The Bloom Bax will work in a Tesla. I think a 'small' Bloom box will work N a all electric car!! The car would get 4 times the mileage then the batteries currently used. If they can get the Bloom Box down 2 lets say $5-800.00 4a car,, it would help the us all. As well as lower the price of The Tesla. I also feel The Bloom Box can work in harmony with your solar technology. Super Cool Stuff!! I know you can make it happen Elon,, So check it out!! Citizen Angel l l : l l

This is not an inerview, instead a public relations stunt, rift with incredible statements, and outright lies and false claims, thankfully, not everything you read or hear on the internet is false.
But most things Musk are P R Stunts designed to bilk the unsuspecting investor out of his money
Hating no one, I simply relate what is listed on the internet about his conduct, which difffers from his statements and what he paid wilipedia to printup about him.
PR Stunts are not an original method of swindling, and the world is a trusting place, unfortunately there are people who actually believe deceit is a way to make their way through life.
I prefer facts to oneliners, which leave out the elements of truth, hey ! look it up yourself. You have access to the same data I do
The reality behind musks deceit, used to get money, since he spends more than is received, from the companies he disposed of the original developers, while laying claim to their designs, is far longer than you tube permits in their oneliner view of reality, but if your really interested, the truth is on the internet, it just takes an objective search.
@lassiecox I scoff at the phrase "the truth is on the internet" I find the internet to be a highly unregulated source of information and a great source of misniformation. That being said, i will try to find credible sources about this man's practices, but I think we should be just as weary of people who have a vested interest in bringing down the man as we do in Musk himself. Apparently Zucerkberg and another one of those young billionaires have invested in his company. so they say.
@wadadlibabe not to mention the people of Downey, CA, where he was supposed to build the Tesla Model S factory. The guy's stepped on a lot of toes to get where he is right now. Sure, a lot of people will spit on his grave, but he's pushing for making zero-emission cars the standard, a noteworthy capitalist _and_ eco-friendly cause. Let's hope he starts cranking out those luxury sedans, and start on the bargain basement models. We deserve to be freed from oil.
@wadadlibabe you mean zuckerberg, where when you open an account he sells your personal information to all manner of swindelers, and strange emails arrive in your inbox, . Zuckerberg calls his clients a bunch of " Dumb Fucks ". They belong together along with their brotherhood, the world is rapidly becoming aware of, which lord barry is attempting to limit the internet, and target the people who the world class mafia put on a list of informers, telling it like it is.
@wadadlibabe Do you mean " dumb Fuck " zuckerberg, thats what he calls anyone foolish enough to subscribe to facebook. because he sells everyones personal information, that you get to experience by all the new mail in your inbox, without the unsubscribe link. You don't actually believe he designed the system, did the math platform, or wrote code ? just hired agressive lawyers facebook sucks
@lassiecox you're just A LoSER and Jealous of him. Elon is a real entrepreneur. His made his fortune thanx to his intelligence and vision. and who are you? how many billions, millions of dollars or businesses you've created so far?? All you and other jealous losers can do is hate and criticize him.
he did not create Tesla, Car production is suspended for one year. The low earth oxygen kerosene rocket is dated russian technology, tossed because its only good for lowearth orbit and missile technology, a stepping stone to get money from the idiot lawyers, fooled by elon the idiot, hostile takeover artist, picking real designers unskilled in unethical legal manuevers.
Billionaire, was broke before barry bailed him out, The mark of a bankruptcy expert is one who spends more money than he makes, They remainas long as people keep shoving money at them----------Canada, the country before he came to america, had 2 such companies. He invested in ebherhardts company, then pulled a hostile take over, claiming the design for himself.
Claiming the design of liquid oxygen kerosene rocketry means he is a lot older than he looks, since the first design, russian 1915.
education comes from interest, to discover the reality behind musk, google the lawsuits involved in; pay pal, tesla motors, zip 2, spacex, the origin of liquid oxygen kerosene rockets, the chronological history of rockets, invesyigate the hostile takeovers, the original founders. You can read about a philanthropist on wikipedia, or the broke musk, when he moved his girlfriend into his hme with his spouse and children, the many many tesla showrooms, but where are the shots of the factory ? etc
elon musk is a huge asshole in real life. for the people watching vids of him and thinking that hes a great guy, hes not like that off camera at all. he is the epitome of a prick.
@mets558 I was going to mention that but figure people will just ignore that. I don't doubt his great brain and capabilities but he's not a "good" or "nice" person. He's got some not so noble ways about him as evidenced by his behaviour to his now ex-wife and others close to him. I mean, he's not evil or anything but his ego is definitely wha t you would expect it to be.
@wadadlibabe Great Brain ? He is a criminal minded idiot, a puppet front man. Paper philanthropist, spends more money hhan he makes. Anyone can hire crooked lawyers for hostile takeovers, and do the PR Stunr routine of the bankruptcy artist. He created, discovered norhing.
@lassiecox You seem to really dislike him. I imagine that as soon as you hit that kind of success a lot of people will try to hit you up for money (lawsuits). I find it hard to believe that he would reach billionaire status without anyone pointing out the same innaccuracies you have here. He must have friends in high (or low) places then.
