Stop hating guys.... when the show aired in the 70's, it was dubbed in English... I remember Junie Gamboa's voice as Dr. Hook. So the networks decided to do an English versionof the songs as well. I remember this one... also the opening theme's english version was recorded by the pinoy teen group known as The Nail Clippers.... the song actually was translated well. it is actually a father's song to his kids... wishing that even though he won't be around, they should follow their dreams....
ang pangit ng boses. sinu ba yan? tang ina ang chaka! parang lasing lang! bwiset! buti na lang never pinlay yang english version na yan sa pinas. kalurkey!
Hi Thanks for all your comments good or bad I take them as a friendly advice to improve my craft...am 57 yrs old now...I sang this 1979 at Cinema Audio then owned by Jose Mari Gonzalez...Sunny Ilacad of Octo-arts picked me to interpret this Father's Theme of Voltes 5 released under Columbian records 1980 I supposed...my name is there at the record album's cover..Burt Sarangay..God bless!!!
@burtalberto why am i not surprised that you never made it to contemporary music scene? lol. you lambasted a classic (of course at that time it wasn't a classic yet) and turned it to a complete trash. the gall to post it here! what improve are you talking about? at your age? nobody is buying you man! nobody! as in!
Nasorpresa ko, ngayon ko lang narinnig to, ang panget pa ng arrangement. yung orig Jap version, sobrang ganda, kakatouch, tearjerker, eto walang kwenta parang pambatang tula na ginawang kanta. just my 2c.
The meaning of the song in nihongo is 'Searching for Dad' how come they came up with this English version? It's absolutely NOT a translation-- the lyrics are different from the Japanese version.
and the Jap singer had a much better voice quality...
i think this is the version that is included in the vinyl recording. if i am not mistaken, the title of the vinyl is super robots.
naalala ko tuloy nung high school ako, late 80's, when this was re-shown on channel 4 together with daimos. sabado ng hapon, 6 o'clock. pinalabas din sya sa iba pang mga channels, 2, 7, 13 din ata. reminiscin' the good ol' days.
oohhhhh! here is my childhood memories again... i wish i could go back to my childhood years one more time... this cartoon will never die....it will live forever...
Wouldn't it be great to hear this song when your old 'n' grey in the radio?
LOLZ, I'm just thingking of myself; I can imagine myself old 'n' weak and with curved back listening to the radio. Then suddenly I hear it. I will surely cry a tear of happiness as I remember the days of my youth, ahhhh..........
it reminds me of my childhood memo, now that i am a father of 2, i used to tell stories to my son... i wish it would come back so he could enjoy it too and be part of his childhood memories...
Language translations are approximations of the the truth embedded in another language. Some words cannot be found in another or that they don't fit with the context of the song or thought. But it is acceptable as long as you can connect to what the speaker says. Great song - reminds me of my long lost youth...25 years ago. Nice upload.
At least they tried. Modern dubs just leave the signing in Japanese. It's not a bad thing, but I think they should try to make it in English if they can. They did those two song in Haruhi, I don't see why they couldn't do the opening and the ending as well.
the song aint bad but i was so accustomed to the original japanese version that hearing this simply didnt feel right. still good though.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think this is just a fan dub. The original ending of the Filipino Voltes V was Japanese, as far as I know.
