@SuperKayraz I have not been able to get Neem oil locally here. I use Neem oil leaf shine spray which is ready preparedmixture of neem oil and water. My experience with it has been that it is a mild pesticide and harmless to the plant. However I need to keep a veyr close eye and many repeat applications. There is an excellent article published by the Ottawa Orchid society on Neem Oil in their website.Check also one of the sites I subscribe to NewEnglandgardening, he has commented on Neem oil.
@Sooneaty. Thanks for the good advice. I will take your advice and tell you how it goes. I am starting a new website so I will tell you it when I complete it. :)
NO. If you have only one wrinkled leaf, and the others are healthy, dont change anything. Keep going with your watering routine and hope the plant makes some healthy roots. Moss is more likely to be soggy and cause root rot. Make sure the bark is dry before you water again. Keep a humidity tray under the pot. You have to fight your instinct to water when you see a wrinkled leaf. Less is more in this case.
At Costco. I'm starting to do research on how to care for them. In the past I failed as I didn't know I had to keep watering as normal. Thanks for the tips, very helpful
Thank you! I love them and gaze at their faces every morning with my cup of tea and in the evening too. I bought these from Costco and Superstore last year in September.
The cut end of the spike should turn dry and yellow. Only Phalaenopsis will rebloom after cutting the spike. Please see my video Return of the spike.... it shows you clearly where it broke and where the new one came.
Thank you Monch990. Regarding light, a west facing window or south west facing is good too, as long as the plants get some direct light even a couple of hours of slanting sunlight from the evening sun is good. I read somewhere that you have to give them as much sun as they can tolerate without getting sunburn spots on the leaves. I enjoy posting the videos too next to gazing at the plants twice a day.
Dear Sooneaty, thank you for the beautiful video. I am learning more about these butterfly-orchids since it is difficult to let them rebloom and keep the plant healthy. I do not have an east-facing window, but try to give the plants daylight in our livingroom. Please keep up showing video's as I enjoy them...

Should I just switch the orchid from bark to moss to make it easier? There is still one leaf that is wrinkled.

What if after you cut the spike it turned black at the top? About a centimeter of black on it. It won't make secondary spike?
