I thought maybe if i didn't listen to this for a while then come back and listen THEN i would hear it....sadly i don't and it still sounds really bad. Lars inner metronome is completely off at times, James barely got threw it cause he just can't sing it the old way (god i wish he didnt learn how to "sing"), and the Eb tuning doesn't make it sound heavy it just sounds like a rock version which really hurts me. I love these guys but its time to retire (just like Dave Munstaine my hero) *sniffle*

Everybody gets old and so does James. Actually, his voice was not very proper to sing growling or shouting styles as you know. Just load their first album KILL EM ALL on your CD player and check his voice. It is also totally different from the voice in late 80s and 90s, right? I miss his old voice too, but we should not blame him. When it comes to HIS voice, the change was inevitable, I think.

its crazy how they have literally gotten 10x better as musicians but since James changed the way he sing and they have gotten rich (kinda hard to play "angry" when ya have butlers and ranchs) they sound totally different even doing the old stuff. They are like a Metallica Lite now, far from Thrash Metal and more Rock Alternative. Honestly when i heard this(a roommate was listening to it) i was like "Who the hell is disgracing my band with that shitty cover....Oh its them...damnmit"

@eyepatchinc Nobody back then ever threw a ton of money at an unproven band who is recording their debut album, like they do now, so I don't know why those people are making those comments about the album's production. It really could've been much worse......just listen to any Black Sabbath album with and without Rodger Bain's name on it and you notice what a good producer can do with a small amount of money and who can't. By 1983 standards, it wasn't that good, but still adequate production.
