With this design it is hard to increase BPS due to the excessive current draw from the mains and the heating of the components. The heating issue can be solved by using bigger heat sinks and fan. It seems that our circuit breaker averages the current in some way, so a overcurrent for one half-cycle is okay for a low break rate, but it will trigger when using a higher break rate. To solve this, you would need a power supply with some caps inside, but this would make the driver more complicated.
