Uhhh Khrushchev is the bastard who re-installed communist oppression in Hungary in 1956, something the people obviously didn't want - and who would? What would those people say about Khrushchev? However, to his credit, as far as asshole communist dictators go, he wasn't as bad as most of them. At least he denounced Stalin.
@arunvijaypalanivel Thank you for this. The reality is he didn't have a lot whole of power because he had to deal with the bureaucracy of the CPSU. I know they down played his anti-military speech as propaganda, but he did work very hard for it. I once read a paper his desire of de-militarization.
He was a courageous man whose address at the 20th Party Congress smashed the cult of personality and buried the Stalinist system for good. If both he and John Kennedy had remained in power, the world may have been a better place today.
