont believe how much stuff there is to sniff out with Brown. . . its a killer sniffing out the same rooms everytime u play a new chapter.

I bought a copy on ebay for 20 bucks last month (May 18th I believe it was and got it on the 27th). I can give you the sellers name if you like since he actually sells it really cheap brand new. ^^ I freaking LOVED this game and definitely has got replay value.

It's a really nice game. :) The story is just beautiful, sure the gameplay may not be the best, but at least the rest of the game is just wonderful!!

It was only available with preorders, I believe. You can't get it anymore except maybe on eBay and I haven't found it there yet. :(
