Good story, but stupid advertising feces. It won't be long before people start using custom players that refuse to let you fast-forward past their ads.
Ads are greater than no YouTube. Especially when you can mute your sound/do something else while it plays. Commercial organizations are always going to try and find a suitable profit margin, especially for free services like this.