@spacex Tesla made earthquakes in 1899 bitches. Tesla died in Hotel New Yorker Room No. 3327 - 3328 because Yakutat Bay Epicenter Time in 1899 on September 3rd was 3h 3m 27s - 3h 3m 28s on the first man made major earthquake. That is why he was "overly obsessed" with the number 3 and could only hint that he was behind the Scottis Rite 33rd degree. Earthquake British Association No. 333 on Sept. 3 at 3:03 p.,m. epicenter time 1899.
@lassiecox lol, its 2010 and the Roadster made like he said it and is still on the roads+ the tesla roadster has no true competition right now. so whatever crock you think he is spewing maybe you should enlighten us with some facts?
how can a billionaire be broke, this PR stunt is an example of just how far a criminal bankruptcy can go with expensive vidoes of simple lies on the internet. He is from south america, by way of montreal and toronto, he had best leave and get his swiss citizenship quick otherwise his customers having paid 60 thousand up fromt, will soon descend on him and eat him alive, if he is here.
@lassiecox Mystery solved no bullshit. Tesla knew how to make earthquakes in 1898 according to Tesla. In 1899 he went to Colorado Springs to Stage a Ritual Earthquake for the E.H. Harriman Expedition. Earthquake British Association No. 333 on September 3 at epicenter time 3:03 p.m. It is the Scottish Rite Secret of the 33rd degree. He shattered John Muir's Glacier. It was three times three times three = 27 days. (ROOM #3327 TESLA SPENT LAST TEN YEARS AND DIED)
@promopass Words are cheap, like all musks deals, watch him with history of hostile takeovers, designing nothing himself, is the mark of a bankruptcy artist, who, along the way hides the money, and in the end, runs.
@lassiecox Fortune, I could become a philanthropist on wikipedia, for a few hundred dollars more, they print anything, the news follow along without valid premise. This guys a crook
bankruptct experts have a profile of hostile takeovers, investing in a flegling company and disposing of the; founders, designers, original investors, laying claim to their hard work, They will continue to attrack captal until the flow of cash into the rabbit hole drys up, and then they dissappear into international citizenship, with their illgotten gains, and front another, or join the gang that puppeted him. Toronto, ottawa, montreal is like a training program for these guys
wired science is an appropriate name for musk. I saw a 72 toyota that would leave the tesla in its dust. Its overpriced, obsolete. The same as his current connection to the US Treasury via the under the table clintonian crowd. Cassini has just left the solar magnetosphere. Space X rocket can get people like the apolo anywhere, but bring them back is his problem. The serious competition of musk is actual science
Google power meter was invented to regulate the consumption of power potentially provided to the public for sale by Google Energy, LLC using 111 year old Tesla technology. This venture between Elon Musk and Google was commemorated by the Triforce Easter egg symbols in 2009. Many of these triangle symbols were incorporated into the Google Doodles that lead up to the 09/09/09 9:09:09 Google Doodle and were subsequently removed from record in The Great Google Doodle Conspiracy.
Something obviously went wrong in September 2009. Did they cause Sumatra? Did Zelda fan Susie Sahim take the fall because George Hwang was instructed by Larry Page and Sergey Brin to include the symbolic Triforce symbols? Ask The Three Musketeers of Tesla Motors. Oh wait... they died in Palo Alto and their bodies were burned beyond recognition while the city was in chaos soon after that.
recreating appolo space program, seems like going back into the past 30 or 40 years, And capitalizing on the loss of the worlds scientists leading the world in space technology, the new generation of shuttle and the manned return to mars. What is this guy on ? Its clear he's on the same page as the clintonian/obama politica, a group fueled by lust greed and corruption. Its all about the money
It has to do with the head of Tesla Motors Elon Musk getting a half billion dollar D.O.E. loan during a recession for kit cars on laptop batteries because he knows that Nikola Tesla caused the September 1899 Cape Yakataga and Yakutat Bay earthquakes from his Colorado Springs lab on...
September 3, 1899
September 6, 1899
September 9, 1899
"If you only knew the magnificence of the three, the six and the nine... then you would have a key to the universe."
Yakutat Bay, Alaska, USA (1899,September 3 and 10)
The largest vertical surface displacement caused by a single event occurred in this uninhabited region. The second of two earthquakes thrust underwater rocks 47 feet 4 inches (14 meters) above the sea. The Yakutat Glacier, which had been sliding downhill for almost 50 years, suddenly went in the opposite direction. The Hubbard Glacier broke and sent huge ice chunks into the bay. 150 miles away, the Muir Glacier shattered and began to retreat.
Here we see the same minions of the (now exposed) Obama lier Gov trying to de-rail the real issue..and that is it's prommis of setting up a new car industry in America with clean new proven technology.
But instead: all of your TAX paid money went to GM who SHIP YOUR USA JOBS TO BRAZIL AND TO EASTERN EUROPE.
But please...continue your attacks on Elon Musk. He must be a terrorist.
It's official. I live in a TOTAL F*CKED UP Country where IDIOTS run the asylum.
this guy is a complete moron when it comes to tesla motors and electric cars IMO. That tesla roaster is a joke, i've studdied it and seen the prototypes. The Fisker lawsuit was also retarded.
This is what a mad genius looks like. As a venture capitalist, Musk is the kind of guy who knows how to make obscene amounts of money by fundamentally changing the world. The Tesla is the car that will be remembered for making the Electric car attractive, and SpaceX will be remembered for getting to full orbit with a private company.
Musk is an expert at having his interviews that he dislikes eliminated from the web. I keep searching for known interviews, but I get nothing but dead links, and this self serving tripe.

