  • the song aint bad but i was so accustomed to the original japanese version that hearing this simply didnt feel right. still good though.

  • Stop hating guys.... when the show aired in the 70's, it was dubbed in English... I remember Junie Gamboa's voice as Dr. Hook. So the networks decided to do an English versionof the songs as well. I remember this one... also the opening theme's english version was recorded by the pinoy teen group known as The Nail Clippers.... the song actually was translated well. it is actually a father's song to his kids... wishing that even though he won't be around, they should follow their dreams....

  • Title nito dapat "I want my Father"...anong sparrow sinasabi sa lyrics? hay?...boses pa ata ni Michale V.....

  • si Michael V ba kumanta nito?..

  • God this song is so nostalgic....

  • Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think this is just a fan dub. The original ending of the Filipino Voltes V was Japanese, as far as I know.

  • this song is soo beautiful

  • ang pangit ng boses. sinu ba yan? tang ina ang chaka! parang lasing lang! bwiset! buti na lang never pinlay yang english version na yan sa pinas. kalurkey!

  • mali ang lyrics.. searching for my Father.. dapat ito

  • Hi Thanks for all your comments good or bad I take them as a friendly advice to improve my craft...am 57 yrs old now...I sang this 1979 at Cinema Audio then owned by Jose Mari Gonzalez...Sunny Ilacad of Octo-arts picked me to interpret this Father's Theme of Voltes 5 released under Columbian records 1980 I supposed...my name is there at the record album's cover..Burt Sarangay..God bless!!!

  • @burtalberto why am i not surprised that you never made it to contemporary music scene? lol. you lambasted a classic (of course at that time it wasn't a classic yet) and turned it to a complete trash. the gall to post it here! what improve are you talking about? at your age? nobody is buying you man! nobody! as in!

  • @TheMav2020 wow, i'd like to see things from your point of view, but i can't stick my head that far up my ass.

  • @burtalberto Thank you for the reply! I dig the lyrics here anyway.

  • nothing beats the japanese version!

  • i dont wanna be mean..but this is gay..

  • @Jziejazz lol!

  • si bitoy

  • micheal v kumanta..

  • little sparrow...little spArrow...! lol

  • actually the english song is nice but it could use a few improvements in the lyrics, arrangements and the vocal quality ... but workable

  • parang lasing yung kumakanta...maganda pa rin yung orig na jap's song

  • VERY BAD TRANSLATION! daikirai! 大嫌い!!!

Nasorpresa ko, ngayon ko lang narinnig to, ang panget pa ng arrangement. yung orig Jap version, sobrang ganda, kakatouch, tearjerker, eto walang kwenta parang pambatang tula na ginawang kanta. just my 2c.

The meaning of the song in nihongo is 'Searching for Dad' how come they came up with this English version? It's absolutely NOT a translation-- the lyrics are different from the Japanese version.

and the Jap singer had a much better voice quality...

  • little sparrow...kanta ng New People's Army...LOL

  • aus to ah kaso sayang looped lng haha xD

  • akala ko si jimmy santos si michael v pala! hahahhaha

  • actually its a michael v song

  • Ok lang...tho, parang videoke quality...but I like the translation.. Thanks.

  • michael V ikaw bayan? hahah kaboses

  • @davesp ahaha tama kaboses ni micheal V...!! hahaha..!!

  • parang pang videoke na pangkanto, or something you hear when you pass by divisoria or baclaran

siguro a children's choir or an all girl group may sing it better

  • ang tigas ng punto ng kumakanta, will anyone out there do a better job? maganda pa naman sana yung 70's lyrics

mas nakakaantig pa yung original japanese

  • i think this is the version that is included in the vinyl recording. if i am not mistaken, the title of the vinyl is super robots.

naalala ko tuloy nung high school ako, late 80's, when this was re-shown on channel 4 together with daimos. sabado ng hapon, 6 o'clock. pinalabas din sya sa iba pang mga channels, 2, 7, 13 din ata. reminiscin' the good ol' days.

  • Parang si Padre Felino ata ang kumakanta..

  • no offense dun sa singer, mas gusto ko pa japanese version. jimmy nga na micahel v. natatawa me. hahhahaha!

  • hahahaha!!! Pinaghalong JImmy Santos at Michael V!!!

  • parang si bitoy ung kumakanta?!?

  • LOL!!!! i agree with runeskitten!!! parang si Jimmy Santos nga yung kumakanta!!!

  • Is this the "original" English version

of this song? I have an original copy

of the 45 but the voice of the singer

    is different.

  • ay ano ba yan am panget.. parang c jimmy santos kumanta

  • This is not a direct translation of the Japanese song.

Original song was about finding their father.

  • hehe! bitoy ikaw ba yan?!!

  • lyrics are different than the original lyrics on japanese,

i noticed it when reading the japanese subs,

  • haha..parang micheal v.. lng ahh haa...

  • woah...astig ah..hahah!!!

  • Michael V ikaw b yan? sana pinarinig sa bubble gang!

  • Sana lang yong totoong translation ang inadopt

  • si jimmy santos ba to?

  • oo yata boses na boses eh

  • I preffer the Japanese one.

  • kaboses ni micheal v. hahah...

  • uu nga hahahaha

  • im so sorry but i dont like...the japanese song is about a missing father...i just hope they stuck to it

  • Wouldn't it be great to hear this song when your old 'n' grey in the radio?

LOLZ, I'm just thingking of myself; I can imagine myself old 'n' weak and with curved back listening to the radio. Then suddenly I hear it. I will surely cry a tear of happiness as I remember the days of my youth, ahhhh..........

  • Wow! Awesome! Sounds like Gordon Lightfoot!

  • This version greatly differs from ths one - watch?v=dcoh1q4EEPk which I think is closer to the original Japanese lyrics

  • voltes v forever...

  • it reminds me of my childhood memo, now that i am a father of 2, i used to tell stories to my son... i wish it would come back so he could enjoy it too and be part of his childhood memories...

  • Language translations are approximations of the the truth embedded in another language. Some words cannot be found in another or that they don't fit with the context of the song or thought. But it is acceptable as long as you can connect to what the speaker says. Great song - reminds me of my long lost youth...25 years ago. Nice upload.

  • @IMNODOCTOR Voltes V will always be the greatest anime character of all time. It takes me back 31 years ago when I was 10 years old that was 1979.

  • the translation is not the same in japanese lyrics

  • At least they tried. Modern dubs just leave the signing in Japanese. It's not a bad thing, but I think they should try to make it in English if they can. They did those two song in Haruhi, I don't see why they couldn't do the opening and the ending as well.

  • awesome!
