i grew up in the 80's and in my opinion Freddy was the king of horror. I was offended by this movie all the way around. The original Freddy had so much character and charisma and he would've kicked the new Freddy's ass. But I would put the majority of blame on the producers of this simple minded piece of shit, from the abercrombie/model/zombie actors to the changing of the plot. The creators of this remake need to be doing reality tv shows like the hills for mtv not directing horror movies.

I liked the first freddy but the sequels were atrocious, if people could handle how badly those sequels smeared the series, then they should be cool with an amazing actor coming in to remind people that nightmare is not just bad puns and goofy 80s blood. this movie can only be a good thing (but I may be biased...JEH is delicious)

I don't feel this remake is more serious and dark at all. The original movie was terribly dark and serious. This one looks kind of dull.

I think this looks awesome! People need to stop comparing it, it's not going to be the first one. That should be expected. It's a RE- MAKE. I love his voice, I love his face- he looks like a real burn victim. That makes it scarier in my opinion. I can't wait to see this movie!!