Boy, entrepreneurs do bore me to death. In a way, they're so superficial. They're like children, they need to do things all the time. But, you know, ACTION is the great fetish of America. The dream from which we will never awake. Anyway, the thing that I detest most is this fake, proactive attitude and the cheap, disgusting rethoric that pervades it all.
@Kias: building and selling Pay Pal, starting a car company and space program. Yeah, he's soooo superficial ;)
He IS a 'boy entrepreneur', and given his accomplishments you have to admit he should should come across as a much bigger pompous douche bag than he does.
If anyone is guilty of maybe a little rhetoric...."But, you know, ACTION is the great fetish of America. The dream from which we will never awake."
Musk is actually a South African, his mom was from Canada. In reality Musk would be more inclined to consider himself a global citizen than an American. The concept of actively building towards world changing actions is not childish, it is those actions that have build the greatest marvels and the most common items we take for granted. Don't be so cynical.
@everyone: the Volt is a bridge vehicle, Jabberwolf explained in detail its beni's. If your core biz is ICE a hybrid makes sense until battery swaps, plug stations and battery tech is ready for our huge transport demands.
@Jabberwolf; you won't advance the conversation w/ condescension.
The Volt isn't a piece of shit; Bob Lutz is the POS for saying global warming is a Croc, when the early adopters of the Volt would buy it to combat GW. How can you invest in the future with that leadership?
this is far better then GM guys thinking about whta they should do to contribute t the auto industry..this is thinking out of the box..and the correct sollution..
If Elon goes one step forward with solar..then he can combine solar to electricity..and wao!! u got the perfect combination for future..renewable energy and sports car..to drive u crazy!!
You mean like the new volt that uses an expensive solar panel on the roof - on a hot day, to activate a vent ( a fan) to blow more hot air into the car?
Sorry I'm still laughing every time I see that on TV!!
Cars gets hotter than the outside temperatures due to no movement of air in the cabin, it will make the cabin the same ambient temperature, which when out of the the direct sunlight is apparently lower.
You're the retard. Have you create a company and sold it for over a billion? Or have you created 2 other companies both with exceptional and impressive accomplishments? Has your company been awarded a contract from NASA? No... therefore YOU are the retard.
Hmm that logic is about the same as BILLIONS invested in Amtrak and the next 8 billion dollars to be thrown away with people saying " oh this is a great idea"
Retards and their money are soon parted. Maybe you are right. Maybe he just is taking advantage of retards and hes the smart one.
If this is the argument you use to support Elon then people like you also support Maddof and the ton of misinformation he spewed as well.
@Jabb. Am I missing something here. Is Elon spreading misinformation?
He always does an excellent job of explaining who buys emerging technologies, why it is expensive in the early going and how the costs will eventually come down.
How is someone who has the money to spend and understands that they are helping fund the R&D to move us away from oil being a "retard".
All ur doing is barking econ 101 and not acknowledging that this is how real change happens.
@SamoanWarrior02 The actual history of zip 2 and pay pal reveals another truth. as does tesla, and spacex. interesting banktuptcy experts, always needing cash, broke, paper philanthropists
that would mean you'd have to carry around another 100 pound battery fully charged in the back!
Thats why the volt just works, because it uses the existing infrastructure of gasoline while still using the battery for the most common of driving: your daily commute.
Charging batteries takes a long time, and when you are out, that's it.
The most likely time you will charge is when you go home, plug in, and go to sleep.
Have you heard of Better Place? They are going to build battery swap stations. They are also going to build charge points. Also they are going to start a battery leasing type program.
The Model S takes 45 minutes to recharge. It has a 2 minute battery swap system. 300 mile range. Once Tesla Motors adopts the Better Place battery lease program, Tesla Motors can price the Model S at 30 to 35k.
I told you unless you lug ANOTHER 100lb battery in the back. Nissan has theirs coming out as well with same limitation... your tied to 100 miles. And battery charging is STILL a lengthy process.
Look up what infrastructure means because I dont think your vocab is up to this technology.
Volt has BOTH batter and gas engine to charge battery, so you're not tied down. Tesla has a nicer shell - big whoop!
Have you looked up Better Place? They are going to build up charging points and battery swap stations all over California. The Model S has 300 mile range. The volt has 40 miles.
45 minutes is not a long time. 2 minute battery swap is not a long time. A 30 minute recharge time is not a long time.
Also, what makes you think that gm will actually sell the volt? Based on their shady history, anyone can tell you that the volt will cost 40k and only be leased.
So you can drive 300 miles and be stuck at your location... Guuurreeat then what? Chances are there will NOT be a charging point. 40 miles was calculated to be optimal distance most commute a day. Thus less weight, less waste of energy.
Only be leased but still sold for 40K?
Again where the hell do you get your info, as little of it is true.
Range is 300 miles, though there will be different battery options, with less expensive ones giving you a range of 160 or 230 miles. Charging time is 4 hours with a 200-volt power outlet, but a quickcharge can be done in 45 minutes and the Model S was designed so that the battery could be swapped in 5 minutes.
BASE 49K not 40K!
Probably the smallest battery and smallest range. The full charge is 4 HOURS with a 200-volt power outlet.
45 min- "quick charge" = only with adequate stations!
@ Jabberworlf: All it takes is setting up an automated ATM-machine-styled Plug-in charging units at every functional gas station across america... hardly takes any major capital investment or efforts... just like setting up vending machines... these charging units will have the quick charge system and the system itself can be improved to charge ur car in like 15 minutes... I usually spend about 15 minutes at gas stations anyways when I am on road trips with my car (restroom, buying, stretching).
And you can increase speeds, but less mileage, by increasing Amperage (energy) to the to the drive turbine.
People have done this with a pinto and some lithium batteries to create drag strip cars. But its still not efficient or practical for daily driving or long commutes.

