Mary Magdalene and the women are the essential witnesses to the resurrection story. By today's court room standards they would not be credible witnesses since the Bible says they were afflicted with evil spirits and demons. [Luke 8:2] We would say today that they were mentally ill.

Yeshua, Jesus fulfilled over a hundred prophecies in His First Coming, and the appointed Spring festivals of God. Likewise He will fullfil even more prophecies in His Second Coming and the Fall festuvals of God.
I watched this wonderful video on Easter. Thank you for it and to our Sinless, Prophecied Passover Lamb of God.
John 6:54 ""He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day"" Some gullible people who wanted eternal life stole the body, closed the tomb to hide their deed, and ate Jesus.
Isn't that a more probable explanation for an empty tomb than resurrection? If you use your head you could think of even more probable explanations.
I'm pretty sure that Christianity doesn't encourage cannibalism. Luke is considered one of the greatest historians of all time, and was known for getting his facts straight. There were Roman guards who would've seen someone move the boulder, which would've taken many people to move, and it would be impossible for anyone to get to Jesus without them knowing.
Throughout history there have been cannibal cults. Probably not Jews but there were other people living in the area who may have eaten Jesus.
What makes you think the guards were Romans? What makes you think the stone was hard to move?
There are many reasons for a missing corpse. I picked the most outrageous to demonstrate that even the most outrageous is more probable than Jesus resurrecting.
That's what shows Jesus' divinity. The Bible says that Pilate told the Pharisees to "take a guard." The Pharisees remembered that Jesus has said he would rise in three days, and they wanted to make sure that the tomb was secure so that Jesus' followers couldn't take the body and say that he had risen. The guard would've had to be a Roman soldier if he was ordered by Pilate. Secondly, there were 500 witnesses of Jesus during his teaching after the resurrection. A few may be a lie, but 500?
The first night that Jesus was dead there were no guards on the tomb. Anyone, for several good reasons, could have removed the corpse, and closed the tomb to conceal the fact that they had removed the corpse.
What you don't get is that it was Passover. There were many pilgrims, who were also fans of Jesus, around. During passover, it is impossible for everyone to fit inside the city walls, so the hills were likely packed with people. The rolling away of the stone would have caused enough commotion to intrigue some of these people to notice and see what was going on. It is impossible for them to have stolen the body.
Now you are getting desperate. Jesus was buried right before the Sabbath. The tomb was outside the city. The gates to the city were closed on the Sabbath. By the Law of Moses all Jews were to be in their place.
Moving the stone was not such a big deal as Christian Apologists would like to make it. Read about the raising of Lazarus. The stone was removed on Lazarus' tomb; no big deal. Joseph of Arimathea placed the stone on Jesus' tomb by himself; no big deal.
Jesus' death occurred during passover, as did his burial, and resurrection. We're not talking about the Sabbath, we're talking about Passover which would've brought hundreds of thousands of pilgrims that couldn't fit in the city walls, therefore they would've had to camp out in the hills. If someone were to try to remove Jesus' body someone would've known. But no one did.
You are relying on facts not in evidence. At Passover time the mean low temperature at night is about 43 degrees Farenheit. Too cold to sleep outdoors without tents and sleeping bags.
Who says they don't have tents and sleeping bags? Does "camped out" mean they just sleep outside with no clothes? Really man. If you're expecting the city to be full, you probably are prepared for anything.
They wouldn't have been camped out in a grave yard. Camping on a grave would have made them unclean. Not a good way to celebrate a holiday.Numbers 19:16 Also, anyone who in the open field touches one who has been slain with a sword or who has died naturally, or a human bone or a grave, shall be unclean for seven days....See.... unclean if you touch a grave for 7 days and miss the holiday.
Thanks for proving my point that Jesus couldn't have been stolen. I didn't say anything about camping out in a graveyard either. I said outside the city walls.
Were you ever a soldier? When a soldier completes an assigned task to whom does he report back? He reports back to his commanding officer. Matthew 28:11 Now while they were on their way, some of the guard came into the city and reported to the chief priests all that had happened.
If the guards were Romans they would have reported back to their officers, perhaps even to Pilate himself. But these Jewish guards reported back to their leaders, the chief priests.
