i guess, but wouldn't reaming it w/ the little retractable triangle reamer attached to the side pipe cutter square it off; or not?? so you use hacksaw blade to cut 1st & then file it off w/ a flat faced file?
Fire forming. The case has to be loaded and fired to take the shape of the chamber and force it into shape...I'll send you one on the 9.3x62mm that shows what the final stage does.
It should chamber but the bolt should feel a little stiff on closing. That way the case is supported from the shoulder to the head of the case. This will ensure good headspace and reduce the risk of losing a case due to splits.
i looking into a rifle other than mil surplus and was leaning towards a remington 700. what is your opinion and are there any rifles you would recommend instead of the 700?
why use a file or dremel when you could just use a copper pipe cutter??

Apipe cutter will leave a indentation onside the neck. The file makes the case mouth square.

The pipe cutter will not yield precision. The trim die is setup for precision.

Yes..it's machined for the OAL of the case.

i noticed that the shoulder was rounded slightly instead of a sharp corner. what do you do to fix that?

ok thats what i was thinking but i wasnt sure if it would chamber properly with a rounded shoulder.

Fire-Forming also blows out the false shoulder that sometimes pops up when resizing certain cases.