"If you only knew the magnificence of the three, the six and the nine... then you would have a key to the universe."
@emforty2 he copied the two companies from canada, and could not design anything functional so he bought into an existing one, and took it criminally in a hostile takeover. He has created nothing, and a con artist.
@lassiecox interesting tell me more about that i want to know if what you say about musk is true...... please give details or somewhere where i can read more about that
Tesla Model S looks awesome and pretty affordable for middle class w/ the right budgeting/financing but hopefully the gov will give out more incentives- like a rebate or something, but this car that can seat 7 people and go 300 miles/charge w/ 45 min charge time and top speed of 120 mph is the solution to many of our pollution and global warming problems- ofcourse we still need alternative electricity production- more nuclear and solar & wind farms would meet those needs
People always forget that the Model S has a swap battery system. Check out Better Place. The Model could be cheaper, if they separate the cost of the battery from the car.
Anyone who knows how I can reach Elon Musk personally or to get hold of his e-mail address? Mr. Musk, if you are reading this. I have something that will undoubtedely interest you. Save Fuel. Save Space. Save the Environment.
I agree with Lagwagon555. This would be one of the people I respect the most in the commercial world. His companies and ideas stem from a personal desire to advance the world (esp with clean energy and space exploration) and he's made a fortune along the way! Top bloke aye.
His recent rocket did not make orbit. So far his three attempts to get into orbit have failed. The recent rocket had 3 satellites on board. He should stick to developing Tesla motors for mass market instead of trying to tackle 2 huge things at once. Biting off more then you can chew will cause you to choke.
cripes! ever heard of edison!? only a keyboard jockey armchair quarterback could have such a perfectionist attitude. keep hold of your "vision"quest2012. you gotta get your hands dirty and fail enthusiastically to make things happen and be ultimately successful!
I love this guy man, I wish he would come speak at our college. You get to leave the ferrari guy in the dust" - Tesla = 60 mph in 4seconds, and all-electric, and he is already a billionaire ?!?! MAn this guy has nothing but benefit coming to him ! I love it