You're absolutely right, UNLESS the guards went AWOL. See the potential wrath, and death penalty, that the guards could've been subject to would have scared them into running away. If you knew that the failure of your duty could lead to you being stripped of your clothes, and burned alive, you wouldn't fall asleep on your job, which means that the only thing that could've happened is Jesus being resurrected, and the guards going AWOL.
Do we really have 500 witnesses, that all saw Jesus at the same time? Or do we really have just Paul making an unsubstantiated claim that there were 500 anonymous witnesses who saw Jesus? Did any of these unknown witnesses write anything down claiming to be an eye-witness? NO!
Besides, after Jesus supposedly went up to Heaven, all of Jesus' followers were together in the upper room [Acts 1&2] and there were only about 120 persons. Paul's account is surely ficticious.
Lastly, the upper room was when the followers received the Holy Spirit, and not when they saw Jesus resurrected. Paul's testimony of the 500 witnesses would not be just a random number that he pulled out of a hat. Paul was very well educated, and would not have put that in there unless it was true.
You realize that Paul WASN'T in the upper room and saw Jesus? The men with Paul heard the voice but saw no man, so they were in fact witnesses of something happening, but Jesus was revealed only to him. After Jesus' resurrection, he revealed himself elsewhere besides the upper room. And he revealed himself to non-followers, Saul.
I never said Paul was in the upper room. He didn't get "involved' until much later. I wonder if you read my comments or if you read the Bible? You seem confused.
How could 500 brethren see Jesus if Jesus only had 120 followers?
Jesus never showed himself to anyone but his own followers. James was his brother and was hardly impartial. Paul never saw anything. He was blinded on the road to Damascus.
Acts 9, Saul wasn't blinded until he opened his eyes in verse 8. There are no other recorded incidents in the Bible of Jesus revealing himself to non-believers, however because he revealed himself to Saul, we can infer that there were most likely other cases of him revealing himself to non-believers. Thomas didn't believe until he saw Jesus, and put his hands into the wounds. John 20.
You said,,,,Saul wasn't blinded until he opened his eyes in verse 8.
But verse 3 says....As he was traveling, it happened that he was approaching Damascus, and suddenly a light from heaven flashed around . It was the bright light which blinded him.
You wrote... because he revealed himself to Saul, we can infer that there were most likely other cases of him revealing himself to non-believers. This is a giant step of inference. There is no evidence in the Bible.
In the NIV it doesn't say that it blinded him until after he opened his eyes. We would have to read the Greek to know what it truly says.
Second, in the book of Mark, Jesus tells Mary Magdelan that he is going ahead of the disciples to Galilee. His only motive would be to reveal himself to someone.
Matthew 28:16-17 But the eleven disciples proceeded to Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had designated. When they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some were doubtful.
Do you see that? Men who lived with Jesus were doubtful that they were seeing the real Jesus. Was someone passing off an imposter?
They were in astonishment. You're telling me that if you saw a family member who had died come to you that you wouldn't think it was a hoax? But as in Mark Jesus proved himself to be Jesus. In Matthew it is with his words. Proclaiming that all authority had been given to him (by God).
Um...when you first walk out to a bright sun, your first reaction is to squint, close your eyes, or cover your eyes. There is a bright light in front of Paul, so he closes his eyes.
Acts 26:13 at midday, O King, I saw on the way a light from heaven, brighter than the sun, shining all around me and those who were journeying with me. ,,,,,,,,and the light blinded him.
I don't understand where you're going with this. This is Paul's testimony of his calling before the king. Out of the KJV, Paul is not blinded until he opens his eyes. What translation are you reading out of?
And by the way Jesus had thousands of followers. Ever read how Jesus fed the 5000, and the 4000? So Jesus had way more than 120. There were only 120 or so in the upper room, but that doesn't mean that Jesus only had 120 followers.
they were all together means just that. That everyone that was supposed to be there were all together. It does NOT say that "all of Jesus' followers were together" it just says "they were all together." You are the desperate one here my friend.
Read Acts 1 and 2 again. They were all together, the 120, all Jesus' followers. They were all together so all of them woud receive the Holy Spirit. Isn't the point to receive the HS? That's why all 120 followers were all together.
