Great video. My son and I just applied for a May 2012 permit for a rim-to-rim. I've done the South Kaibab - Bright Angel loop a couple of times (in Nov 2009 we made it up the NK as far as Ribbon Fals), and I know a day rim-to-rim wouldn't work for me. I'm keeping my fingers crossed! Great pics, and great music. Thanks for sharing.
Mahler 5th Symphony "Adagietto." Had this on sheet music and his wife-to-be read it, since she was also a composer and could hear it in her head, and realized it was his way of courting her.
Also pervades the film "Death in Venice" so sometimes called "The Death in Venice music."
John McCain did this trip with his son at about age 70 -- 7000 feet down from South Rim, 5000 feet up North Rim.
Mahler 2? Darn mules. For those without the use of legs, I guess. Looks like you had a great trip. Those who just look from the rim haven't seen the Canyon, IMO.

Hey, I stumbled back on this video after completing my own South to North one-day hike. Lots of familiar scenes. Great experience.