Risks to life and limb have always been said about flying, submarines, crossing oceans, hopping Islands, see what lies beyond the next mountain... People have and will die. But we need those people to push the edge. They'll come up with solutions to mitigate risks. It forces solutions to new problems. Robotics and many areas of science will advance because of activities in space. Space-based industry grew 18% in 2006, there's a boom right now and Elon is smart to do what he's doing.

Sending people to planets is useless. Absolutely useless in the name of science. Deep space is no place for humans - design machines/satellites instead. It's much more cost effective and less dangerous per unit of knowledge obtained. Send humans only to service in earth orbit, not to explore. We went to the moon and spent billions of dollars; been there done that.
Human space exploration is merely a novelty/testosterone driven impetus.
I agree with a lot of your thinking. We should use machines, a lot. But space will eventually be tapped for its resources and be settled to an extent. And here's why people have to go: machines cannot adapt to their environment like people (for now). This adaptation is the turbo-charged form of innovation. Your type of viewpoint has been common throughout history, and while valid in the short term, does not take into account the long term benefits of exploration.
Space has no resources for humans. It's a desolate, radiation-filled wasteland. I don't know what you mean here:
"machines cannot adapt to their environment like people (for now)"
If you mean evolution, it takes millions of years for humans to evolve, but you can always build a new robot to satisfy new environments within years.
We do have 50 of these guys... Richard Branson, Burt Rutan, Jeff Bezos, Paul Allen, Micheal Carmack, Peter Diamandis, and many other talented people driving to push technology forward. A small group of people has always driven change in history. It's great for everyone to learn about these things and that they are very possible and are happening now.
Did you catch that statement? "In 1969 we were able to go to the moon, now we can only get to lower orbit". That is a very powerful statement, Nassa would never make that statement but now that a civillian is in the space business they can't control what is said.
If you study footage that shows the moon landing was fake then you will find the satement adds further evidence that it was faked because just how is it that we can only reach lower orbit in 2007 when we supposedly had the tecnology to make it to the moon in 1969. That's like going back to 8 track tape players and saying we no longer have the technology to make DVD's
First off, its called branding. He's looking for support for his SpaceX brand, so he says things like that about NASA to make his company look better. The hope being that he will get support from other companies and the general populace. Every company does it when they have a big competitor...just look at the I'm a Mac I'm a PC ads by Apple. Even though both companies do work with each other in many cases (Microsoft Office for Mac!), they still try to demean each other in advertising.
No, it's true what Elon said about Nasa. It's not a mistake at all. We do not have a rocket that is capable of getting people to the moon presently, that's why they are developing the Ares. The shuttle is confined to low earth orbit (LEO). 100% true, look it up. NASA had considered their mandate elsewhere until Bush instituted the VSE to get people back to the moon. It may be "branding" but it's also true and highlights the need for a private company like SpaceX.
Oh, i agree with that. I just disagree with FreeGlobalEnergy saying that because we cant do it now we obviously couldn't have done it back in the 60s.
Oh, for sure we went back in the 60s. I hate moon conspiracy theorists. We went then, we will go again. Private industry (and people like Elon Musk) will help us become a space fairing species.
Secondly, I'm not sure Elon Musk counts as "The Government".
Thirdly, it could all just be a simple mistake that he said it. I'm pretty sure someone being interviewied for national TV would be at least a little nervous...which means it would be more likely for them to say stuff accidentally.
@FreeGlobalEnergy It's as much about technology as it is about resources and political support. We had the political support in the '60s and '70s which provided the resources necessary to develop a moon vehicle.
A growing number of cynical people like yourself have taken away the political support needed to provide the resources necessary to go to the moon in this day and age.
You also underestimate how advanced we were back in the '60's. Have you ever heard of lost art forms?

