  • Thanx , I been told I have ADHA " which is ADHD " but my sister has ADD , unlike me she's real good at reading but need constant distraction or she'll snap I'm the opposite to much going on makes me space-out .

  • @mickhawk911 Yep, there is definitely a wide variations in how each person experiences "ADHD". This is why a customized approach is best.

  • thank you for understanding the differences. it gets anoying when people think im going to be hyper when i tell them i have ADD.

  • @alexmd94 More and more research is coming out showing that "ADD" people are quite different from people with ADHD-hyperactivity or ADHD-combined. Some researchers even think that "ADD" (ADHD inattentive type) should no longer be part of ADHD, but should be its "own" diagnostic due to its distinctive pattern and constellation of problems (and strengths!!)

  • @dryannickpauli what r some of the strengths

  • @shaqmo33 "ADHD" individuals are usually very creative people. As far as attention goes, it is not that they have a "deficit", but rather a difference. Some people with ADHD can hyperfocus for hours on specific task for example. Of all the children I see that present with inattention, we always find one activity where they can hyperfocus ... very often video games.