I know what it says and why they were there. This was a fulfillment of a promise Jesus made to the disciples. For you to say that there were only 120 followers of Christ because there were only 120 in the upper room is preposterous. The Holy Spirit is a counselor, and the reason Jesus had them wait was because they needed to be filled with the Holy Spirit in order for them to fulfill the great commission. But NOWHERE in the Bible does it state that these are all of Jesus' followers and there's
Jesus had ordered all his followers to be together to wait for the Holy Spirit.
Acts 1:4 Gathering them together, He commanded them not to leave Jerusalem, but to wait for what the Father had promised, "Which," He said, "you heard of from Me;
Again is "them" referring to ALL his followers, or just 120? I will repeat, NOWHERE in the Bible does it state exactly how many followers Jesus had! If on one occasion he fed 5000 men, which we can estimate around 10-15 thousand people all together because of women and children, and on another 4000 men, 8-12 thousand counting women and children, how can you say that there were only 120? That makes no sense whatsoever.
There is no reason to believe that the men he fed became Jesus' followers. In fact there is no reason to believe that the feeding of the multitudes really happened.
Really? Do you know what those 5000 did BEFORE Jesus fed them? They raced to get to where Jesus was going before he even arrived on land. They were desperate to be with him. Read the Gospels for goodness sake, and you will see that not only were they followers after, but BEFORE!
Jesus feeds 5000 at Matthew 14. Later, at Matthew 15, Jesus again feeds a multitude of 4000. At Matthew 15:33, the Apostles say..""Where would we get so many loaves in this desolate place to satisfy such a large crowd?" This is a strange thing to say since they had already witnessed Jesus feeding 5000 with only a few fish etc If these incidents had really happened, they would have known how Jesus could feed people miraculously since they saw him do it in chapter 14.But the incidents are fiction
Pentecost when the Holy Spirit was given to ALL Jesus' followers, was one of those holidays when all men were supposed to attend the festival in Jerusalm. So all 120 of Jesus' followers were together in Jerusalem.
Where does it say that Jesus only had 120 followers? NOWHERE! This is getting ridiculous. You can't prove your point, you only take verses out of context to twist them to what you want to believe. Jesus had at least 18 THOUSAND followers! And if you read the New Testament you will read that the girl who was bleeding had to fight a CROWD just to touch the HEM of Jesus' garment. So that just adds to the total.
ACTUAL PROOF of the resurrection of Christ. All of the evidence he suggests can be disputed in some way shape or form. The only ACTUAL PROOF that the ressurrection occurred relies on the substance that is not rooted in anything tangeable or physical in this earthly reahlm. it's called "faith".
sound reasoning, solid foundation and substances, not blind faith, now ask you self,Jesus layed down he,s life in death ,which means some one resurrected him,if Jesus resurrected himself he,s death was invalid ,but he died for all.yes the man Jesus was dead for 3 days, who resurrected Gods son,the father, who is the only true God,but there are many gods, but only one true God,who has a personal name, the name of God is YHWH, JEHOVAH
Christianity is nothing new. It is just like other religions. It consists of a creation story, a virgin birth, heaven and hell.
People need to research for themselves instead of just accepting what a preacher tells them. Look at the similarities of Hinduism, Buddha, Islam, and Judaism. If the Jews are God's chosen people why don't they believe in Jesus. The pharoahs were declared Gods by writings of egyptians. the same way jesus was declared god by the writing of paul. what is the difference?
The new testament was written some 70 years after the death of jesus. all those stories were passed via word of mouth. nothing factual. To all you believers in Jesus out there, there is no resurrection of the dead. That is the premise of your belief. For the last 10,000 years man has been dying and for the next billions of years man will still be dying. That is the fact, now deal with it and stop spreading false hope to ignorant people and helpless children who cannot think for themselves.
Pepew911 maybe is like the Pharisees 2000 years ago who did not want to believe in Jesus even though they saw the miracles, even though they saw Lazarus raised from the dead, even though the body of Jesus could not be recovered and shown to the masses so that the masses would stop believing in the resurrection. There are some people who just will not believe no matter how much evidence you show them. But some day in the future they will meet Jesus face to face after they leave this earth.
