Her main qualification for the presidency is 20 months as governor of Alaska, a tiny state with simple politics, because 80% of its income is from oil drilling and 10% from federal earmarks and federal welfare.

She's been out of the country only once in her life. Her speeches are written by other people.

Funny, I have the opposite reaction.

I've read McCain's books and Obama's over the last year, followed the campaigns and listened to interviews and speeches. To me, Obama seems consistently more thoughtful and straight-forward, since his first book 13 years ago.

On the other hand, Palin has spent the first week of her candidacy repeating obvious falsehoods (see factcheck). How can you respect that?
