And here we have the reason why the Blaggers are awesome. Because Live4Britain and his mates are still crying about them. Hey L4B, were you at Waterloo? Did you wet yourself and run away, with the rest of the 'master race'?
Ahh the late 80's/early 90's, kicking fascists all over the streets, listening to the Blaggers and rioting every other weekend in london (well it seemed like it at the time anyway!). Sad to see those days gone.
And let's not forget that the court case got thrown out, which hardly fits the picture of Simpson as some kind of innocent in all this. He was drunkenly goading Matty all night and Matty reacted. Maybe he shouldn't have, but neither was it the unprovoked assault some would have you believe. Simpson's still dining out on this one. But he always leaves out the court case. Funny that.
And the music press always treats it as a joke when musicans attack each other. Are journos somehow special?
Gone but not forgotten. Bad Karma is one of my most played albums. Unforgettable live as well. Wish the Blaggers were still about. Could do with a no bullshit tuneful band like them.
very c***ish of Dave Simpson to be on the receiving end of a beating for suggesting they were thuggish wasn't it? They certainly proved that one wrong.
Simpson got a digging for repeatedly goading Matty by claiming he was a fascist (an illiterate tactic repeatedly used by moronic liberals to equate militant left-wing progressives with fascists) - whatever the rights and wrongs of it Simpson made sure his buddies in the music mafia blacklisted the Blaggers.
FUCK YEAH!! Most underated band ever. spent almost every other weekend watching them in my youth and if i ever see that c**t dave simpson he's a f***king dead man. RIP Matty
Powerful song; love this band. I'm guessing the guitar riff from 3:41 originates from "Shot By Both Sides" by Magazine?

@fishyfingersparty Either Magazine's 'Shot By Both Sides' or 'Lipstick' by The Buzzcocks. Not sure which of those songs came first.

One upon a time people wrote songs that actually meant something. Once upon a time people actually stood for something.
Well done to the Blaggers. RIP Matty.

er I think that was the point
as a side note: he was a political activist in the anti-nazi sphere
he would go out to demonstrations & at his concerts to physically assault nazis where ever he found them
if you go & find the lyrics to this song you will see its a protest song about the very situations that are in the video

I brought United Colours in 1993 here in New Zealand. Although Blaggers never made it down here, they are still the best band of the 90s. Cheers.

Y'know - it's just occurred to me that Blaggers were the best thing since The Clash.

What's "fundamantalism"? If you're going to smash it maybe you should learn to spell it first.