sound reasoning, solid foundation and substances, not blind faith, now ask you self,Jesus layed down he,s life in death ,which means some one resurrected him,if Jesus resurrected himself he,s death was invalid ,but he died for all.yes the man Jesus was dead for 3 days, who resurrected Gods son,the father, who is the only true God,but there are many gods, but only one true God,who has a personal name, the name of God is YHWH, JEHOVAH
Hey a1mint. Look I'm not trying to insult you or anything alright? Just wanna be sure that you don't think of me as another Christian who talks back in a bad way. So I'd like to hear back from you. Later.
A spiritual resurrection won't. But God's not going to waste our body behind just like in Jesus's case. In a Christian's view, information and conscience would be also be in our souls. Actually, the conscience would come from the soul itself not brain. Now, souls don't decay or get destroyed. Therefore, it's not lost. Now about constructing a human. Yes, I agree that it would be hard, actually impossible to us. I'm arguing however, that to God it won't be. Hope this helps.
I'm sure that in order to be able to exist in some form after life as we know it, that it wouldn't be necessary to put together all the molecules and atoms at all. It's about the information and conscience we have had in our brains. Whether our actual awareness exists in our brains remains arguable. If you want to hope for something grander than life as we know it, then looking for things like having to reconstruct bodies from materials scattered on earth would be the most difficult method.
If God is so powerful then why would he be so interested in retrieving Jesus' body? If we all (the chosen ones) supposedly get adopted into heaven without any body retrieval, why would Jesus have to be retrieved? This whole Christianity thing seems so ridiculous.
Christianity actually believes in physical resurrection. Jesus was therefore showing us how we too would be resurrected. We can also say that he is the first to be resurrected to eternity.
So Christians would never get cremated then, otherwise you can't get "resurrected". Also, when they move a grave, and find that be body is still there, did that person not get resurrected?
What about a heavy duty plane crash where there are no bodies to be resurrected?
This whole Christianity thing seems so ridiculous.
Ok. Well, according to Physics we know that when a building collapse to very small pieces, it is still possible to build it up back correct? All the materials haven't really disappeared. So if God is all powerful, then I find no problem in believing that He will be able to reassemble one's lost parts. I'm just not sure how He will do it. Now, there's some disagreement on when the resurrection of the dead will happen but we (Christians) all agree that it still hasn't come. Makes sense?
I am absolutely firmly 100% convinced with every ounce of my being that things are not anywhere close to how you think it is. I can with confidence say that at least that part of Christianity is totally and utterly full of shit, without any remorse whatsoever.
What total ridiculous aspects there are to this Christianity belief. That people actually belief this is just flat out disappointing.
2.When a building is demolished/when we die, atoms that make up the structure is either scattered, transported etc. to diff. places. But they are still there.
3.Therefore, it is still possible if we have the technology, to rebuild the building back up and maybe a person. Now, I'm wondering. Why do you say that things are not anywhere close to how I think? We're still talking about your last question rigth?
there was a time that the world was united"religion", tehn a knowledge was revealed by Godand the peoplethought that they can be Gods, check out the pyrymadic civilizations, look through history similarities and contradictins, magic scince and race unities"religions"that originally came from oneunity but then had different names for charecters.
i think we should go back to the root of words and thier actual ancient meaning, religion is a word that derives from Latin that means Unity, God reveals in the Final Gospel, that religion"unity" ,is only Submission toGod Alone, the system of the out side world becomes phisical to the eye when you interact directly with the phisical world, if theyreally belived in jesus why did they put him on the cross?
All but one of the New Testament's writers were executed for proclaiming and defending Christ's resurrection (John alone was spared, but forced into exile by the Roman Emperor Titus Flavius Domitianius). This is truly compelling evidence of the resurrection.
@reflect7 why must we also believe in school and science that we came from ape like creatures and monkeys?.out of africa thoery is all lies i think.man was always man created by god.
If you want to know the absolute truth about what happened to Jesus after he was crucified?! He lived and went to India, remarried and lived to 100 years….

