  • Very Very much people cant use clicker ur one of this. clicker is not a toy its positive method to teach your dog tricks and etc... u dont need to use this when he learned his tricks u need use this for teaching new things to ur dog and never click 2 times in a row.

  • It is very easy to replace the clicker with your voice once the behaviors are taught. This dog is several years old now and has several titles. He hasn't seen a clicker in years. The clicker is quicker in the beginning simply because it is such a unique sound were as the human voice is something the pups do not understand and tend to ignore since we talk all the time. bla bla bla is all they hear.

  • so what happens if you dont have your clicker on you?? This bit im not sure of???.. Great vid, awesome pup.

  • aww he looks identical to gs pup skay, very well trained

  • a very intelligent puppy.

lol he looks like a kangaroo when he goes in "front"

  • very well bevaved GSD puppy

  • how do u make him speak ?

  • the gsd answer the question-"do you love me"- and that bark means 'no' or 'yes'?? :) but i think your gs really loves you...great gsd. :)

  • The "do you love me" is very cute! Nice training.

  • German shepherds learn so easily. you show them once, twice and they'll remember. In some cases, we felt sorry what a stupid tricks we've showed to our dog. She never forgotten them throughout her life - like jumping on top of our 4'tall mailbox and wait for mailman. Our mailman never got used to it...:-). Wonder why ??...

  • great vid, I'm doing similar myself and I'm just starting (amater) :D

@pnoyfelony, you have to use some of ur dogs drives to ur advantage, like the drive for food, read more on clicker training

  • hi there...great video..i've been watching your video over and over but i just can't seem to teach my dog some basic stuff like sit, stay and to come up to me while calling her name. Can you please give me some pointers. she's about 2-3month old now when she was given to me. I tried praising her when she almost did what i asked...any ideas or pointers. I'd appreciate it...thanks

  • how old should a german shepherd be when you first get him and also i there a good web i can go that will teach me alot of good stuff about them

  • Eight weeks is just about perfect. Try doggiedogblog dot com for questions and answers.

  • wow! wonderful training! just to sidetrack a little, my german shepherd at 5 months old is only 3/4 the size of yours. thats not natural, is it?

  • Depends on the bloodlines. Some lines are smaller than others.

  • wow good job, on traing him, if he's this good at 4months i'd love to see him in his adult years!

  • what is that clicker thing for?

  • Just another way of developing communication with your dog. The click is associated with treats. So, you can quickly tell the dog what you like about his behavior.

  • i need to buy a clicker may u tell me w her u bought yours

  • Most of the larger pets stores carry them these days. Or search sunshine clicker training and you will find lots of links. Karen Pryor made this type of training popular.

  • Woah it's like you used my dog to do this video! How old it yours? (mine = 3 months)

  • Gunter was four months in this video. He is now three years and has multiple titles and provides valuable assistance to his disabled owner. Additionally he is fully protection trained, and does a house search when she comes home late at night before she enters the house.

  • what do u mean protection trained..? did u train him like that or u put them on a training camp( if there is such thing lol..)

can u give me tips on how to train them.. and ahm.. do they shed there fur of a lot or no..? thank you.. ^_^

  • dude hes huge! soo cute.

  • yay yay yay ya!! im getting one very soon!!!!! i cant wait were gona be best friend!!

  • dick

  • No, my name is David.

  • i would love to have a GS, but the price here in Hawaii are ridiculous, $1500-$3000.

  • i heard to many clicks too click only once! if the dog does something good click thén give a treat! it really works other training methods just don't work as good as this! your mom should train and feed the dog and only her!

  • so you click only before you give the treat?

  • oo ok koool

  • I will post some protection work video of this dog when I get a chance. He is awesome and is also being trained as an assistance dog to help his momma.

  • do you click after it does the work and is it helpful because i really need to know

  • y do u click

  • It is just one of many methods of training. The click is associated with food or toys. The click means YES you did good and it helps a puppy learn new behaviors quickly.

  • Nice dog

  • u have a great dog i need to get me one of those clickers to train my dog and i also liked how u trained ur dog to roll over its pretty hard to teach that

  • you should only click once for one treat, over clicking can confuse the dog, or animal in clicker training. Other than a few too many clicks, the dog is beautiful and you're doing a good job!

  • I never saw more than one click per treat, but I did see many, many clicks with no treats. Once a behavior is established a VSR is called for instead of constant reinforcement. I agree she could scale back on the clicks, but considering the pups is only 16 weeks old she is doing well by him.

  • Hello, I love your dog and I want to get a GS. I have a couple of questions..I've read that it's bad to feed them when training ,because if there is a situation that you want them to obey, they will expect a treat and we are supposed to train them to please us.This is what I've read . I will like to hear your opinion on this. Another question..., Is the male GS more territorial than the female?

  • Male or female will not matter. Upbring and training will matter. Food is great to start, but your right. There is more to training a dog than giving treats. There is always a bigger treat and the dog has to learn to avoid temptation and work regardless of treats and temptations.

  • ilove. There is a very slim chance of the dog switching his bond, but if you want to try this is how to go about it. Do not let anyone else handle or feed him. Have your mother feed him, but only by hand. Never from the bowl. She should start training with him immediately with a good balanced trainer that can help her learn to communicate and motivate him. Do it now and you have a chance. Wait for long and forget about it.

  • my family just got a GSD today. unfortunately it bonded with me, instead of my mother. she is heartbroken because she really wanted this dog. the dog is focussed on my, obeys me, and stands beside me all the time. how can we switch his bond so that he bonds to my mother instead?

  • What a smart puppy! Eye contact is great. And he's a beautiful dog! Congrats. =]

  • I like this video a lot more. ;) Clickers = <3 Beautiful dog too. :D

  • Thanks PP. This dog now is two years old. CD,CDX, BH, SchH A and training for UD. The clicker foundation was great, but some good old fashion disapline also came into play along the way. He is a happy, well adjusted MOMMA'S boy that lives in the home with another intack male GSD. Imagine that? Balanced training is simply the only way to fly isn't it?

  • How old was he when this was taken?

  • 16 weeks
