What I admire most about Lovecraft is the fact that while he knew there was no god and no afterlife, he chose to face life with courage and dignity. I detect a common motif throughout Lovecraft's work;a motif in the form of a critique of societies trepidation upon discovering our malign universe - they simply seek refuge in religion. The man, so faced with adversities such as loneliness and a world in which he didn't fit, instead had enough balls to almost embrace it and accept it.
First, I'm sorry you're frustrated. As hard as it may be to believe, Wyrd has no control over the shipping of DVDs and making the release dates. That falls to our distributor who assures me they are doing all they can to correct these delays.
As frustrating as it is for you, imagine how it is for us. We've seen this release delayed multiple times and have been entirely powerless to affect any change on the matter.
I know the DVDs are coming. Wish we could speed up their arrival for you.
But is mainstream culture ready for such stripped-away reality? Comedy or light moments, even comraderie, is rare. Instead an overwhelming sense of paranoia and other-worldliness prevails.
My movie adaptation choice would be Call of Cthulhu, with wide open vistas and raging weather, a rugged, seasoned story. The Case of C D Ward is my second choice (protagonist creeping on his belly in the dark, around deep pits holding the undead).
"Mountains" also deserves comment: ultimate primality.
looks great!! will be checking this out.