Why? Martyrdom in itself is not unique -- many throughout history have willingly died for their beliefs. What makes the disciples' martyrdom extraordinary to me is that these men were in a position to actually know whether or not what they were professing was true. You see, no one will knowingly suffer horribly and ultimately die a brutal death in order to defend something they know to be a lie.
@reflect7 how can we believe that evolution made everything..and all living things came from single cells.and all by random and chance.and life came from nothing rocks and dust from non living materials in space.and planets formed from nothing as well
In contrast, the New Testament's martyrs either saw what they claimed to see or they didn't; plain and simple. Either they interacted with the resurrected Jesus or they didn't. Dramatically, these men clung to their testimonies even to their brutal deaths at the hands of their persecutors, and this despite being given every chance to recant and knowing full well whether their testimony was true or false. They had nothing to gain for lying and obviously everything to lose.
Please visit the "Evididence for the Resurrection" link in the narrative above. The questions of the tomb, witnesses, writers of the NT scriptures, dating of those writings, etc. are all addressed in the related articles.
Show me the tomb. Name the witnesses. Name the writers of the Gospel accounts. Name one source that was written under 40 years after Jesus died. Why are the witnesses of Jesus more compelling than the witnesses of Odysseus? If none of this "evidence" can be provided, your case is sunk.
The 9-11 example was used in the context of martyrdom for a faith vs. martyrdom for an historical event. It's not tied to politics, "just war" theory, the war on terrorism, Bush, Iraq, etc. --
Unless you're arguing that religious jihadists weren't involved in 9-11 whatsoever... Is that what you're saying?
Your presentation is good and also the way you look and speak.
BUT you lower your credibility by using the 9/11 example as now it seems you are a person who will be ready to use examples or stories that ARE STILL UNPROVED (9/11) or are still questionable to prove or further you case.
Couldnt you have used some better examples to prove your case about the Resurrection of Jesus Christ?
well, it's possible, but Jesues is god and god has Jesues as a son, so? Chrstianity is confusing, but it's the right religion, or mabye no religion is the right one.

