  • very nice saw

  • cut things with a knife towards my body, thanks for the tip

  • As you were putting it together, I was like, that's not gonna cut shit.

I ate my words as you sliced through that tree. Well done!

  • i love ur knife were did u get it

  • @lotrpainter hey,just type mora 511

  • Thanks for your time and insight!!!

  • nice

  • What type of wood did you use for the saw?

  • What did you use to keep the blade on there, thanks.

  • @chrisekelman

    just some small sticks,

  • GREAT VIDEO

  • What is that stick tied to the string at the end of the vid?

  • @ExtremeWelder That keeps the string twisted, to keep the blade tight.

  • Užitečné video díky. Je to vždy krásný pocit když si člověk něco vyrobí vlasní prací.

  • Díky to byla legrace, že se ti líbí video

  • You make it look easy, but for most of us, it would take much longer, with a lot worse results. ;-)

    You must have 'anti-freeze' for blood! .... I'll bet it's around 0° F. (-20° C.) there.

I would love to be there learning bush-craft from you, but the truth is, I would wuss-out on you and have to get warm! :-Þ

    Great skills!

    ★★★★★

  • Sharp tools mate

  • Wow! That's impressive.

  • thanks

  • Great vid ! Excellent skill to have. Looks like a fun project, going to have to try it myself.

  • I see you cut off the guard of you mora 740. How does it feel without the guard? Great video and saw.

  • the best thing about this saw is the quickness of making it and it's not limited to one blade length, since the cross beam isn't bored into the handles, but goes around them, allowing it to be adjustable, you could even cut large trees with it if you wanted to, just buy a longer blade and use it.

  • Great job. Learning alot from you. Thank you.

  • Great stuff:) Youre a truly bushcrafter!! Skitbra!!

    5/5

  • thanks mange

  • Keep em coming Freddie, that is some fine work, pure skill there and you never stop amazing me with what you do, the good thing is you never do it just for the camera, you really enjoy it, you can see that... people are gonna learn alot from you, i know i have.. thanks :-0)

  • Your the king of BUSHCRAFT Fredde! I hadn`t seen this video! Just Beautiful! Great job!!! 10/10

  • That was really awesome!

  • Excellent. Great video. Thanks!

  • Hi Hobbexp! I'm going to try my hand at a bucksaw like this tommorrow and was wondering how you created the holes for the wood plugs that hold the blade in: use your knife, a slim bowdrill, a multi-tool ect?

  • i just cut in wher the wood plugs gonna be, you can see that in the video,

  • ohh ok, I thought there was a seperate hole punched through for the pins to keep the blade from falling out. I guess if you are bearing down on the saw there isnt much chance of it coming loose from the bottom lol =) thanks!

  • you can see how hard i saw the logs in the video, i think all you need to know is in the video :0) good luck

  • Very nice work.

Bush Buck Saw is a lost art.

    Thanks

  • Inspiring! Nice work!

  • Hobbexp you are awesome! I love to watch your videos, especially on days when I can't go myself out into the woods. Your woodworking skills are great.

  • thanks

  • i totally agree! fredde u are amazing! i wish i could live in sweden so i can take advantage of ur loose nature laws!

  • very impressive good work

  • thanks, nice to hear you like it, :0)

  • I like it so much I just made my own version.

I used a Bahco wood blade and metal bolts as pivots to connect to posts to the cross beam and to hold the blade in place.

  • another great and easy to follow cid

    thank you for posting it

    question.

how did you secure the saw blade on each end?

I have seen another vid on you tube where the person carried screws to do it.

I would love to go in woods with kids and try making one of these

also what type of mora knife do you use?

    thanks again

  • yeah its a fun thing to do,

i secure the blad with stick from some hard wood, and my knife is Mora Frost Viking, :0) M,F,V

  • your knife is beastly

  • that cuts sweet nice job

  • Super cool!!! Right on.

  • right on man, that was way cool!

  • good job

  • Pile of piss. I didnt think people were dumb enough to believe these any more lol.

Anyway, I'll just use this video to make a buck saw and fight him off with that!

  • you are always very efficient in your efforts; it is a pleasure to watch and learn.

  • thanks, :0)

  • I haven't used a hand saw in such a long time that I don't remember if the cut should be on the pull or the push stroke. Another great video by the way. Gave you 5 stars.

  • thanks, the blade i have cut both on the pull and the push, its saw faster that way,

  • I really appreciate the way you use inexpensive materials and tools along with your skills and God given talents to make excellant bush equiptment! It's something I've been interested in all my life and I'm now 57 years old and am still learning. Please keep up the good work.

  • The usual high standard we have came to expect, thanks for puting on line, great to see

  • thanks, :0)

  • Another brilliant video. Many thanks.

  • thanks,

  • Thanks for this great video...right along with your signature style...little on talk, big on doing! :) Work on Mrs. to reveal some more of those Philippne secrets.

  • thanks, and the Philippne secrets, see what we can do, its a little wrong season fore Philippne stuff now,

  • nice job.

i understand to make mp3 players, digital cameras and such require geniuses, but we should all be able to make simple tools and furnitures.

    important note.

the top bar and bottom bar should not be equal length.

  • is not need to be that way, but that ending up that way, this time,

    thanks for your comment.

  • You are extremely talented! Great Job!

  • thanks, nice to hear.

  • Oh, and nice snow by the way, you lucky Swede...

  • few hour day light, after that, complete darkness and falling temperature.

    lucky,, hehehe, :0)

  • Totally agree that it's surprising how few people use a saw - I often see someone hacking through a log with great effort and offer them my saw, much to their surprise. I only carry a little folder though - the one you've made here is beautiful (as always...)!

  • thanks, nice to hear you like the saw i make,

  • a saws is effective tool, and fairly safe for beginners.

  • great video :)

  • thanks,

  • Another great video. Nice to see one made not using the tongue and groove and made whilst in the woods.

    Well done.

    Sean

  • thanks, i just like to do it more simple.

    Beautiful buck saw.

    Keep yourself warm.

  • thanks, its not that cold, its only -4-5c

  • great video, very nice looking and effective tool you made.

  • thanks, :0)

  • Well done if you were really stuck you could use a survival wire saw instead of the hacksaw blade

Tip:Im not trying to be a safety freak or anything and I know your not an idiot but when using the saw you shouldn't be standing and cutting towards your leg one slip and you can have a nasty gash(I once saw it happen)!!!

    Great vid 5/5

  • thanks, maybe you cant see that in the video, but my leg is very far a way from the saw blade.

  • Oh ok just making sure you dont lose a leg lol!!

  • Fantastic video, thank you so much for making it and the lovely saw! What were you looking at prior to making the cut in the first handle? (at 1:18?)

  • thanks, i look at the shape.

  • brill vid looks, cold up there, wats the temp?

  • to day -4-5c
