Did the lights ever come back on? just wonderin' cos down here in Possum Pouch, West Virginia, we are still in the dark, in a club footed, not enough life guards in our gene pool kinda way. Ever since that there black out I gotta cuddle with my Uncle Cletus at night. It's ok though he gives me ice cream, but I don't like ice cream, it makes my bed sticky. bye for now .... Rebecka Rae Bob a Lou Bob a Boula Boola
That blackout was awesome. I saw the stars for the first time in Toronto, met my neighbours, ENJOYED my stoop, the outdoors and a bit of sclience. And bonged with my roommate. We should arrange a blackout every year.
I live in Ohio. Our power flickered for a moment, came back on, and stayed on...I live in Wayne County. About 5-10 miles to the north of us, no one had power. Just missed us. My mother in Detroit was without power for three days.
This blackout has highly preventable and unecesary. In fact why should some company's carelessness in Ohio have to affect Ontario. I thought we had borders?
Whoa, great job filming and adding that...well creepy music lol! I had fun during the blackout, but people in my little village were panicking, trying to buy everything from the stores and attempting to hoard all the gas! So I couldn't imagine being in Toronto!
one thing is forshere it was ent a black out it was a solar storm most of the world was effected and you dont know because the presidents did not want to scare us all canadas power all went off not most ALL!!!!
I loved the blackout, didn't have to go to work, just blazed the entire time, had a gas stove so we cooked up a storm, everyone was chilling in our hood:)Wish we had more of them, bun earth hour! like thats gonna do shit.
the blackout was fun. We just spent time with my parents talking through most of the night, with candles and flashlights. But I'll tell you one thing, I did NOT have fun paying for gas the next day!!!!
i remember that damn blackout,i love this vid cuz its like a toronto point of veiw type of thing,i just wish there was one for other canadian cities to....more like kitchener....anyway great vid
cool video. too bad i missed that black out, coincidentally, on august 12th i went to quebec city on vacation, and i was watching the news there, and in shock i saw that toronto had a major black out. in a way i was fortunate to have been elsewhere, but im sad i missed a one time moment in history...

Cool vid. For those that are asking, I'm pretty sure the song is from "The Virgin Suicides" soundtrack.

That was a very hot day in Toronto on August 14th, 2003. The EX didn't even open until a few days later than it should have on the 15th.

The silouette of the McDonald's sign against the dark sky just moves me like only Scarlett's return to 12 Oaks in Gone With the Wind can.
