ive had five hamster and none of them ever bite me i still have the fifth one theyre adorable maybe you should pick him up first with a tool and not ur hand then when it calms down put it on ur hand mine licks me everytime :D
However if you put your finger in front of their face of course they will bite you. What else are they supposed to do? But if your just holding them they usually wont. I did have a little nasty one that tried to bite her way through my hand to get away.
my hamster bites me too but for fun and it dont hurts she is so cute her name is urzula

I have 6 hammies and only one of them i couldn't tame fully and would bit alot
try to give him a treat with tongs, and once he is comfortable with taking the treat, try usng your fingers and go back and start again if he bites
it worked with my hams so good luck!

This hamster's just never been a nice one, regardless, he's still got a good life, I just pick him up with gloves on, or wrap him in a towel.