@wadadlibabe not to mention the people of Downey, CA, where he was supposed to build the Tesla Model S factory. The guy's stepped on a lot of toes to get where he is right now. Sure, a lot of people will spit on his grave, but he's pushing for making zero-emission cars the standard, a noteworthy capitalist _and_ eco-friendly cause. Let's hope he starts cranking out those luxury sedans, and start on the bargain basement models. We deserve to be freed from oil.

He has a limited range and a huge cost that will not go down in price.
Versus Chevy Volt with 40mile electrical and 400-500 mile gas range extender thus no new infrastructure needed in the USA.
Yeah what a retard from silicon valley doesnt realize is utility. its pretty but pretty useless!
jabberwolf 2 years ago
You're the retard. Have you create a company and sold it for over a billion? Or have you created 2 other companies both with exceptional and impressive accomplishments? Has your company been awarded a contract from NASA? No... therefore YOU are the retard.
SamoanWarrior02 2 years ago 7

The chevy volt relies on a crumbling infrastructure of foreign oil. With a volatile price and pollution.
Tesla Motors are building cars that rely on an American Renewable Energy Infrastructure.
You Anti-American foreign-oil-loving dush.
ratryu 2 years ago
its based on a lithium battery... long distance is where its an option for oil.
Do you even know what youre talking about?
I just wish they were using A123 batteries.
jabberwolf 2 years ago
The volt should have used the swap battery system for long distance travel.
ratryu 2 years ago
that would mean you'd have to carry around another 100 pound battery fully charged in the back!
Thats why the volt just works, because it uses the existing infrastructure of gasoline while still using the battery for the most common of driving: your daily commute.
Charging batteries takes a long time, and when you are out, that's it.
The most likely time you will charge is when you go home, plug in, and go to sleep.
jabberwolf 2 years ago
Have you heard of Better Place? They are going to build battery swap stations. They are also going to build charge points. Also they are going to start a battery leasing type program.
The Model S takes 45 minutes to recharge. It has a 2 minute battery swap system. 300 mile range. Once Tesla Motors adopts the Better Place battery lease program, Tesla Motors can price the Model S at 30 to 35k.
The volt has nothing on Tesla Model S.
ratryu 2 years ago
"It has a 2 minute battery swap system."
Can i call you Simple Simon??
I told you unless you lug ANOTHER 100lb battery in the back. Nissan has theirs coming out as well with same limitation... your tied to 100 miles. And battery charging is STILL a lengthy process.
Look up what infrastructure means because I dont think your vocab is up to this technology.
Volt has BOTH batter and gas engine to charge battery, so you're not tied down. Tesla has a nicer shell - big whoop!
jabberwolf 2 years ago
Have you looked up Better Place? They are going to build up charging points and battery swap stations all over California. The Model S has 300 mile range. The volt has 40 miles.
45 minutes is not a long time. 2 minute battery swap is not a long time. A 30 minute recharge time is not a long time.
Also, what makes you think that gm will actually sell the volt? Based on their shady history, anyone can tell you that the volt will cost 40k and only be leased.
ratryu 2 years ago
Base Price: $49,900 After $7,500 Tax Credit.
So you can drive 300 miles and be stuck at your location... Guuurreeat then what? Chances are there will NOT be a charging point. 40 miles was calculated to be optimal distance most commute a day. Thus less weight, less waste of energy.
Only be leased but still sold for 40K?
Again where the hell do you get your info, as little of it is true.
jabberwolf 2 years ago
Tesla:
Range is 300 miles, though there will be different battery options, with less expensive ones giving you a range of 160 or 230 miles. Charging time is 4 hours with a 200-volt power outlet, but a quickcharge can be done in 45 minutes and the Model S was designed so that the battery could be swapped in 5 minutes.
BASE 49K not 40K!
Probably the smallest battery and smallest range. The full charge is 4 HOURS with a 200-volt power outlet.
45 min- "quick charge" = only with adequate stations!
jabberwolf 2 years ago
@ Jabberworlf: All it takes is setting up an automated ATM-machine-styled Plug-in charging units at every functional gas station across america... hardly takes any major capital investment or efforts... just like setting up vending machines... these charging units will have the quick charge system and the system itself can be improved to charge ur car in like 15 minutes... I usually spend about 15 minutes at gas stations anyways when I am on road trips with my car (restroom, buying, stretching).
pogularocky 2 years ago
And you can increase speeds, but less mileage, by increasing Amperage (energy) to the to the drive turbine.
People have done this with a pinto and some lithium batteries to create drag strip cars. But its still not efficient or practical for daily driving or long commutes.