this vid is based upon the wrong assumption the Bible is truely Gods word.
It is not.
It has been manipulated in the First council of Nicea.
Christ was an ordinary but wise man who followed a force of nature called Atman/Spirit.

Firstly, the guard wasn't placed on the tomb until the next day. So Jesus' corpse was in an unguarded tomb the first night.
Matthew 27:62 Now on the next day, the day after the preparation, the chief priests and the Pharisees gathered together with Pilate.
The guards were the Jewish Temple guards that were used to maintain order in the Temple complex where no gentiles [Romans] were allowed.
Matthew 27:65 Pilate said to them, "You have a guard; go, make it as secure as you know how."

Ebal the Atheist
ebaltrace 2 years ago
Lastly, the upper room was when the followers received the Holy Spirit, and not when they saw Jesus resurrected. Paul's testimony of the 500 witnesses would not be just a random number that he pulled out of a hat. Paul was very well educated, and would not have put that in there unless it was true.
tkoch25 2 years ago
I see that you don't "get it".
If ALL of Jesus' followers were in the upper room, and there were only 120 persons, how could 500 have seen the newly resurrected Jesus?
Paul was guilty of felony murder in the death of Stephen and did not have any witnesses for his Damascus road "encounter" with Jesus.
Ebal the Atheist
ebaltrace 2 years ago
You realize that Paul WASN'T in the upper room and saw Jesus? The men with Paul heard the voice but saw no man, so they were in fact witnesses of something happening, but Jesus was revealed only to him. After Jesus' resurrection, he revealed himself elsewhere besides the upper room. And he revealed himself to non-followers, Saul.
tkoch25 2 years ago
I never said Paul was in the upper room. He didn't get "involved' until much later. I wonder if you read my comments or if you read the Bible? You seem confused.
How could 500 brethren see Jesus if Jesus only had 120 followers?
Ebal the Atheist
ebaltrace 2 years ago
Because Jesus showed himself to followers and non-followers alike.
tkoch25 2 years ago
Jesus never showed himself to anyone but his own followers. James was his brother and was hardly impartial. Paul never saw anything. He was blinded on the road to Damascus.
Disagree? Show me the chapter and verse.
Ebal the Atheist
ebaltrace 2 years ago
Acts 9, Saul wasn't blinded until he opened his eyes in verse 8. There are no other recorded incidents in the Bible of Jesus revealing himself to non-believers, however because he revealed himself to Saul, we can infer that there were most likely other cases of him revealing himself to non-believers. Thomas didn't believe until he saw Jesus, and put his hands into the wounds. John 20.

I'm not making anything up. If you can tell me that what I said is not in the Bible, be my guest. But you can't. Because it is right there!

Ebal the Atheist
ebaltrace 2 years ago
In the NIV it doesn't say that it blinded him until after he opened his eyes. We would have to read the Greek to know what it truly says.
Second, in the book of Mark, Jesus tells Mary Magdelan that he is going ahead of the disciples to Galilee. His only motive would be to reveal himself to someone.
tkoch25 2 years ago
Matthew 28:16-17 But the eleven disciples proceeded to Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had designated. When they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some were doubtful.
Do you see that? Men who lived with Jesus were doubtful that they were seeing the real Jesus. Was someone passing off an imposter?
Ebal the Atheist
ebaltrace 2 years ago
They were in astonishment. You're telling me that if you saw a family member who had died come to you that you wouldn't think it was a hoax? But as in Mark Jesus proved himself to be Jesus. In Matthew it is with his words. Proclaiming that all authority had been given to him (by God).
tkoch25 2 years ago
How could Paul [Saul] have known there was a bright light unless his eyes were open?
Ebal the Atheist
ebaltrace 2 years ago
Um...when you first walk out to a bright sun, your first reaction is to squint, close your eyes, or cover your eyes. There is a bright light in front of Paul, so he closes his eyes.
tkoch25 2 years ago
Acts 26:13 at midday, O King, I saw on the way a light from heaven, brighter than the sun, shining all around me and those who were journeying with me. ,,,,,,,,and the light blinded him.

