  • @thomashester2 Yeah, it might be part of your world. Thanks! :)

  • sniff sniff :(......

  • Sounds asian. Not African

  • Reminds me of 'part of your world' from the little mermaid

  • @TheGreatMeadow it is suppose to have elements of part of your world and somewhere that's green in it :)

  • This song sounds awfully familiar. I can't quite put my finger on it though.

  • @FrozenWafflesFTW part of your world?

    somewhere that's green?

  • I started singing this song as soon as I realized that the University of Utah offers my dream major. :)

  • @ABookwormAndProud Out of curiosity, what's your dream major?

  • 5 People don't appreciate wonderfully written showtunes...

  • This is so funny for salt lakers xD

  • Salt Lake City...Im ashamed for not getting the joke right away lol.

  • @MrBballer2500 same

  • th anks for posting the songs from the album!

  • "this side of me" from cannibal! the musical anyone? :)

  • At this point in the song, I can't help but cry: "You were right, mama, you didn’t lie –

The place is real, and I’m gonna flyyy!" ;-( So sad...

  • It took me months to figure out that "Sal Tlay Ka Siti" means "Salt Lake City". Damn.

  • Utah... The holy land.

  • 3 people just dont know good singing, no excuse to dislike this

  • yep-the goat meat there izz plen-ti-ful...too bad this title won't fit on a license plate-

  • This woman's voice is amazing.

  • @DarkAngelForsaken you know, she actually had to make up the accent for the show. She's amazing

    !

  • @DarkAngelForsaken this is why she won the tony award

  • 3 people obviously don't believe in paradise . . .

  • @AnniesSoCool They weren't on the bus with us. ;)

  • Uhm...new audition song for everything!

  • Sal Tlay Ka Siti = Salt Lake City?

  • @Roenazarrek Yep. :)

  • @Roenazarrek Yes... Mormons made it..

  • @Roenazarrek yes :)

  • Damn! I wanna go to Saltlake City! It sounds like those describtions that fake place... whats it called? Oh yeah! Heaven!

  • You know it's a good song if you feel depressed while you're laughing.

  • Such a funny, yet heartwarming song

  • 9 Tony Awards!

  • damn straight she won best featured actress in a musical. she deserved it. congrats nikki.

  • i live in salt lake city.... its exactly like that!!! i hope this comes to utah! maybe if i pray hard enough!!

  • @7tanabanana I don't think too many in people would want this musical to tour into Utah.

  • It took listening to this song about twenty times before I realized "Sal Tlay Ka Siti" is "Salt Lake City", I'm an idiot. xD

  • @pomegranatexjuice

It's ok....me too :) although it probably isnt very comforting to you to know that you did something that a blonde did :)

  • @pomegranatexjuice I, honestly, never realized that O.O

  • Amazing.

This is the only song on the brilliant and hilarious album where I can ignore the jokes, and just listen to it as a beautiful, heartbreaking ballad. (A.K.A. the only one that I can listen to on my iPod in front of people without looking like a freak. XD )

  • Salt Lake City looks just like this....

  • 2:45 to 3:51- If I had a nickel for every time I've said that to myself.... -_-

  • what a beautiful song...i want to sing it too...

  • Oh god this is so incredibly funny.

  • The word "shitty" has never sounded so sweet.

  • This sounds like Part of your world!

  • @candler128 yes that and (i know this isn't a musical) but also Out There from Hunchback of Notre Dame.

  • @KyleOgilvie1 Actually. Hunchback does qualify as a musical film. It's just not broadway.

  • @perciusmandate ok, yeah i realize that now, beffore meant broadway not musical. and apperently that is soon gonna change because disney is planning to make Aladdin Hunchback and Jungle Book into musicals.

  • @KyleOgilvie1 The Aladdin musical exists. It was in Seattle this summer.

  • Am I the only person who finds this song unbearably sad somehow?

  • @Rikkyfox Its more bittersweet than sad.

  • @Rikkyfox No, you're not. Outrageously funny but also heartbreaking.

  • Wow after a whole week I finally found out it was "Salt Lake City" I am so late. and I feel so dumb

  • Hearing what she thinks heaven must be makes me laugh because it's so strange to me, but cry because it's true.

  • i thot sal tlay kasiti was ugandan for heaven...

after a while i figured it out... felt so dumb.

  • @OurlostIsland its ok friend, i thought it was really sentimental and sweet... then i figured it out and felt stupid

  • I feel dumb...I just realized that "Sal Tlay Ka Siti" sounds like Salt Lake City....

  • I'm pretty sure this is an homage to "Somewhere That's Green" from "Little Shop of Horrors." Both are longing list songs sung from a less-than ideal setting, and they both conclude with a high note followed by a few more lines sung softly.

  • What a wonderful combination of ludicrous, offensive and touching.

  • 2 people havent gone to sal tlay ka siti????

  • I'm on my way

Soon life won't be so shitty

    Now salvation has a name

    Sal Tlay Ka Siti...

Not that's some funny stuff dudes and dudettes!!

  • castle in a cloud, i'm guessing.

  • @thestatethatiamin somehwere that's green :))

  • Hey, I live in Sal Tlay Ka Siti! I'm not Mormon though... But boy do I like Red Cross flour. Deelish..

  • I had to listen to this 4 times to realize that "Sal Tlay Ka Siti" is "Salt Lake City". I feel stupid.

  • @Dracosgirl547

    You couldn't tell from context?

  • @Dracosgirl547 I didn't realize it until I read your post. In our defense, seeing it in the context of the play we would have gotten it, I bet!

It's my favorite city name in a song since in TITANIC, one of the little Irish girls in steerage saw a place on a map "Al-ber-q-q, I hope it looks like Donegal."

  • "...there's a Red Cross on every corner with all the flour you can eat" LOL

This is an amazing song. Funny yet at the same time shows perfectly how our perceptions are shaped by our surroundings and situation.

It's a perfect microcosm for the show as a whole.

  • Watch this one take a Tony award!

  • @MJBarns I guess u were right

  • @sauda619 9 times!

  • @MJBarns you were right!!

  • @MJBarns or nine.

  • @hysteria347 I gte to see it in Denver :)

  • @MJBarns It's Jesus!

  • This song is sad but screamingly hysterical.

  • where flies dont bite your eyeballs and human life has worth.

some of the most moving lines make me laugh

  • i wanna go to sal thlay ka siti hey dude im going to utah

    ......you fucking weirdo