Wow, I think it would be great to have such a limited mind. You seem as if you could be happy locked in a civilian inmate labor camp.

Sure, if you like to call Earth a "civilian inmate labor camp." Seems like you're not too happy with your life.

I like this guy Elon. Keep up the awesome work man.

Did you catch that statement? "In 1969 we were able to go to the moon, now we can only get to lower orbit". That is a very powerful statement, Nassa would never make that statement but now that a civillian is in the space business they can't control what is said.

Continued:
If you study footage that shows the moon landing was fake then you will find the satement adds further evidence that it was faked because just how is it that we can only reach lower orbit in 2007 when we supposedly had the tecnology to make it to the moon in 1969. That's like going back to 8 track tape players and saying we no longer have the technology to make DVD's
FreeGlobalEnergy 4 years ago
Ummm......we can make far beyond low orbit. That's what political majors call "spin".
He's trying to verbaly beat down NASA, by making it seem like they're sitting on their hineys. Which they arent.
But SpaceX still sounds sweet
SirQuady 4 years ago 2
Why would he try to verbally beat down Nasa, what would be his intention to do so when he now contracts to them?
In the study of Government lies I look for statement clues that most people never pay attention to.
FreeGlobalEnergy 4 years ago
First off, its called branding. He's looking for support for his SpaceX brand, so he says things like that about NASA to make his company look better. The hope being that he will get support from other companies and the general populace. Every company does it when they have a big competitor...just look at the I'm a Mac I'm a PC ads by Apple. Even though both companies do work with each other in many cases (Microsoft Office for Mac!), they still try to demean each other in advertising.
SirQuady 4 years ago 3
No, it's true what Elon said about Nasa. It's not a mistake at all. We do not have a rocket that is capable of getting people to the moon presently, that's why they are developing the Ares. The shuttle is confined to low earth orbit (LEO). 100% true, look it up. NASA had considered their mandate elsewhere until Bush instituted the VSE to get people back to the moon. It may be "branding" but it's also true and highlights the need for a private company like SpaceX.
lacrosseguy8 4 years ago
Oh, i agree with that. I just disagree with FreeGlobalEnergy saying that because we cant do it now we obviously couldn't have done it back in the 60s.
SirQuady 4 years ago 2
Oh, for sure we went back in the 60s. I hate moon conspiracy theorists. We went then, we will go again. Private industry (and people like Elon Musk) will help us become a space fairing species.
lacrosseguy8 4 years ago 3
Exactly!

Secondly, I'm not sure Elon Musk counts as "The Government".
Thirdly, it could all just be a simple mistake that he said it. I'm pretty sure someone being interviewied for national TV would be at least a little nervous...which means it would be more likely for them to say stuff accidentally.

@SirQuady Engineers mostly sit on their hineys for a living. But that can be very productive hiney-sitting.

Shit, if I had some money now, I would buy that car.
kosmosleha 4 years ago
You will make enough money to buy that car. Because you're good enough, smart enough and gosh darn it, people like you. you go boy! (or girl)