ebaltrace 2 years ago
I don't understand where you're going with this. This is Paul's testimony of his calling before the king. Out of the KJV, Paul is not blinded until he opens his eyes. What translation are you reading out of?
tkoch25 2 years ago
I use the NAS.
The point is that Paul never saw Jesus and neither did the men with him.
Acts 22:9 And they that were with me saw indeed the light, and were afraid; but they heard not the voice of him that spake to me.
Ebal the Atheist
ebaltrace 2 years ago
And that means that Paul didn't see Jesus?
tkoch25 2 years ago
and again, Thomas didn't believe Jesus had risen until he touched Jesus' wounds. So Jesus revealed himself to a non-believer.
tkoch25 2 years ago
And by the way Jesus had thousands of followers. Ever read how Jesus fed the 5000, and the 4000? So Jesus had way more than 120. There were only 120 or so in the upper room, but that doesn't mean that Jesus only had 120 followers.
tkoch25 2 years ago
Acts 2:1 When the day of Pentecost had come, they were ALL together in one place. ......all 120...that's all there were.
Ebal the Atheist
ebaltrace 2 years ago
they were all together means just that. That everyone that was supposed to be there were all together. It does NOT say that "all of Jesus' followers were together" it just says "they were all together." You are the desperate one here my friend.
tkoch25 2 years ago
Read Acts 1 and 2 again. They were all together, the 120, all Jesus' followers. They were all together so all of them woud receive the Holy Spirit. Isn't the point to receive the HS? That's why all 120 followers were all together.
Ebal the Atheist
ebaltrace 2 years ago
I know what it says and why they were there. This was a fulfillment of a promise Jesus made to the disciples. For you to say that there were only 120 followers of Christ because there were only 120 in the upper room is preposterous. The Holy Spirit is a counselor, and the reason Jesus had them wait was because they needed to be filled with the Holy Spirit in order for them to fulfill the great commission. But NOWHERE in the Bible does it state that these are all of Jesus' followers and there's
tkoch25 2 years ago
Jesus had ordered all his followers to be together to wait for the Holy Spirit.
Acts 1:4 Gathering them together, He commanded them not to leave Jerusalem, but to wait for what the Father had promised, "Which," He said, "you heard of from Me;
There were only 120 persons.
Ebal the Atheist
ebaltrace 2 years ago
Again is "them" referring to ALL his followers, or just 120? I will repeat, NOWHERE in the Bible does it state exactly how many followers Jesus had! If on one occasion he fed 5000 men, which we can estimate around 10-15 thousand people all together because of women and children, and on another 4000 men, 8-12 thousand counting women and children, how can you say that there were only 120? That makes no sense whatsoever.
tkoch25 2 years ago
There is no reason to believe that the men he fed became Jesus' followers. In fact there is no reason to believe that the feeding of the multitudes really happened.
Ebal the Atheist Good night
ebaltrace 2 years ago
Really? Do you know what those 5000 did BEFORE Jesus fed them? They raced to get to where Jesus was going before he even arrived on land. They were desperate to be with him. Read the Gospels for goodness sake, and you will see that not only were they followers after, but BEFORE!
tkoch25 2 years ago
Jesus feeds 5000 at Matthew 14. Later, at Matthew 15, Jesus again feeds a multitude of 4000. At Matthew 15:33, the Apostles say..""Where would we get so many loaves in this desolate place to satisfy such a large crowd?" This is a strange thing to say since they had already witnessed Jesus feeding 5000 with only a few fish etc If these incidents had really happened, they would have known how Jesus could feed people miraculously since they saw him do it in chapter 14.But the incidents are fiction
ebaltrace 2 years ago
The question is not whether Jesus can feed the crowd, but where they can get bread. You are making things up, and taking the verse out of context.
tkoch25 2 years ago
Pentecost when the Holy Spirit was given to ALL Jesus' followers, was one of those holidays when all men were supposed to attend the festival in Jerusalm. So all 120 of Jesus' followers were together in Jerusalem.
Ebal the Atheist
ebaltrace 2 years ago
Where does it say that Jesus only had 120 followers? NOWHERE! This is getting ridiculous. You can't prove your point, you only take verses out of context to twist them to what you want to believe. Jesus had at least 18 THOUSAND followers! And if you read the New Testament you will read that the girl who was bleeding had to fight a CROWD just to touch the HEM of Jesus' garment. So that just adds to the total.
tkoch25 2 years ago
no more. These are just the 120 initial receivers of the Holy Spirit.

