when was this? i really hope they release a raw and smackdown boxset and saturdaynight main event boxsets. not just the best i want the whole episodes. anyone know where i can find every raw smackdown and saturdaynight main events at wld love to have all this on dvd.
@Panorama1981 oh, yeah, I never got to see that match. but i thought it was funny putting an actor in the wrestling ring to face Hogan. I knew Zeus wasn't a professional wrestler, and it was obvious to me when I saw the movie trailer ad in the commercials. I was young kid, but knew that Zeus was out of place, and definitely couldn't be taken seriously as a wrestler. I loved powers of pain, but hated them always losing. glad to see people still talking about wwf. I hate the wwe.
@Panorama1981 Yeah I think Hogan's team would beat Warrior's team, if for no other reason than Jake Roberts is better than "The Texas Tornado," may he rest in peace.
How is it the old steroids/drugs kept these dudes runnin hulk size for a long ass time? But all the new crap people are throwing in their bodies have them dropping like flies?
@Spideredge probaly because the old dudes was really tough and actually was that size despite the steroids. The steroids only gave them a physique but their true weight and arm size was there.
@DefLeppardVanHalen Warrior will outlast them all lmfao. Despite playing a crazy warrior character in reality he was the sanest most stable wrestler of all. :D
this was an awesome team! so cool cuz warrior and sting were modeled after LOD when they 1st started as a tag team together. i wish sting and the warrior would've stayed a team!
Von Erich was originally going be the big star that Hogan ended beeing.... dont know why Vince changed his mind nor why didnt kerry het a good posicion at wwf..... i watch very few matches of him but i trully think he was great.... too bad he followed the family tradition....
@thechainzter Changed his mind because Von Erich was already past his prime at this point, wrestling on a fake foot and taking massive amounts of painkillers and drugs.
@cubbyblues Sorry but Kerry was never past his prime, still wrestled great, wrestled on a fake foot even in the beginning same as early in his career and later in his career. McMahon ended his last few days jobbing I'm sure due to Von Erich screwing up with the painkillers and McMahon's lack of interest. If he never passed away & cleaned himself up, I'm sure he would have resurfaced in WCW & then maybe a return to the WWE being the still great wrestler he was known to be wherever he went.
@elgrano Kerry was a wreck by the time he made it to WWF. That's a sad fact. He was great. Too bad his daddy encouraged him to come back to the ring too soon, which necessitated the amputation.
@cubbyblues He was very much a wreck by the time he come to WWF. But I cannot say the same for when he was in ring as he still looked fantastic. He hid his personal demons very well from the public.
Not really. I think it had more to do with the Ultimate Warrior being the team captain. The year before, he captained "The Ultimate Warriors" that included The Rockers and Jim Neidhart.
I think the "The Warriors" name is basically/appropriately referenced from the wrestlers past work. We have of course, "The Ultimate Warrior," "The Road Warriors" (Legion of Doom), and Kerry Von Erich (Texas Tornado) who was called "The Modern Day Warrior" in other promotions.
They made Kerry Von Erich stand in the back because his physique was far superior to the Ultimate Psycho Warrior. It was all about the Warrior. Vince pushed the wrong guy.
Ultimate Warrior, The Road Warriors, And The Modern Day Warrior...
Irony?
But seriously, that was one hell of a combination. The greatest tag team ever, one of the greatest and underrated stars of his time (Von Erich..and the rest of the family too for that matter) and a guy who had the greatest 3 year run of all time.
I really agree and that wouldve been cool. but the road warriors were never really good or bad. yet niether was UW...i think it wouldve worked! the idea is a little ahead of its time though....
That's not all: piledriver, elbow drop, belly to belly suplex, vertical suplex, body slam, power slam, splash, kidney splash, sidewalk slam, double axe handle off the top rope, chop from top rope, clothesline, avalanche clothesline. He even superplexed Orlando Jordan. His moveset wasn't as consistent as they were while he was in the UWF and WCCW but he did move than just a few.
then tony u would be wrong kerry shot himself in the chest also hawk never needed roids he died of a heart attack from years of drug use but just like eddie when he died he was 100 cleanthe drugs he use would be like weed and stuff like that but never roids
Eddie was receiving steroids from Signature Pharmacy in the months leading up to his death. He wasn't using street drugs anymore but he was extremely far from "clean".
