this isn't the first time a HST has ran without a rear PC, it happened in the 80's I have records of the train somewhere but I need a good root through to find then info. interesting nevertheless
That is soo cool! Bit of information if your interested.. 43186+43181 were working this service from PAD-PNZ a coach had a serious problem so terminated at Reading. 43181 came off rear with buggered coach and stayed in DGL at Reading 43186 with 7 stock ran empty to Bristol. At night 43194 ran OOC-Reading and reered onto 43181+Coach and ran very very slowly to OOC!!! This very rare working is 5Z91. Great capture!
@intercityHST That was my first thought, it probably had a failure and if it wasn't near a MPD with a spare then the best thing to do is get it towed away by a freight loco, no point have it drag behind the train.

Separately, I thought the chap was a trainset 125. Apparently not when I see this movie. Such a train can be shortened.

I saw an Hst with an EWS class 37 on one end and a class 43 on the other end. This was on the ECML. Anyone know what this was about?