The pharoahs were declared Gods by writings of egyptians. the same way jesus was declared god by the writing of paul. what is the difference?
olh1152 3 years ago

SamSundalo01 3 years ago
A spiritual resurrection won't. But God's not going to waste our body behind just like in Jesus's case. In a Christian's view, information and conscience would be also be in our souls. Actually, the conscience would come from the soul itself not brain. Now, souls don't decay or get destroyed. Therefore, it's not lost. Now about constructing a human. Yes, I agree that it would be hard, actually impossible to us. I'm arguing however, that to God it won't be. Hope this helps.
SamSundalo01 3 years ago
I'm sure that in order to be able to exist in some form after life as we know it, that it wouldn't be necessary to put together all the molecules and atoms at all. It's about the information and conscience we have had in our brains. Whether our actual awareness exists in our brains remains arguable. If you want to hope for something grander than life as we know it, then looking for things like having to reconstruct bodies from materials scattered on earth would be the most difficult method.
a1mint 4 years ago
If God is so powerful then why would he be so interested in retrieving Jesus' body? If we all (the chosen ones) supposedly get adopted into heaven without any body retrieval, why would Jesus have to be retrieved? This whole Christianity thing seems so ridiculous.
a1mint 4 years ago
Christianity actually believes in physical resurrection. Jesus was therefore showing us how we too would be resurrected. We can also say that he is the first to be resurrected to eternity.
SamSundalo01 4 years ago
So Christians would never get cremated then, otherwise you can't get "resurrected". Also, when they move a grave, and find that be body is still there, did that person not get resurrected?
What about a heavy duty plane crash where there are no bodies to be resurrected?
This whole Christianity thing seems so ridiculous.
a1mint 4 years ago
SamSundalo01 4 years ago
I am absolutely firmly 100% convinced with every ounce of my being that things are not anywhere close to how you think it is. I can with confidence say that at least that part of Christianity is totally and utterly full of shit, without any remorse whatsoever.
What total ridiculous aspects there are to this Christianity belief. That people actually belief this is just flat out disappointing.
a1mint 4 years ago
Let me try to clarify my analogy.
1.Atoms make up the building like our body.
SamSundalo01 4 years ago

i think we should go back to the root of words and thier actual ancient meaning, religion is a word that derives from Latin that means Unity, God reveals in the Final Gospel, that religion"unity" ,is only Submission toGod Alone, the system of the out side world becomes phisical to the eye when you interact directly with the phisical world, if theyreally belived in jesus why did they put him on the cross?

Why? Martyrdom in itself is not unique -- many throughout history have willingly died for their beliefs. What makes the disciples' martyrdom extraordinary to me is that these men were in a position to actually know whether or not what they were professing was true. You see, no one will knowingly suffer horribly and ultimately die a brutal death in order to defend something they know to be a lie.
reflect7 4 years ago
true yet people still belive in Wicca and doubt and betray god, it's horrible, but no one man knows the truth.

@reflect7 how can we believe that evolution made everything..and all living things came from single cells.and all by random and chance.and life came from nothing rocks and dust from non living materials in space.and planets formed from nothing as well
5tonyvvvv 1 year ago
In contrast, the New Testament's martyrs either saw what they claimed to see or they didn't; plain and simple. Either they interacted with the resurrected Jesus or they didn't. Dramatically, these men clung to their testimonies even to their brutal deaths at the hands of their persecutors, and this despite being given every chance to recant and knowing full well whether their testimony was true or false. They had nothing to gain for lying and obviously everything to lose.

Hi Rehanmerchant --
The 9-11 example was used in the context of martyrdom for a faith vs. martyrdom for an historical event. It's not tied to politics, "just war" theory, the war on terrorism, Bush, Iraq, etc. --
Unless you're arguing that religious jihadists weren't involved in 9-11 whatsoever... Is that what you're saying?
randallniles 4 years ago
Your presentation is good and also the way you look and speak.
BUT you lower your credibility by using the 9/11 example as now it seems you are a person who will be ready to use examples or stories that ARE STILL UNPROVED (9/11) or are still questionable to prove or further you case.
Couldnt you have used some better examples to prove your case about the Resurrection of Jesus Christ?

In reality, what would happen if he were to say 911 was an inside job? wouldn't that lower his credibility even more?
